First time to Venice and I don't think we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Very central location, 5 minute walk from the water taxi's and close to all major attractions. Our hosts were exceptionally helpful, giving advice on what to see and were to go and how to get about when we checked in. We saw them each morning at breakfast for a quick chat but unlike other bed and breakfasts that i have stayed in we were at ease coming and going when and as often as we liked. The room was huge, with ensuit, very clean and tidy with a small fridge in the room. If we return to Venice we will be staying here.

Fantastic location approx 2mins to San Marco Square. Has a small lift to accommodate mature guests & heavy luggage - B&B is on the 4th floor of the palazzo. Perfect accommodation for those just wanting a bed at night (our room was clean but small, and probably not suited to those wanting to hang out - though the communal living area was lovely and roomy.) Furnishings and wall coverings were more aged & worn than the website photos showed. We were instructed to call Mr Tomasutti upon our arrival in Venice, and he gave us excellent directions straight to the B&B (no getting lost!) where we were greeted by Mr Tomasutti and his daughter, who where welcoming & helpful (we were offered a map and a couple of hot tips on what to see, where to eat etc.) Breakfast was good (cereal & yoghurt, cold cuts & cheese, rolls and pastries.) The housekeeper (Helena) who served breakfast each morning spoke a little english, and was very accommodating (communication was assisted by our translator app) - when where asked about any laundry services nearby, Helena personally showed my husband to the laudromat around the corner. We spent 4 nights in Venice, and found Bed and Breakfast Palazzo Duodo Gregolin offered great value for money.

Excellent location and very antic atmosphere. It was really a good choice. We stayed at Suite for the first night due to sudden change on our itinerary, then move to double room called White suite. Everything was quite satisfactory but comparing the suite, double room can be too small. But i'll choose this place again for my next trip to Venice.

This B&B is conveniently located between Rialto Bridge and San Marco's Square just a short walk from the Rialto water taxi stop. Andrea was very adamant about us calling the day before arrival as well as when we arrived. His directions to reach were very clear and easy to follow. Andrea was very welcoming and offered us literature as well as tips and ideas around the Venice area. However, after our initial meeting we never saw Andrea again although he would call each morning to check up on us. His morning staff didnt speak any English. The large common area and rooms were beautifully furnished and sits in a very quiet area. All the rooms are on the third floor of this building. We enjoyed hearing several singing gondoliers nearby when we had the windows open. The room also had AC. The breakfast was very simple with the typcial croissants, cereals and yougurts. We enjoyed our stay and considering the location we would stay here again.

The Owners of this B&B were very friendly and interesting. Staying in their home gave a true experience of Venice people and life. Staying in an original small palace with original furnishing was an added treat. On our early morning departure they scheduled a porter to cart our bags to the water bus station which was very helpful.

Once we found the location it was very old style Venetian and is located very central to key sites. A canal packed with gondolas runs next to the building and is a charming memory. Breakfast was continetal and well presented. Taking the water bus to Rialto is complex but with a little research it is uncomplicated such as at airport do NOT line up to buy tickets from a machine or outside of arrivals usually a 30 min line up, go to the Alilaguna water stop a good 5 minute walk [well sign posted or just ask] and buy at kiosk or on board.

We spent 4 nights at this B&B and had a great time. The hosts/owners are very helpful and welcoming, and they would constantly check on us at breakfast time to make sure everything was in order. Large rooms and bathrooms, with beautiful furniture. The location is especially useful since it's only a couple of minutes from San Marcos. We had a bit of difficulty finding the place, since it was our first time in Venice, and the streets are narrow and dark in the evenings. The hosts gave us detailed directions to reach the place, but we managed to lose ourselves. However, that's only a minor point when compared to the nice time we had there. We would love to stay there again.

Very central, easy to find. Excellent host attention when required. Noisy during day time as it overlooks a canal and not all the gondoliers sing well. Bed was hard and old style bath with shower wand had no wall hook. Very spacious and genuinly old furnishings.

