We cannot recommend Chalet Paradiso more highly. The tranquility in the lemon grove was just perfect, especially after the hustle and bustle of Sorrento. The owner kindly collected us from the station and his recommendations for dining were superb! A perfect choice if you are a couple on a self-catering holiday.

We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment. Very tranquil in the garden with lemon trees. Comfortable apartment. Kitchen very basic missed a toaster, but there are many restaurants. Also missed wifi. But other than that I will recommend this place as it is centrally situated easy to leave Sorrento by car.A super place to stay.

We had such a lovely time in Chalet Paradiso! It was indeed paradisiac. The owner Ambrogio gave us a ride from and to the station, and also provided lots us useful information. The chalet was just perfect for us two, had a nice design and everything we needed. We especially loved spending time outside on the terrace, even though the mornings were still a bit chilly in mid April. You can even see the peak of Vesuvius from there! The property is by the busy Corso Italia, but once you pass through all the gates, you're in a quiet place, surrounded by lemon trees and listening to the birds singing. We only wished the chalet was a bit closer to the station (it's 600 meters away), as we were coming back so tired after our daily sightseeing trips. But otherwise it was perfect, we really regretted we had only 4 nights there.

A quiet oasis away from the madness of Sorrento traffic. Moderate walk to train station and center of town. The host, Ambrogio picked us up from the station and let us stay late on the last day before taking us back to the ferry terminal. Very nice of him. Apartment is clean and comfortable. Kitchen is limited to a fridge, sink and 2 burner gas cooktop but okay for breakfast and basic meals.

Our stay at Chalet Paradiso was very enjoyable. While the accommodation is entirely adequate though fairly basic, having the chalet situated within a lemon/orange grove was great - freshly picked oranges with breakfast! The kitchen facilities are limited but fine for simple breakfasts and light meals. The outdoor patio area was a bonus and so good to relax on the sun lounges in the afternoon after busy sightseeing in Sorrento,Amalfi,Pompeii etc. It's an easy walk to Sorrento's many restaurants and to the train station. We would definitely stay here again if we re-visit Sorrento and highly recommend Chalet Paradiso if you're looking for budget accommodation with heaps of privacy and plenty of birds singing!

A quiet, 'tucked away' property that is nevertheless central enough to make it a great base from which to access the centre of sorrento and the public transport links to places like Pompeii, Amalfi, Naples etc.One large room (plus bathroom and outside eating/sitting) is fine for 2/3 people. Owner Ambrogio very curteous and helpful and easily contactable during our stay. We had a great holiday and will definitely return to this property.

Everything was as described and we had an excellent stay. It was Feb and quite cold, but the heating worked well, and we were very comfortable in the chalet. It is an ideal base to travel by the Circumvesuviana train to all the ruins and Naples, only a short walk from the station and shops and plenty of affordable eating places too. Would highly recommend for a couple, probably a bit cramped with more, but we did not spend a lot of time in the chalet, mostly out and about. The owner was very helpful and picked us up from the bus station on arrival, would have taken us back to catch the return, but the road was closed for a cycle race on the morning of our return!!

A lovely little self contained studio (think wooden cabin) in a lemon/orange grove, only 10 mins walk to the centre of Sorrento (5 mins or so to the station). Ambrogio kindly picked us up and dropped us back at the station at the start and end of the stay, which was great. The chalet is basically equipped but a good size (everything bar the bathroom is in one room) and it has everything you need, including basics like oil and salt for cooking. I must say that we liked the chalet very much, but we were there at the end of November, and while the aircon also acts as heating so it wasn't cold, it did smell and feel a bit damp, although this didn't marr our holiday.

The owner, Ambroggio, could not have been more helpful. We had a problem of our making soom after we booked in and he came straight over to sort it out for us. He picked us up from the train station, and drove us back at the end of our stay. It was a very unusual type of property, but very peaceful and quiet. A real treat.there were no public areas to comment upon.

A wonderful and very secure Chalet surrounded by a natural Mediterranean orchard and secured by 3 gates no less! The pictures do not do the chalet justice - I will add some more to the google page. We had everything needed for an Italian self catering holiday, we only wished we could have stayed longer. Grazie Sig. D'Esposito!

