Nice, clean and comfortable apartment. Well located. Is exactly as described. It's 200 mts from Colliseum. Good public transport and nice places to eat in the neighbour. You need to contact the owner (Chiara) to arrenge that someone will be there when you come. You can do it via sms or email. We were 3 people.

Very well placed apartment near Colosseo. Two bus-stops until Santa Maria Maggiore and San Giovanni in Laterano. Two bus stops until Metro Colosseo or Manzoni. Two bus stops until Termini Station. Basically very easy to get anywhere in the city. The apartment is with separate bedroom and kitchinette. We were 4 persons and it was really comfortable for us to stay there, we had everything we needed. In the neighbourhood we found many shops, restaurants, ice-cream and coffee shops. We would like to come back sometimes.

Really, it is a block of apartments, and each apartment is owned to a different owner! So, you have to call to the proprietor of the apartment before your arriving, because in another case you can stay on the street. And there is no signboard. You have to go thru the arch into the yard and in front of you you can see the glass door. It is.

We stayed in nice flat. There is problem with finding this accommodation, because, there is no sign Domus Clara. Only the picture of passage had hepled, but there is problem, that there is written aproximately 17. In the end we asked in Indian restaurant and recieved keys, but without identification which flat it is. After all these trable the stay was exelent.

We stay in May. Perfect location. Less than 300 meters from two metro stations. Three blocks from Colliseum. You have in front of the apartment many shops for food, internet, international calls. Supermarket three blocks. The apartment is simple but nice. One big bedroom, one big bathroom and a living room. Tips: 1)be cuatious your contact is a lovely woman named Clara...check with her by phone so you don´t waste your time waiting. 2) metro and walking is the best way to visit Rome. Enjoy Rome it´s magic !!!!

It's an ordinary apartment in an ordinary apartment building, as described, so there is no hotel service; you have to call the owner to arrange time of arrival, and call again if you changed idea or got stuck in traffic. Luggage room is 300m away from apartment, in another structure owned by the same person. And then again you have to call and arrange, and wait and call... Bathtub drain was clogged and WC seat was broken, some of those small details that can ruin your stay if you're not on the mood. But overall, the apartment is very good, a 5 min walk from the Coliseum, with lots of transportation nearby, and two subway stops away from Termini train station. And the owner was very nice and helpful, that counts a lot!

The apartment was dirty and not well kept - especially the bathroom. Toilet seat was broken. Broken light fixtures (exposed) and wall tiles. Water tank above toilet exposed, dirty dust and mold accumulation. Old used soap from previous guests were left behind (as was food in the refrigerator). Ants in the bathroom and living area. It was not a comfortable stay in any way. I would never recommend this apartment to anyone I know.

Domus Clara apartment has a very convenient location for visiting the city of Rome. Is very close to bus stations and within 10 mins walking distance to Colloseum metro station. The apartment is quiet, spacious enough for two - three persons (although the bath is accessible only from the bedroom!). Air conditioning is a big plus during the summer months, when in the afternoon it can get quite warm inside. Kitchen is small and it would be helpful to have more appliances - microwave, kettle - considering the cooking machine has no oven; you would not find too many dishes or glassware also, if you want to cook / eat in the apartment. The bathroom is OK, with permanent hot and cold water; it is a bit aged and could use more cleaning, the shower screen is a bit dodgy and maybe difficult to use. Overall, we were not very happy with the cleaning found in the apartment, besides in the kitchen and bathroom we've seen plenty of ants (I understand this is a general problem in some areas of Rome). Mauro, the owner, has been very nice and helpfull, I wish he could have speak English to be able to have a better dialogue. A note of caution regarding the exit from the apartment, since we've had an unpleasant experience - make sure you get the keys with you before you get out of the apartment, the door can close behind you, with the keys inside. Overall, we've been reasonably pleased with the apartment and would reccomend it without hesitation. Many thanks to Mauro and his wife and our best regards!

We had a hard time getting ahold of the owner to let us in as we arrived a bit ahead of schedule, however, once in, we loved it. Location was great, apt. a bit small, but within 4 blocks of the Colosseum and for that price, it was perfect!

The property is very nice and well situated. However there is no bill board to show that you are on the property, especially for a first timer in Rome. It took long before we got entrance to the property, without adequate contact. Once we got the contacts, everything fell in place and we had very great time in the accomodation, being very spacious, clean and quiet.

It was a bit hard to find, it is about 2 blocks farder from the coliseum, than it was indicated in the map. When we finally got to the door number, there were several buildings an lots of apartments, none of them listed as Domus Clara. Nobody arround knew it. We ended up calling from a neighbours celphone, and then we could finally get in. Apart from that incident on our arrival, the rest of our stay was very nice

A very nice apartment close to the Colosseum and other key sites in Rome. The apartment is well-kept, but a bit old. It was a bit cramped for our family of four, but certainly adequate for our short stay. We stayed in the heat of summer and the A/Cs easily kept the rooms cool. The bathroom is somewhat dated and could have used a bit better cleaning before our arrival. It has a kitchen, but it is pretty small (part of the entry way really) and we did not use it while we were there. The pizzeria directly below the apartment is great. The location and price are excellent and we would definitely use it again for exploring the sites of Rome. There are several restaurants and shops within walking distance.