The purpose of the stay was a short and relaxing break for myself and my partner. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit and the accommodation was clean and very good. The only downside was the fact that there was no shower in the bathroom. Also the hot water was a bit intermittent. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

The hotel is conveniently located in the San Marco area between the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square. Breakfast was nice and the service was good. Since there are 3 suites I think the service is more catered to you. I had the Red Suite and it had a room with a double bed and another room with a single bed and entry into the bathroom. The bathroom seemed a little small but it was clean. You will find that this suite is in a very secure area. I felt my things were in a safe and secure place although I couldn't get the room safe to work. I figured the room was safe enough since you go through 2 other locked doors before entering your suite. Check in is at the Centauro Hotel. This location needs to be better identified in the hotel information. I found it a bit difficult to find. I found it with the help of asking several other hotels. Go to Campo Manin and take a left around the area of the statue (when coming from Campo S. Luca). I never actually got the address. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to others. I have also visited Venice many times and try to experience different places each time. This was my first B&B there.

Palazzo Duodo was a great find. It is well situated near Piazza San Marco and not difficult to locate, given the directions from the receptionist at the main hotel. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the air conditioner was very welcome during the recent heatwave. A plentiful breakfast was provided and the sitting room made you feel you were in a traditional Venetian salon. We would definitely recommend Palazzo Duodo.

The location is difficult to find despite the fact that we had been to Venice previously. When we finally found it; there was nobody there. We phoned and realized that you must check in at the Hotel Centauro which is yet another scavenger hunt to try to locate. Finally found it and checked in; then had to return to Palazzo Duodo. We were utterly exhausted by that time as we had to tote our luggage around with us. I must have missed this important bit of information when I booked this room--it should perhaps be made more clear at the time of booking. Once we got into the room; it was quite spacious and well kept. The breakfast was very good and there is a central sitting area where you could mingle with other guests. I would not recommend this hotel for first timers and even for us we learned that a close location to the train station is worth its weight in gold..I would not go back again simply because of the complexity of the check in process. The people we dealt with however; were all very helpful and polite.

I love the location, once we actually found it. Easy way to remember is the main street Calle de Fabri is accessible from St Mark and there is just one bridge to go over. This is helpful when dragging your luggage around. Hotel Centauro is close by and would recommend once person stay by the hotel (cross street is primo gregolina and Fabri) while the other checks in at Centauro. Breakfast is very good and the rooms are good sized.

I've been to Venice 5 or 6 times and this was the best place I've stayed. The common area is outstanding, and although the white suite, which we were given, has a small bedroom and bath, it also has an additional bedroom with a twin bed and armoire, so all our luggage and other stuff stayed there, keeping our bedroom clear. I will be back here again! Remember to check in at the Hotel Centauro first in order to get the key and directions to Palazzo Duodo. Yes, it is hard to fine, but you must realize everything is hard to find the first time in the narrow, winding, poorly-signed lanes of Venice, and adjust your thinking. It is well-located between the Rialo and St. Mark's square. Later, you'll find it easily and be glad you're off the busy calle.

We traveled with my husband in April 8 to 12 of 2010. The place was excellent, except hot water and heating. It was fairly chilly at night and we would like heat to be turned on for the night, which was done, but just once. Breakfast and service were great, although the maid spoke only Italian. The location is excellent, nothing to say about it. I would recommend the place.

This was a fantastic place to stay, we had the whole place to ourselves as there where no other guests. The Duodo is a two minute walk from St Marcs Square. Value for money was excellent, I can understand why its a little hard to find, but so is everywhere in Venice. We stayed in the green room, and it really captured the feel of Italy. Breakfast was fantastic and there was plenty of it. I have to say I loved Venice loved the Duodo, and would book to stay there again (it was so much better than a hotel room). One thing I must say there is a little restuarant as you come out of the alley from the Duodo just to the right, don't use it, it is over priced your talking about at least £180 for a 3 course meal and drinks, and trust me the food is very poor. Shop round before you eat as there are some fantastic restraunts around if you look. PS if your going as a group you could book up all 3 rooms and have the place to yourself. We were just luck know one else was staying.

