Converted into a luxury Pousada historic hotel in 2009, the 18th century Palácio de Estói used to be the seat of the Viscounts of Estoi, who built this elegant palace and commissioned its delightful Versailles-style gardens with pavilions for enjoying afternoon tea, the favourite past time of the European aristocracy during the 18th and 19th centuries.

There is even an ancient chapel in the Palácio de Estói's grounds if you are thinking of getting married here, and the old stables and cowsheds have been converted into a state-of-the-art events venue for wedding receptions and conferences. Also, the Pousada de Estói has a restaurant and a bar, a wonderful panoramic swimming pool and a deluxe spa complex with a Turkish bath, sauna and gym as well.
