Very convenient for a couple of days in Venice. The location of the appartment is away from the main touristic areas in a quiet part of the town. You can find nearly anything you need in Via Garibaldi (5 mn walk), there is a butcher and a bakery close by and also trattorias and the nice "ANTICA OSTERIA" for a romantic dinner. It is close to the GIARDINI station where you can get a vaporetto to the main attractive places (including Murano and St Giorgio). The appartment is clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The Owners are friendly and will take you from the Giardini vaporetto station (only a few minutes walk but it is not evident to find the flat). Many thanks for their kindness for we arrived quite late. Be prepared to pay in cash on arrival. In summary, quite a good experience and a highly recommended place.

Absolutely no complaints at all. Apartment was in the perfect location, wasn't particularly quiet, but I think this added to the whole atmosphere of Venice, didn't bother us at all. Only downside was there was no wi-fi, but plenty of the cafes had them so wasn't a big issue. Would highly recommend this apartment.

The apartment is located in a residential area and there is some noise from the people passing by the buildings. There is a lovely bakery within minute's walk and a great fruit and vegetable stall on Via Garibaldi, again couple of minutes' walk. Location would appeal to those who enjoy park and gardens as is located near Giardini Biennale but close enough to walk to the main tourist sites.

Compact, clean, warm ground floor apartment most convenient for Vaparetto, shops and easy walk to San Marco. Welcoming reliable hostess ready and available for help at all times. Ideal for 2. Hope to return before too long.

Myself and my husband decided to visit Venice for our tenth wedding anniversary and we stayed at Sarasina for one week. We found the apartment was very accessible to everywhere in Venice but was in a quiet location away from the tourist areas but only a 15 minute walk to St Marks Square. The apartment was ideal as we were trying to budget and it felt like home from home. The landlady was excellent and very welcoming. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Venice.

It was lovley to stay in a flat between the venice inhabitants. The flat was in good renovated condition, even the one-glas-windows couldn't keep the noise outside. But we enjoy the noise as "venice life". Plenty dishes and cooking utensiels, good mattresses, big wardrobe... Hand-to-mouth buying, restaurants, parks and the waterbus/vaporetto were near by. We missed nothing :)))

This was a delightful place. It was in amongst where Venetians actually live and a bit out of the main tourist noise but within easy walking distance of San Marco - maybe 15 minutes but with lots to look at on the way. It was right near the Public Gardens and the ferry stop. The owner was very helpful and met us at the ferry to guide us to the apartment and called by later to show us how to use the washing machine when we couldn't make it work. The apartment itself was very pleasant - on the ground floor on a corner of a building with lots of windows opening onto the little alleys, a well equipped kitchen, a clean and pleasant bathroom and the most beautiful floor. It had a sofa bed in the living area as well as the bed in the bedroom. It might be a bit crowded for four people, but was ideal for two. It was only a couple of minutes walk from Via Garibaldi where there were local bakers, butchers, grocery stores, etc charging non-tourist prices. Excellent value for money and made Venice seem more like a real place rather than just a living museum. If we ever manage to to get back to Venice we will try to stay there again.

The Apartment was everything the description stated. It was very clean and ideally positioned; It was comfortable except for the sofa bed which, for an adult to sleep on all week it was rather uncomfortable. We were able to enjoy the wonders of what always will be a compelling city and it was good to return to the apartment each evening.

perfect place for us: an easy 10-15 min stroll to st marks square but far enough away to escape the mad tourist crowds. it is a 2 minute walk from the giardini waterbus stop. the owner sent us an e-mail with instructions how to get there, and her mobile phone number in case we got lost. her daughter met us at the vaporetto stop and walked us to the apartment and showed us the features of the apartment. the apartment is a few minutes walk from via garabaldi which has a few restaurants, a shop, fresh fruit market and a cash machine. apartment is in a quiet street. no outdoor area or balcony to sit in though. there is a really nice bar / cafe 5 minutes away if you walk to the giardini waterbus stop and go turn left along the waterfront.