What a lovely B&B. My family and I were given the White Suite which was actually a main bedroom with a double bed, and a smaller room (with a single bed) attached. Actual location of the Palazzo was ideal - a two minute walk would bring you to the St. Mark's Square. However, having to first find Hotel Centauro was the tricky part !!! We will definitely return to Palazzo Duodo & Venice (but not in summer - it was too hot).

Excellent bed and breakfast in the heart of Venice. Highly recommended. The only draw back is that you have to check in at another hotel which was a bit difficult to find since it was down an alleyway and not well advertised. Also this property does have an elevator but there are about 4-5 steps that you have to climb before you reach the elevator. It wasn't an issue for us but might pose a problem for someone who is disabled or elderly. But besides that, great stay!

The Palazzo Duodo is unmarked, which was confusing, and the key needs to be picked up at another hotel. Otherwise, on arrival one cannot get into the building. When establishing the reservation it would be good to include this information, directing guests to the other hotel to retrieve the key. Fortunately, when we arrived it happened to coincide with another guest returning, and he let us in, then helped us locate the other hotel so we could get the key. Our room was above a restaurant, so it wasn't quiet with the windows open - we had to keep them shut at night. Sound level was acceptable with the windows shut. The room was spacious and comfortable, but the floor does not appear to have been swept during our stay - a scrap of paper on the floor was there when we arrived and remained there when we left. We did enjoy our stay and would stay there again. We especially liked the proximity to Piazzo San Marco.

Mr. Andreas (I think he is the owner) is present on the day that you arrive and he offers you all the help that you might need and then he disappears. The girl that cleans and serves breakfast, does not speak a word in English (not that matters a lot but Mr. Andreas assured me that she was fluent in English and I could ask her for help if I needed. Guess what, not a word). And she also comes in your room to clean when you are still there and it does not matter a lot if you are using the bathroom or dressing. I would not go back to Palazzo Duodo, but I would definitely go back to Venice.

Couldn't have had a better stay. Peaceful relaxed, independent. Just what we were looking for, and as presented. The map for the Centauro hotel which oversees the property was a bit vague because of the loction of its symbol on the map covered an entire block but that was minor. Overall, though it was most memorable, roomy, and I mean roomy, quiet and romantic. We traveled with 3 teenage sons and it was large enough to be romantic for Mom and Dad. This was our first trip to Venice and my husband and I like our stay in Venice in Palazzo Duodo, most of all the location. It is very convenient location on the street, which connects the Rialto Bridge and piazza St. Marco. We stayed in two suites green and white for duration of our 4 nights stay. The green suite is very spacious unlike many other hotels of 3-4 stars in Italy but the bathroom did not have the shower one can take standing up. It was an old European style, which preserve the overall antic image of the suite. The white suite is better suitable for 3 people rather then 2 because it divided for two rooms with additional bed. At the same time the white suite has a standard standup shower. The breakfast was nice, but the help did not speak one word in English and was not pleasant to be around. The young woman who served breakfast never smiled. When you on vacation it is nice to start the day with a smile. The welcome at the hotel Centauro when we arrived to pick up the key from our suite was not warm either. But the location is superb and the spaciousness of the rooms was very nice to have.

