We rented the 5 person apartment at Casa Nova. Upon arrival, we received a huge welcome from Fabrizio. He asked us about our trip, walked us through the apartment, answered any of our questions, and provided suggestions for things to see in the city. The apartment is in a great spot and just 1 block north of Piazza Navona (only downside is that it is not near a subway stop). Downstairs from the apartment is an amazing pizza shop that sells cheap slices of pizza (try their sausage and potato pizza). Apartment is in great shape and provides all of the expected amenities. Only downside is that you have to pay the city tax in cash (per Roman law), as well as additional fees for checking in on Sunday, or early in the morning, etc. I don't remember seeing this on the website, but they are detailed in the welcome email once you book the apartment. Satellite TV dropped out quite a bit.

I stayed here in October of 2010 (sorry, pretty late review) but don't worry, I remember my stay. The hotel location is excellent, right at the top of Piazza Navona. This is a apartment, not a hotel, so don't except a front desk or tourist recommendations. You have to call to arrange a meeting time to get the key. You pay up front in euros and you leave the key when you depart...right up my alley because I am so not needy! My only issue which was my fault due to booking an early tour, was that I had to change my meeting time to pick up the key so I had to wait outside for the lady to come. The nice lady who brought my key had told me to go to the pizza place downstairs and tell them to let me in, but they really didn't speak english and the pizza shop owner tried to hit on me instead of helping me...got to love Italian men! Once it started raining I went back to the pizza place and they finally understood and had a older Italian customer walk me over to the antique shop in the Piazza and leave my luggage there...ummm ok, when in Rome right? Anyway, enough with the randomness. The apartment had a living room, little kitchen and bedroom. It was clean, and there are a couple of flights of narrow stairs so not for the frail or handicapped. It was surprisingly quiet with the windows shut and I would recommend and stay again...see I remember well!

We booked the Casa Navona 2, but ended up being put in the Casa Navona 3 (we think there was a mix-up between us and other travellers arriving at the same time). The apartment was very spacious with a living room, bedroom, bathroom, and small kitchenette area with two burner stove, sink, and undercabinet refrigerator. This apartment could easily have slept 5 (2 in the double [queen bed in USA], 2 on the pullout couch, and 1 on the pullout bed). It was much more space then we really actually needed, but the location and value were great and the space a bonus. The drawbacks were the stairs leading up to the apartment were very steep due to the age of the building, and the unit had it's own electric hot water tank that held 15-20 minutes of hot water at a time with a long reheat time. If a family of 4 were staying here the best bet would be for two to shower at night and two in the morning. Even with those two drawbacks, this was still an excellent value and location and we would definitely stay here again. Also worth noting is that there is a city taxi stand right across the street which was very handy for arrival and departure since we only had to take out bags across the street.

Excellent location in middle of city, easy to walk to most locations. Reservation stated Casa Novana 2 which we assumed to be second floor and it is the number of the apt. on 2nd floor, but were put on 4th floor in Apt. 4. Hard to access via narrow, steep stairs. Water pressure sometimes zero if others below were using showers or sinks. TV never worked. WiFi service good and reasonable fee. Floor very dirty. Arrived with no one to meet us - waited on sidewalk for 20 minutes to get in. Kitchen poorly equipped - teflon pans so scratched we wouldn't use, for 4 people barely enough dishes. OK value for cost.

i stayed at casa navona with my wife and two kids. my observations are : 1. the location is excellent, one can cover half of the important locations on foot. 2. the room is on top floor and if you are not totally fit or have elderly person or kids along or if you plan to come back to the room more than twice a day, this accomodation is NOT for you. 3. the kitchen is too small, extremely difficult if you plan to cook complete food, otherwise ok for heating precooked food.

We were in Apartment 4. The property is perfectly located just off Piazza Navona. 69 stairs to the top so be prepared for a good workout. AC worked very well and kept the July heat outside. We arrived earlier than we were expected but had no problem leaving our luggage while they continued to prepare the apartment. We will stay here again.

We stayed five nights on November. The room was superb, more like an apartment with 2 separate rooms. Narrow stairs took us to the top floor. The stairs may be too much trouble for elderly or snall children, so we recommend to choose the room from lower floor. The surroundings excellent, just a few steps from Piazza Navona, with plenty of nice restaurants, groceries, cafes etc.