Nice, clean and well equipped appartement for two persons, for a family would be too small. Giardini stop and shopping places are quick and easy to reach. Owners are a friendly couple. As far the appartement is on ground floor, it is a bit noisy sometimes, but not too bad. If you like to spend some indipendent days in Venice, it is the right place.

The city is amazing and we had a great time there. A little bit expensive in general, but it is worth visiting it! The appartment was perfect, the lady who welcomed us was very kind, everything was very clean and the location is great as well, in a quiet and non touristic area but only 10-15minutes walking from San Marco Square. We recommend it to young people or families with young children who don't want to spend a lot of money with hotels and meals.

Although the property was compact and simply furnished, it had in fact everything we needed for our stay – particularly the heating, as the weather was cold and wet! The kitchen is very small but we cooked a couple of excellent meals there (having so many good food shops nearby is a great advantage). We really liked its location out of the main tourist areas with plenty of local life, and getting to the centre was an easy walk or vaporetto ride: and the view of Venice as we walked along the front towards San Marco was stunning. Our reception by Luiga was friendly and efficient. Altogether I'd warmly recommend this apartment to a couple.

We stayed at the Sarasina for the last four days off Carnevale and found it excellent in all ways. The owner's daughter met us at the waterbus stop and was very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was clean and more than adequate. It was located just several hundred yards from the waterbus stop and so was easy to get to with luggage. The apartment is located in a nice working-class area of Venice, on the edge of the gardens where the Biennale is held and very near the via Garibaldi, which has lots of friendly local bars, restaurants, a good fruit and veg canal boat, and lots of delicatessens. You can walk to St Marks in fifteen or twenty minutes, or take the waterbus, and you are very near the Arsenale complex and other interesting areas of Venice that are less visited by tourists. We would definitely stay there again.

The place is nice and the owner was very nice and helpful. the place nice and perfect for an independent stay in Venice. The only two things that can be discused are that first the location is not correct. The place is very close to Gardini area and 25 min from San Marcos piazza not the place or 5 ninutes that the webb indicated. Also the windows are facing the street, it is not a very buissy streat but it can be a bit disturbing at night or early time. But we recomend, in particular for where it is ubicated. Very close to Via Garibaldy and a good chance to mix with local people and to scape a bit the only turist areas.

OTTIMO!!!

This is a great choice for the budget conscious traveller who wants to stay in real Venice, but not spend a fortune. By Venice standards it is further out that most places to stay, but the 15 minute walk along the front to St Marks is very pleasant indeed, and it is closer to the centre than anywhere you would ever stay in London, New York, etc. Being in a more Venetian area of Venice means that the local restaurants are \"real\" - and priced at local, not tourist levels. The pizza place round the corner was particularly great - 16\" pizzas from E3.50 The property is great, and very fairly described on the website. It is very spacious for two, although it would be a bit cramped for four. The bed is large, firm, and comfortable. The sitting room has sat. tv, including BBC world, and German and French channels. There are guidebooks in English and German. The sofa is ugly but tolerably comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped, although I doubt most people will use the cooker or washing machine. There is a toaster and kettle, expresso machine, and other bits like that. The bathroom has clearly been refurbished very recently, and was in excellent order (with continuous hot water). The seven windows all have proper wooden shutters, and ornate grills that mean you can leave the windows open all day, without worrying. There are two air con units for summer, and central heating for winter. The whole place was spotlessly clean. The only thing I would say against it is that it is not where the online map says it is. It is in Castello, 1 minute walk from Giardini water bus stop - so 15 minutes walk from St Marks, not 5 minutes as the map implies (the written description of where it is is correct). The location is almost unique in one sense - there are no steps between the water bus stop and the apartment. Having seen tourists struggling over bridges with suitcases I was glad that we were staying where we were. Finally, the lady who runs it is really helpful - even whe