Situated only 5 minutes from the centre of Sorrento the property was set in a beautiful, quiet lemon grove abundant with ripe fruit and birdsong. The terrace was fabulous for eating, drinking and relaxing after a busy day. The owner, Ambrogio, was very welcoming and helpful. Ideal for a romantic break or for more independent travellers. Very highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Villino Chalet Paradiso. Ambrogio was extremely friendly and helpful, picking us up from the station on arrival and dropping us back there on our way home. He explained everything in the appartment well and there was lots of info in the room about ferries, buses etc and sites to see in the local area. The appt is nicely located in his lemon grove which was a very pleasant setting and was a lovely antidote to the busy Sorrento outside (it was Easter when we went). For the price I do not think you could find a better place to stay in the area. Sorrento itself is centrally located for all the local sites, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Naples, Capri, Amalfi etc so it is a good spot to stay to access all these things. I would not have any hesitation in recommending the appartment or its owner.

Very good location. Has everything you need. Owner met us at the bus station and took us back at the end of our stay which was good. We thought it was a good place to stay as it was easy to walk everywhere in Sorrento. We stayed in Autumn and the grounds were lovely and would be even better in Summer.

The chalet is a charming oasis of calm adjoining, but removed from Sorrento's busy main street. It's in a magical grove of lemon, orange, olive and walnut trees. Our patio was covered with olives and walnuts every morning! The covered patio is a wonderful extra space where we ate every day, despite the not so great weather! It's about 8 minutes walk from the train station with half hourly connections to Naples, Pompeii, Herculaneum and Vesuvious. Plenty of bus and boat connections to other nearby attractions. Close to well-stocked supermarket, open 7 days weekly. No shortage of restaurants & pizzerias. Ambroggio, the very pleasant owner brought us to and from the train when we arrived and left. He also emailed us very useful information before we travelled, on how to get to Sorrento. Highly recommended! (One tip, the door of the chalet locks when closed and can only be opened with a key. Make sure not to lock yourslef out ..... especially in your pyjamas!!)

This was a really cute place to stay between the orange and lemon trees. Relatively close to everything and really nice having a kitchenette. Me and my girlfriend stayed here for one week. It was a wonderful little house. Quietand secluded location within walking distance to the town center and the beach. The house has a nice patio where we ate breakfast and caught a little sun in the afternoons. The house has cooking facilities, tv, cd-player and air condition. Overall a great stay!

Very nice and quiet place. We would stay here again. My only complaint is the bed was not very soft. I loved having a kitchenette and fridge since we were traveling with our baby. The owner is very friendly and helpful. He came and picked us up and then took us to the train station when we left. It is not right down town and you'll need to walk about 10 mintues to Palazzo Tasso, but the quiet area is very welcoming after a long day in town.

We stayed at the Chalet Paradiso for only 3 days in March 2010. Ambrogio is a wonderful host and has seen to every need. At booking he emailed lots of helpful info about the apt and the Sorrento area. The apt is spacious for 2 people with enough room for 3. The charming "kitchen in a closet" is well equipped for cooking and dining. The double bed is roomy and very comfortable. A wardrobe, dressers and night tables allow you to unpack and really move in. There is plenty of hot water, with good water pressure. The heater/AC unit kept us warm and dry even in the cold and stormy weather. Everything is clean and well-kept and finished with wonderful, homey touches, including beautiful tiled bathroom walls and floors throughout the apt. Thick, modern windows with adjustable shutters open on to the gardens and the attached, covered patio with table and chairs is a perfect place to relax, eat and drink in the peaceful garden setting. The location is great, just a few blocks north of the bus/train station and a couple blocks off the busy Corso d'Italia. It's an easy walk of several blocks to the historic/shopping district. A well-stocked Standa grocery store is nearby. The apt is surrounded by lemon, orange and olive trees. The gardens are peaceful and beautiful. Waking up to birdsong sure beats the roar of vespas. We thought maybe the reviews sounded too good to be true but everything was even better than we hoped. Ambrogio should be very proud of this wonderful apartment. It would be a perfect place to stay for a week or a month! We highly recommend the Chalet Paradiso to everyone as a perfect base to explore Sorrento, the Bay of Naples, the Amalfi Coast and beyond.