The short version of my review is that Casa Navona 2 is a terrific place to stay in Rome and I highly recommend it. Now here is my "long" review: Casa Navona 2 is located in a very convenient and safe part of Rome, just across the street from Piazza Navona, a very lively and colorful area bustling with activity almost from morning to night. The area has excellent restaurants (and pizza!), a wonderful bakery, delicious gelato, terrific expresso and cappucino shops, small grocers and boutique shops within an easy walk, buses to most parts of the city a block away, and a taxi stand just across the street. For arrival you contact Serena and either she, or an associate Fabrizzio, arrange to meet you at the building. Both are very helpful, kind, and considerate. They do everything possible to make the stay comfortable and Sarena keeps in regular contact with you during your stay. The apartment itself is well furnished and equipped. There is ample closet space, very good bathroom facilities, and a small kitchen area that we used mainly for small meals since it has a two electric burner stove and under cabinet refrigerator. It is equipped with cooking utensils, pots and pans, and dishware. Two small grocers are about three to four blocks away, a fairly easy walk. The apartment has very good heating which we used as needed during our two weeks in April. The television has many cable channels which we could not completely figure out, and only a few are in English. (but it is a good way to brush up on Italian). Although the area is busy particularly in the evenings, the apartment is quiet when the windows are closed but there was hammering early in the morning on several days which we believe was due to renovations in another unit of the building. It was fun to look out the windows and people watch at almost any time of the day or night. The apartment does not have a telephone, but there is high speed internet access which we used regularly. we did use our o

This hotel was in a fabulous location...steps away from Piazza Navona. We had plenty of room in the bedroom and living area. The kitchen was small but served our needs. Everything was supplied, including towels, coffee pot, etc. We had a bit of a snag meeting the person who was supposed to give us the key. He wasn't at the apartment to greet us and we had to wait about 15 minutes in the rain. Once there, he was informative and helpful. Also, drilling started in what sounded like the apartment above us at 7:30 the next morning. It didn't bother us because we were awake, but I thought it was quite early for construction. This apartment is on the bus line but not near the metro. I would gladly recommend it. Beware in the summer. Street noise was loud if you had the windows open, and I don't think the apartment had a.c.

Thank you Serena for a wonderful stay in Rome. We are a family of 5 (3 small children) who had a lovely stay at casa Navona. Location was PERFECT! Restaurants close by were excellent and reasonably priced. Serena was very helpful and courteous. We added on the wireless internet and car service to the airport which was great. We very much enjoyed the apartment, clean, spacious, great views of the piazza. Probablyu would be loud in the summer as you would need the wondows open, however the excitement of the piazza is part of why you would choose there.. so would we stay again, Yes. Would we recommend, yes!

This was the first time we stayed at Apartment Casa Navona. The location is wonderful, and the apartment has ample space and was clean. We appreciated the kitchen facilities very much. The noise level above a busy street was fine with the windows closed. Staff was very friendly. Steps to apartment are steep.

The apartment was very comfortable and in a great location for sightseeing. It was very quiet in the apartment when the windows were closed, which was fine during late October and early November. In the summer, it might be less comfortable if the windows needed to be open. We would definitely recommend this apartment to others.

I was actually in Casa Navona 4 not Casa Navona 2, though that was the apartment I had booked. Instead we were on the fourth floor. The location is well - perfect. It just doesn't get much better. It is far enough off the Piazza that you don't get the noise but close to everything so easy to drop in and drop out of during the day. Even though there are no staff on the premises, I think the owner/manager went out of her way. The gentlemen at the antique stores (Piazza Navona 52) are also delightful and very, very helpful. I would recommend it to anyone and if I get the chance to go back to Rome again for pleasure (rather than business), I would check to see if there are vacancies at Casa Navona for sure! Thank you Serena and Emmanuel.

We had a great stay in this city apartment just outside of the Piazza Navona. There were 3 of us, my wife and adult daughter. My wife and I slept in the master bedroom and my daughter slept on the pullout couch in the living room. The first night was a little noisy for her, but the second night, we closed the shutters on the street side and it was much better. The renter of the apartment was very nice and pleasant to deal with. The location was amazing, couldn't have been better, and was an easy walk to all of the historic sites, and a quick bus ride to the Colosseum. Would recommend for someone looking for a good location, accommodations are a bit tight, but fine if you're planning to spend most of your time out and about.