We tryed to call the number of the owner but it was no respons at first. It took us 2 1/2 h to get the key to the apartment. This information is not avaliable on the homepage.

Our stay at Domus Clara was excellent. The appartment has two spacious rooms, one with a double bed and one with a large double bed sofa. The bathroom is also very spacious. The entire appartment seems to be freshly renovated and is very clean. There is even a balcony where you could sit in the sun. The entrance to the appartment is on the left hand side of the Indian/Italian Restaurant. Clara was not there immediately when we arrived but it was not problem as she arrived within 5 minutes after calling here. She showed us everything and gave recommendations for restaurants etc. Right accross the street there is an excellent bakery and a fruit store. There is also a supermarket close by. The location is excellent as you can walk to the nearby colloseum and many other attractions of the city.

We had a great stay! Domus Clara is a quiet, but central place. It is a nice flat - ideal, when you want to have a calm non-touristic stay. We received the keys on arrival and returned them on the last day. In between you are on your own in a nice roman flat. It was clean and the minor damages stated below (shower holder etc) were repaired. After writing an e-mail with the arrival time to chiara we didn´t have to wait for the keys. Slightly negative: we had some small ants in the kitchen, of which we got rid after one day with powder from the supermarket. There is a superb restaurant two streets away: Luzzi. Overall: Highly recommended if you are looking for an independent non-touristic rome experience.

We were very disappointed with this apartment!! We were supposed to stay another three days in November but cancelled. Chiara was two hours late to let us into the apartment. Fortunately the guys in the restaurant below were very accommodating and allowed us to wait in the restaurant. In the apartment - it had not been cleaned properly for some time> The toilet seat kept falling off. The toilet kept running continously as did the shower which we just could not turn off. We could not clip the shower to the hook as that was broken. The washing machine could not be used as it also continuously leaked. We asked the day after our arrival if we could have these problems fixed only to be told by Chiara's husband that the plunber would be there next week!! After we had left!!He had no intention of fixing anything nor did he care. This apartment should not be on Veneres web site.

Unbelievably close to Colosseum and don't forget San Clement's just around the corner! Lovely people/owner. However there seems to be some confusion over meeting up at the apartment. It should be made very clear that you need to ring them 10 to 15 mins before you arrive as they are simply not there even when you clearly state you arrival time via E-mail. (which you should still do) We had to ask for help from the restaurant owner next door as we had no phone. Also to find the place: It's only 10/15 mins walk from Termini and you pass Santa Maria Magiore on the way which is stunning. At 29 Labicana, follow the signs to the restaurant and the apartment entrance is to the left of the restaurant entrance. (Very small writing on the wall). Press it but don't expect an answer: you must ring them and they come about 15 mins later. AC noisy in bedroom and bedding not enough without it. (if the lounge is also being used for a bed) PS The restaurant is great for convenience, staff are lovely and pricing good. It is fairly basic but they do Indian too (we had a gluten free dieter with us who was well catered for) Better pizza to the left of the entrance to the Pantheon.(if facing it)

Good apartment for the price, but the apartment needs some fixing up. Chiara is very nice and helpful, but just came to give me the key and take payment. Didn't check the apartment. There wasn't even any toilet paper. A lot of little things broken like the holder for shower head (so you had to hold the shower head the entire time). Washing machine leaks into bucket and you have to empty it or it will go everywhere. Some lightbulbs out. Small things, but overall the apartment was very clean and fine. The apt is small for four people, but fine if you are just going to sleep there.

We had trouble contacting the person looking after the apartment as we were in the south of Italy. When we finally made contact the person told us the caretaker was away and that they were looking after the property. We had to wait about 40minutes for them to come and let us into the apartment because they had to travel by bus!!!!!! The apartment was small but neat, absolutely no decent running water, took all day to put enough water in the bath to actually wet yourself. The apartment was just up the road from the Colosseum, Basilica St. Clemente and Forum so was pretty central and from there you tend to walk all over Rome anyway. The washing machine tended not to spin properly and hence our clothes were wringing wet when we got them out. Took about 10 spins to get them dry enough to put out onto clothes airer, and by the way - a lovely iron but no ironing board!!!! Apartment could probably do with a bit of an overhaul before renting out again but was really nice to go down the road and buy some cereal, fruit juice, fruit and coffee and a few provisions to have at 'home'.

It was our first - but not last - trip to Rome. Fortunately we had found this lovely apartment on www.venere.com. When we arrived a nice lady waited for us, showed us the apartment and gave us the key. The location was perfect with supermarkets and restaurants just around the corner. There are only a 500 meters walk through a park to Coloseum. The centre of Rome are also within walking distance, even for our 5 and 8 year old boys! We can warmly recommend Domus Clara.

