It was my second time in The Westin Excelsior. The Hotel has a good location and the staff of Hotel were excelent.

Staff were excellent (bar staff slightly less so). One of our rooms wasn't ready for us when we arrived which was a nuisance. For the rating and price of the room we felt that there was a very slight faded feel (dirty marks around light switches etc). Picky, but at those prices, why not? Overall maybe a bit old-fashioned and stuffy for our taste....

The hotel was nice but really needs an outside area, you could sit out on the road but no where to go read a book in the sunshine.

For a 5* Luxury hotel we were disappointed that there were no in-room tea/coffee making facilities. In addition, and perhaps because breakfast is not included in the room rate, the choice of food at breakfast was not as good as we had expected and the service was poor.

As a former high-class hotelier I have very high standards. Not one thing about this hotel was a source of disappointment - a rare thing today. Delighted with stay.

All accommodations have Westin Heavenly Beds®, the top comfort beds with a full selection of pillows, and offer city and river views. The rooms feature Multimedia Quadriga System, including complete on-demand program selection in multiple languages for movies, sports and light entertainment, as well as a digital jukebox and a range of other guest services. How to reach The Westin Excelsior, Florence Hotel
By carFrom Rome and highway A1, take exit Firenze Certosa and follow the indications to Firenze centro, via Porta Romana to Petrarca. Continue to ponte della Vittoria. After crossing the Arno river, turn right onto Piazza Ognissanti.
From Fiesole, follow the signs to the city centre of Florence. From piazza della Libertà, follow viale Lavagnini, around Fortezza da Basso, until viale Rosselli. At the Arno river, turn left towards Piazza Ognissanti.
From Pisa and Livorno, take highway A11 and follow the signs to the city centre of Florence until the Arno river. At the river follow the signs to Ponte Vecchio. Follow Lungarno Vespucci until Piazza Ognissanti.
From Bologna and highway A1, take exit Firenze nord and follow the signs to the city centre of Florence until the river. At the river, follow the indications to Ponte Vecchio and then follow Lungarno Vespucci until Piazza Ognissanti.
By train
