We stayed at "Scrigno" which is on the Campo delle Ghetto Vecchia a few doors down from Al Faro Pizzeria/Restaurant. No air conditioning, but we didn't need it. The windows have screens and there are fans. No internet but free WIFI is available at nearby restaurants/bars. Great location very near Guglie vaporetto stop. About a 10 minute walk from the train station and the bus station and about 30 minute walk to Rialto or San Marco. Numerous restaurants nearby and 2 supermarkets (a Coop and a Billa). The apartment is completely equipped, but bring your own bath soap and shampoo. The bed and futon/couch were not the most comfortable, but we didn't lose any sleep. We had a "prepaid" reservation and were a bit nervous on the way to Venice, but Joey. the representative called us while we were on the bus from the airport and we had no problem meeting up with him. All in all a great stay in Venice and we will definitely stay at a Grimaldi apartment again.

The experience, in general, was good even if we had some problems. When we arrived to the meeting point we had to wait for half an hour under the rain for a member of the staff to pick us up and to take us to the apartment. Then, at the apartment, the TV didn’t work (and it took them two days to fix it) and some lights didn’t work.

The actual property we got was Scringo 76 Ghetto, this company have various propertys. Although the location and specific property details were a little ambiguous, and were left questioning whether we had done the right thing, the liason with the operators was brillent and accurate, we were met off the vapereto promptly, and warmly, and Morena took time to explain all of the details of the property and show us around, the property itself was faultless, right in the centre of the ghetto as described, very clean and quiet - but just a few minutes walk from the madding crowd. We loved it, and considered it good value, and have no hesitation to recomend it to a couple of any age who want to get into the "Real" venice, it would also make a great apartment for a couple with a young child, up to age 10,but no more than one child and any older. There is a great patiserie directly opposite in a quiet street, which was great value for brekfast, and the vapereto is a minute away, a shop is just next to this too, for small groceries, and the nearest supermarket is a ten minute walk along Super Nova - for larger shops, the train station is an easy and level ten minute walk away in a straight line. very hard to fault location and facilities, so in conclusion "Fantastico" Excuse spelling - I'm doing this on my IPhone, before I forget :)