Ambrogio (the owner)was very welcoming and helpful. He kindly met us off the bus and took us to the property. The chalet was spotless and in a very rural location despite being 100 yards from the main street in Sorrento. Despite the rain we still managed to sit on the pretty terrace - it would be great as a summer base. The kitchen area was small but had all the facilities for making excellent breakfasts, coffee and pasta! we would definitely stay there again - a perfect base for exploring the Bay of Naples and all the famous sites and the Amalfi coast. The station and buses were a 10 minutes walk away.

Villino Chalet Paradiso is an excellent accommodation I would recommend to a single traveler or couple. It is extremely unique, as it is a small house situated in a lemon grove, although only a few minutes away from the city center. The outside terrace is very large and beautiful, a wonderful place to have breakfast or lounge. The owner Ambrogio is very detail-oriented and goes out of his way to make sure things are perfect. The small service kitchen and refrigerator are very useful. Sorrento is a great town you can use as a base to explore the Amalfi coast, visit important historic ruins and other places.

We spent a week at the chalet in early June and it was excellent as earlier reports suggest. The owner Ambrogio could not have been more more helpful, meeting us from the ferry on our arrival from Amalfi and also taking us to the train station on departure day. The chalet is just off the main street in Sorrento but you feel wonderfully secluded as it is down a 100 yd driveway and situated in the middle of a lemon grove. Its very secure though with no less than three easily managed locked gates with the keys supplied, there are private apartments along the driveway. The chalet itself is spotlessly clean , comfortable double bed , nice LCD digital TV, lots of room for 2/3 people and a nice patio area where you can sunbathe on the [2] sunloungers whilst drinking your beers from the fridge.! Cooking area is a bit limited but who eats at home in Italy? When dropping us off there Ambrogio pointed out the best local supermarket , local facilities [ laundrette , internet cafe etc] and a briilliant pizza parlour, full of Italians every night and reasonably priced food and drinks. Would return there definitely if going back to Sorrento , which is a great base to go to Pompei , Vesuvius , Naples and all the coastal towns on the Amalfi coast. Amalfi town itself is a must , its beautiful. Regular ferry there is pretty cheap. Only downside to the chalet is that the main Corsa Italia road is really busy and noisy. You can't hear a thing from the chalet but once on the road its Piccadilly circus but its only a 10 mins walk to the main square so its not a big problem. Overall would rate the accommodation as excellent value and you get a really nice personal service from Ambrogio.

Our host, Ambrogio, was the most thoughtful, attentive and obliging person of anyone we encountered throughout 3 weeks of our travels in Italy. Even with the language barrier (we know even less Italian than he did English), he was responsible for making our short stay of 4 nights perfect and wonderful, instead of what might have been merely pleasant. The chalet is extremely comfortable, charming and secure, and met every need we could have asked for with style and taste. It is absolutely peaceful, surrounded by a fairly large, shady grove and vineyard. Yet it is well located, a close and easy walk to all Sorrento has to offer. It's not likely that there might be any better accommodation in the area, regardless of price. Yet the rental fee here is unbelievably reasonable. It was perfect for our style of travel, so we could not have been happier. While Ambrogio is a soft-spoken man and didn't say, we suspect that he built the chalet himself. We noticed the excellent craftsmanship in the details. Photos do not do it justice. He should be very proud. No question that if we return, we would not hesitate to choose this again.

Great place in the middle of an orchard but only 5 mins from centre of Sorrento. Private parking and attentive ownwer. We arrived at 10 pm and left at 4 pm but the owner was extremely accomodating. Absolutely lovely, right in the middle of the town yet hidden in an orange grove. very kind owner who really went out of his way to assist us with car problems. It is very hard to find, especially after dark, its close to two petrol stations one on either side of the road but it is down the side of the Esso garage between it and a Yamaha shop with electric gates so you need to phone the owner to meet you there.

Chalet Paradiso was situated in the most tranquil surroundings we have ever encountered on holiday, yet only 5 minutes walk to the hustle and bustle of Sorrento's main square. The owner was very friendly and very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Whilst just around the corner the train and bus facilities for just a few Euro's enabled us to visit all the Amalfi Coastline and then travel to Naples to see the historic sites of Pompei and Ercolano, with the added benefit of going back to the Chalet to relax with a bottle of wine on the terrace surrounded by lemon and orange trees - We would not hesitate to return there soon