This was my 15 year old daughter's favorite place we stayed in three weeks of travel in italy. You are literally staying in a Palace. It is a very small....maybe 3/4 rooms little gem. The pictures on the internet are very accurate and in fact may not do it justice....This place is just plain beautiful....complete with a canal view out our window. We had a two room suite which provided my daughter some much needed privacy. There is something you need to know about this property, however....It is Venice and nothing is easy to find. You have to check into one hotel and then walk about 8-10 minutes to the other property....if you know where you are going....if not...maybe 20-30 minutes of walking around with your luggage and map and asking locals.....The problem here is that there is no sign so none of the locals know where it is....Make sure you ask them directions to the address. One shop owner 15 feet away from the hotel had never heard of it....but when he saw the address...walked the 15 feet to the door and said....Yes...Here. There is only a small brass sign (4 X 6 inches) next to the door. The hotel you register in is the Hotel Centaur off a small Piazza. The hotel is in a very narrow alley opposite the side of the fountain you walk up from and dead center. Look for a picture of a Centaur hanging over the alley and you have it. The instructions they give to find the hotel Duodo are less than great....Don't be shy....ask the locals where the street is. I would even suggest that they give you a map with landmarks like shops or cafes (since the streets are not well marked)...or even escort you over to the property. The consensus of others staying there was that everybody got lost. After driving 3 hours, parking in the Tronchetto Garage, catching a Vaporetti, and lugging my bags the three to four blocks to the Hotel Centaur...I sure wasn't in the mood for a hotel hunt through poorly marked streets. Overall....this is a great property...very pretty, orna

Arriving was difficult, to say the least. Having rooms in a different location than the one for register is baffling. I think that, given de special design on Venecia, a more precise map with clear signals of where to embark at the train station, what vaporetto line to take, what station to land in and how to reach from there to the registering pace would be of much help.

Very nice place in an alley. Very nice breakfast and the living room area was great to spent some time if you didn't want to go out. Overall very pleasant. Only drawback was the complicated arrangements of finding the place. You first had to go to a hotel, which is also in an alley and hard to find, to get directions and keys to the B&B. With luggage this can be a hassle. But, the place is very nice and centrally located. Very close to St Mark Piazza.

2 adults 4 children aged 9 to 16 Had two suites red and green great space available and a sensational common living area and lovely breakfasts. What a lovely retreat this place was in busy Venice. We met the owner and he couldn't be more accomodating, even gave us travel advice for our ongoing holiday. Position was fantastic close to both St. Marks and Rialto. Love to go back and would definitely stay here again

This was the best accomodation during our entire summer vacation in 8 countries. The Palazzo Duodo is a gem of a pension. The only complaint I had was trying to locate the managing property, Hotel Centauro for check-in. We walked in circles for 25 minutes before locating it. The reception at Hotel Centauro was not very helpful and seemed "put off" that she either had to work that day, or had to "deal" with us. We however, tried to stay positive and friendly with her. Upon our arrival at Palazzo Duodo, I have to say, we were delighted with the location (between the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square) which is close to bars and cafes and restaurants and shopping. The palazzo itself is absolutely lovely. It only houses three rooms/suites with a common living room and dining room. Our room, the Green Suite, was large, exceptionally clean, had 5 or 6 windows looking out onto the canal below, was beautifully furnished, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. We had satallite television with only 1 or 2 English channels (but we didn't watch that much television anyway). The bathroom was large and well appointed with a tub/shower, toilet and bidet, a long chest on one wall and a sink. Water pressure and hot water were never a problem. The furniture was lovely, the walls were covered in beautiful fabric, the linens were quite nice. The entrance hall in our suite had a dresser and plenty of room for shoes and jackets. The room had quiet air conditioning. The owner of the pension greeted us the next morning after check in during breakfast. He was very kind and helpful. Breakfast included meat and cheeses, fresh fruit, rolls and pastry, breads, hard boiled eggs and fresh juices and coffees. We loved this place and vow to return. It's absolutely wonderful. It's perfect for small families and couples. It may be outpriced for the single traveller, although it was worth every penny!

Very nice, typical venetian place, just a short drop away from Markus square. Nice hideaway, you will have privacy, because there are only 3 suites and no personel around, except in the morning to prepare breakfast. Your have to check in at Hotel Centauro, though, it's a walk from Rialto to the Hotel and then again to Palazzo Duodo, so better bring light luggage :)