We had a wonderful stay at Domus Clara. It was very convenient to everything, yet still in a safe neighborhood area. The bus system served us very well and it was a quick walk to the grocery store from the apartment. Chiara and her husband were very helpful, even during a very busy time in their life preparing for a newborn. The apartment had everything we needed and although with older children space was a little tight, we were very comfortable in it.

The location, the area, the contact-person are goods! The condicioned air didnt work on first two days. The proposed payment form (leave cash money on table) without receave any formal paper, is not good!

We arrived at 11.30pm to find that there was no cot provided in spite of us receiving confirmation that there would be. Our baby slept on a pile of cushions for the first night & the cot arrived the next day. The person who let us into the flat didn't bother to show us how the aircon worked/where the kitchen was (behind a sliding panel)/ where the washing machine was (in a cupboard). The flat was fairly small but pleasantly furnished. The aircon was not very good. It intermittently made loud rattling noises, loud enough to waken us up, and also dripped puddles of water on our belongings. It also stopped working intermittently leading to some very sticky & uncomfortable nights. The washing machine didn't work until we worked out that we needed to turn a water valve on. When we did this water leaked all over the floor of the cupboard. The toilet was very hard to flush as the button to do this was defective. There were several cracked and missing tiles in the bathroom. There was a basic but very pleasant trattoria in the courtyard. Overall I wouldn't really recommend this apartment unless these problems were addressed. We have stayed in about a dozen different venere.com apartments over the years and this was the poorest.

Domus Clara was nicely loacted nearby Colosseum - 600 meters away only. Appartment (one bedroom and shared living/dining room) was clean. For a family of 4 - with teenage kids this was 'a bit small'- perfect stay for a couple though! Kitchenette is actually too small for proper cooking but if you only need the refridge - its just fine. Thus as a plus I can say there was a nice and reasonble priced pizzeria downs stairs, bar, fruit/vegtable shop accross the street - that was really nice. The apparment has a balcony - thus a bit too small to really enjoy it. Overall - I would stay again in Domus Clara. best regards, Riitta, Jukka, Noora and Janne from Finland.

The appartment is perfectly located a few blocks from the Coliseum. We were a group of 4 adults and the space is just perfect. Chiara gave us a very nice welcoming, and kindly program us a taxi to pick us at the airport. If you do so, just ask for someone else except Luigi, he has such a bad temper!!!!!! In front of the appartment you can easily find a fruit store and a bakery to arm an european breakfast, and at nigth just below the appartment there is a "pizzeria" were you can have a nice light italian dinner. The price we payed for this nice appartment was beyond our expectations.... You will not be desapointed!!!!!

A very nice appartment for max. 4 persons. The colosseum is very near (5 minutes by feet). All windows are in front of the courtyard and so you dont hear the sounds of the street. A small supermarket, where you can by some food, is near the appartment. For a visit in rome is this an excellent choice. I think I would come back again.

We were incredibly happy at Domus Clara. Chiara was there to welcome us and was very accomodating. The location of the apartment couldn't be better - it was half-way between the Linea A metro station and the Linea B station, and there were trams and buses along the street. It was also nice to be in a less 'touristy' area (although it's a short walk to the Colosseum!) as we were actually able to live the Italian life a little by shopping at the local shops. Also the restaurants were a little less touristy, so the prices cheaper, and the food nicer. Very happy with everything at Domus Clara, couldn't recommend it more.

We stayed for 4 nights at Domus Clara, mid June. The only problem we had was that there wasn't anyone there to meet us when we got there. We had to wait about 30 minutes, and my husband was just leaving to try to find a phone when they showed up. Also, the washing machine was broken, which was a bummer. The apartment is very small, but was fine for our needs. The kids said that the sleeper sofa was comfortable. The location was great: right down the street from the colosseum and the metro stop is right next to the colosseum. There is a grocery store down the street and a fruit market right across the street. The restaurant that is downstairs is obviously a local favorite. It was always busy and the food was good and not to expensive. For the most part the apartment was pretty quite. There was one night over the weekend that there was some sort of party going on in the restaurant and the noise was terrible. We have learned to always travel with earplugs and sleep masks. I would probably stay at Domus clara again.

We (myself, husband and daughter) had a wonderful stay at this perfect little apartment. It was spotless, comfortable and well equipped (much more so than a hotel) and in a very convenient residential neighborhood near the Colosseum. Chiara (who met us when we arrived) was very gracious about the fact that our flight got in much later than expected. It has a great balcony over a quiet courtyard where there is a good, casual restaurant. We would definitely recomment this place.

We were very happy with our stay. The location is excellent, close to many attractions, public transit is handy, grocery stores are plentiful as is the availability of restaurants. It is highly recommended!

One bedroom flat with separate bathroom, sitting room and kitchenette. Small balcony but too cold in March to sit out! Apartment in residential building with security door and lift. Building set back from main road through archway made it very quiet. Flat looked like it had just been refurbished - very fresh and clean. Nobody was present to receive us although we did arrive 45mins earlier than expected. This was a small price to pay considering overall value for money and the location - 500m from Colosseo, and not much further to everywhere else. Nice restaurant next door - recommend you try their spaghetti vongole.
