Our stay was fabulous! The hotel villa and surroundings were very beautiful and tranquil. Our classic room was very spacious and had wonderful views. The staff excelled in providing resources for the surrounding areas including Cortona, Lake Trasimeno, and nearby hiking. Our stay was at the top of the list during our visit to "The Real Italy."

An absolute must!! We could not have been more pleased. The friendly & helpful staff made our stay that much more special. We really miss our new "family". We had a little bit of a hard time finding the villa but, that is due to regulations on the amount of signs permitted by the local government. A true treasure when we did find it. We are sure to return one day soon.

A glorious property, spaciously appointed and lovingly restored. The family and staff are faultlessly warm and welcoming; the food exquisitely unfussy and authentic (surprising highlight: orechiette with turnip greens, eaten an hour or so after walking by a nearby field where turnips had been trimmed and turned over to dry in the sun. It doesn't get more local and seasonal than that). An idyllic spot to return to daily on a tour of the region - though as often as not, you'll just want to soak up the immediate surroundings and lounge by the pool with a good book and a glass of wine, imagining that your life always consisted of days like these.

By carFrom A1 Firenze-Roma highway, take the exit Bettolle-Valdichiana. After the toll-booth, turn right and follow the indications to Perugia, exit at Castiglione del Lago and turn right towards Cortona (SS 71). Pass the towns of Terontola and Riccio, then turn right to Ossaia. After Ossaia, at the T intersection, turn right for Mercatale (SP 35). After 4 km, exiting the town of Pergo, turn right for Villa di Piazzano.
