The hotel location is quite close to the Passeig de Garcia and Casa Mila and convenient to reach to many bars and restaurants. The cleanliness of room is good quality and the staffs are generally kind and cooperative. To compare with price, location and quality, I think this hotel is reasonable.

The hotel's excellent and well connected, with two metro stations very close to the hotel. The hotel is just off Passeig de la Gracia, just a few metres away from La Pedrera (one of Gaudi's attractions), a number of up-market shops, and Catalonia's Tourist Information Centre. There is an excellent bakery/cafe in front of the hotel called El Fornet, at which you can have an excellent breakfast for a cheaper rate than the hotel. There are also a couple of good restaurants close by. The hotel restaurant is quite good too, although the one time I went it was pretty empty. The employees are very helpful and do try to make an effort to accomodate your requests. The only mishap is that there are road works being carried out on the hotel's street (and they will take a while as I believe they involve upgrades to the Metro line), but no noise can be heard from the rooms as the hotel rooms feature excellent double-glazing and sound proofing. I would highly recommend this hotel and would use again.

The hotel location was excellent. I have been to Barcelona several times and this was one of the best experiences. There was a lot of construction in front of the hotel but this did not create any noise problems in the room.

Great neighborhood of Barcelona. easy access to everything we wanted to do. generally very friendly and helpful staff. we had room in the back so construction on street next block over wasn't an issue.

The location is great, right in the center of the shopping area and in the walking distance to the old town. Mind the undeground construction just outside, however it did not cause much noise and suppose to be finished soon. It is a business hotel, so if you are in Bracelona for romantic get-away you better think of another option - my boyfriend and I got the room with 2 queen beds and when asked to change it, they could not help us. The hotel is quite good renovated and the rooms are nice, but then again - better for business stay, way too minimalistic.

Standard Double room: I visited Paris and Rome last year and although our four star hotel in Rome was good, nothing prepared me for how pleasantly surprised I was with Gallery Hotel. My expectations after my first visit to Europe (especially Paris) had been lowered indeed, but don't make the mistake of thinking that I’m impressed with this hotel because of lowered expectations. By European standards, our room was big, and by American standards it was big enough. It was CLEAN and just comfortable in every way. The only negative things I have to say about this hotel are: 1) There was no ventilation in the bathroom so it would get stinky from time to time and we would have to open the bathroom door and the windows to remedy the problem. 2) At checkout, they used a much higher conversion rate (from euro to dollar) than the rate of that day. I believe the rate for that particular day was 1.40, but they used a conversion rate of 1.446 for the total dollar amount. We were in a hurry so we just thought that the total also included the 3% foreign transaction fee the banks charge and therefore it was too high, but that wasn’t the case. This has left a bitter taste in my mouth from this hotel that I can easily get over given how much I loved everything else; next time, we’ll just pay cash (in euro) to avoid the conversion rate issue! 3) Our bed was essentially two individual twin beds put next to each other to make a bigger bed for two. This arrangement didn’t bother me personally, but I thought it would matter to some so I figured I’d mention it.

Really clean hotel with friendly, helpful staff and spacious and light room. It's well placed for Diagonal metro and really handy for some of the key Gaudi sites. The only issue we had was that the room didn't have any drink making facilties (glasses, kettle, cups etc.) and the food and drinks in the hotel itself are very pricy - but there are plenty of places roundabout. Overall, I'd thoroughly recommend it.

Excellent location in Eixample area, very close to Modernisme buildings and Passeig de Gracia shopping district. Metro station Diagonal is right in front of hotel, just three stops to medieval old town (Barri Gotic). Well isolated windows, so you hardly hear anything - if your room is on the back side. In front of the hotel, there is a construction site, so I would recommend to insist on rooms on the back. Mainly elder guests. We did not try breakfast at the hotel as that is rather expensive - and there are several cafés in the area that offer good breakfast. The room meets the expectations for that price level. It´s not cheap, but it´s what you have to pay for four star accomodation in Barcelona. We would choose the hotel again.

Most, but not all of the staff were courteous and helpful. The hotel is a good twenty minute walk from the Placa de Catalunya. The road outside the hotel is currently excavated for work on the underground and although it was not particularly noisy it detracts somewhat from the ambience. However the hotel is of a high standard and at current rates is good value for money.

Modernized, comfortable, clean hotel rooms in an excellent location, 1/2 block from a subway station. When we were there May 9th to 11th, the street was under reconstruction and the hotel entrance was blocked to taxi service, requiring a half block walk in the rain with our luggage. Other than tis, the hotel is excellent. Many good restaurants nearby.

This is an excellent contemporary, stylish hotel. Within yards of much of the modernist archtecture and about a 20 minute walk to Las Ramblas (if you don't fancy the walk, a Metro station is 50 yards away). During our stay ths staff were very efficient and extremely helpful. Highly recommended.

