We were put the first night is a room in which most of the space was taken by the service elevator case , making noise all the night long. There was hardly any space between the bed and the wall. ( we were two adults and and a child in this tiny cubicle ). The aircon was insufficient. After complaining we were given the second night a decent room. The staff is cold is indifferent. What a relief when we arrived in a decent Hotel in Florence ! ( The Grand Hotel Starwood ). Sleeping badly and having a bad hotel spoils a trip.This hotel does not deserve its so-called reputation.

No air conditioning despite indication on advertising.Reception people gave several answers before admitting the inexistence of air conditioning (5 stars hotel!).The bill contained charges of services (internet and telephone call)not used;They have been cancelled before check out.

My marks could have been much higher if there was not a very sad situation that occurred while we were checking out of the hotel. My colleague has left a Euro 500 deposit during check in. She's got no receipt, the concierge put the money into an envelope and told her not to worry. On check out another concierge said there was no deposit. Even the phone call to the gentleman who was in change the other day did not solve the problem - he rejected everything. I feel for a respectful hotel this is not the right way to behave with its guests. We paid twice and left in very bad mood.

The room is classic, but the floor are made of woods, therefore, it is very noisy to walk. The breakfast is superb but expensive and I overlooked in the contract that breakfast is not included. Only 2 news channel are in English, movies in english needs to pay.