Only fault i could find is breakfast was not included in the price so the final bill was increased by an additional 40 euro's for us although we only stayed 2 nights and had to leave early on our final morning so we would of got breakfast in airport anyway. however we did have breakfast there on our first morning and it was very good pleasent very clean resteraunt, curtious staff and food was nice also

We stayed two nights over New Year 2007/08 We arrived early at 11.00 a.m. and fully expected to have to wait for our room. However, because we were prepared to take a smoking room (not a trace of smoke anywhere in the room) we were able to freshen up before having lunch at the bakery opposite the hotel. The Gallery is very well situated in a good area. Our room was very well equipped and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.

Hotel was of a high standard in the prestigious surroundings of Passeig de Gracia. Pleasant rooftop area which would definitely have benefited from the addition of a pool. Staff were friendly, slight mix up with one of the rooms was quickly rectified. Perfect for a shopping holiday - if it's the beach you're afer, it's about 6 stops on the metro which was a bit far.

We tried to get reservations in about 10 hotels in Barcelona and they were all full. There was a big cardiologists' meeting taking place. The Gallery Hotel was (luckily) not listed on any of the other websites or guidebooks we were using, aside from Venere. We thought that perhaps the hotel was new and therefore as yet unknown. This is not the case. I'm not sure how old it is (the bellman said at least 10-15 years old), but it is very recently redone. Has very much the feel of a W Hotel in style. It is in the Eixample district, which is where we wanted to be ... i.e. close to the major Modernisme buildings (one block from Casa Milà) and close to most of the top restaurants, so that it was easy to walk to and from dinner at night. This hotel is a winner and an excellent value, especially on weekends!

This is an excellent choice for anyone who wishes to stay in a central area of Barcelona with perfect access to the metro, easy access to the tourist bus line (2 day tour highly recommended to start you off - 1st day go on the blue and red line tours - once on each for the full tour, and then decide where you want to visit more extensively on the 2nd day). High speed Internet, ok breakfast (though very clean... and don't settle for the regular coffee, ask for a cappuccino... ;). Rooms have thin walls - keep in mind... Price is very good. We stayed there for 115EU per day. Taxi from the airport is 25EU. Enjoy Barcelona, Gaudi was a genious, and you have two immediate examples right next door: Casa Batllo (7 minute walk) and La Pedrera - Casa Mila (1.5 minute walk). His La Sagrada Familia cathedral is not too far away either (the entire city is easily accessible on foot - though keep an eye on your personal belongings...) For a restaurant, next door mediterrenean is nice, though don't dare to miss out on Ciudad Condal (Ciutat Comtal in the local Catalan language...) 18, Rambla Catalunya (do not confuse with "Las Ramblas"!) Tel: +34933181997. Best tapas bar ever - Catalan sushi-like freshness from heaven. Ask for Augustino the barman and let him guide you through the menu. Finish it all off with a nice Carlos I brandy. Salud!

We, a young couple, stayed in Barcelona for a long weekend. Gallery Hotel was excellent in every way, except for the maid. She myst strangely have assumed that theres was only one staying at our room, cause we got only one bathrobe, one pair of slippers - and one night we came home and found only one chocolate on the bed. Apart from that, the stay was wonderful. So central, so nice rooms.

Good quality hotel with very helpful staff. I would defintely recommend the location after visiting a lot of the other areas of Barcelona, though a younger couple would probably find it a bit quiet in the evenings. That being said the area is great for shopping and the central attractions and benefits not being in the Blackpool-esque location of the Ramblas.

This was a very nice hotel in the heart of the shopping district of the city. Very near to several of Gaudi's houses etc etc... The sound-proofing of the rooms worked well with the exception of the room-doors. They were very heavy and tended to make loud noises when closing. Apart from this minor problem it was really a very nice hotel. Getting one double bed might be a problem, but staff attention, room and location was superb.

Excellent range of choice at breakfast for all nationalities, and hot as well as cold food. Superb friendly service for breakfast/ lunch as well as at reception who swiftly organised any request and with a smile. coffee bar/ lunch a little cramped with furniture, but few people around at any one time. Nice touches in the rooms with use of a bath robe and slippers as well as umbrella for rainy days. Metro station entrance a few yards away. There was a reasonable choice of restaurants nearby for when you were so weary from sight seeing during the day!

We found the hotel particularly welcoming, the staff were very sympathetic, as my bag had been stolen . The receptionist offered to make calls to the police, embassy , which was much appreciated. The hotel is lovely and really well situated. One comment is that more could be made of the bar/ restuarant area, to make it more welcoming, as the staff there are very pleasant, but the surroundings are a bit austere. Overall, we had a great stay and would certainly recommend it