I didn't really believe how positive other reviewers were - until I went to Casa Navona myself. High-quality, comfortable bed & sofabed and tasteful furnishing, extremely friendly & helpful staff - not the feeling of being ripped off that I'm afraid previous times in Rome led me to expect. Excellent value compared to a traditional hotel room, all prepared with a cot for the 6-month-old. The kitchenette is very basic, with 2 hotplates and a fridge (and sink!). Appliances are kettle, toaster & stove=top espresso maker. So if you go to the nearby "Rosticerri" in Corsa del Rinascamento make sure they get your food piping hot (not a proper rosticceria, no roast chickens, but posh ready to eat nosh.) Also don't miss in the Corsa del R. "Pasticceria Cinque Lune" (left out the door, then on the right 70 metres past tourist info kiosk). Continue about 100 metres past the little supermarket Serena told us about and there is "Gelateria del Teatro" down a little road to the left - we didn't manage to get there but it's artisan quality stuff according to the sign. Casa Navona is just next to a shop with tourist tat, close to the pedestrian crossing that leads to the northern end of Piazza Navona. Despite the address, it is not on a Piazza. The very nearest bus routes are 30, 70, 81, 130, 492 and 628 (again, in the C. del R.). No teabags, sugar or coffee but sachets of shampoo and shower gel. The stairs are quite tight with kids and the exterior door needs to be closed carefully (hence my rating). The internet router was twinkling away in the cupboard but we didn't need it. I would recommend this to anyone.

Great apartment, great surroundings and very friendly staff. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Rome. However I might not go there in the summer, since the Piazza navona is so overcrowded at that time and you can't open the windows. But for the rest of the year it's excellent!

our stay at Casa Navona was fantastic! The apartment was really lovely. The staff wonderful. We forgot to phone when our flight was delayed, and they waited for 2 hours for us. My apartment in Casa Navona #2 was excellent. The location absolutely could not be beat. You literally crossed the street and you were in Piazza Navona, one of the most picturesque piazzas in Rome. From the window of the apartment you could see the ruins of the stadium upon which the piazza was built. The apartment itself was safe, immaculate, comfortable, well stocked and spacious. Although my train into Rome was late and I wasn't able to send a message that I would not be able to meet at the assigned check-in time, the management was gracious and check-in was speedy. Like others have said, you will need to be able to navigate narrow stairs and the heater for the shower is a bit of a puzzle. Quite frankly, given the positives of the apartment, you'll be too delighted with Rome and the apartment to be bothered for long. I will definitely return again. Grazie mille.

Casa Navona is located on the doorstep of Piazza Navona right in the centre of Rome and ideal for any tourist wanting to make the most of a long weekend. The property was extremely clean and the owner very accommodating. We were able to leave our bags on the final day through into the evening which was a great convenience to make the last few hours productive. There is one double bed, one double sofa bed and one single pull out bed (though request extra sheets for these). There are many steep stairs up the communal hallway but this is traditional for Roman apartments. I would highly recommend this apartment and should I go back to Rome it will be the first number I call.

- very good information on email from the hotel with description of how we should go by train/tram from the airport to the hotel. - the apartment is located very closed to Piazza Navona, and we could walk to all the famous tourist attractions. - drawbacks: - the stairs up to the apartment was very hard to walk; narrow stonestairs with high steps. - our apartment was in 4.floor, not in 2.floor as in the description - we didn't found any aircondition, and the apartment was very hot in the nights. Noisy with open windows. - but in spite of this drawbacks, we enjoyed the apartment very much, and we would like to stay there again.

We have been to Rome many times and by far this is the best accommodation we have found, and we will definitely return there. The location is perfect, and any concerns about noise were taken away by the shuttered windows. It features AC, spacious rooms, well-equipped kitchen, great closet. If I wanted to nitpick, I would ask for a hair dryer and a second set of keys. Be forwarned, it is a walk-up, so those with a medical condition will want to stay on the lower floors. Great stay, wonderful people.

Superb location, within sight of Pza Navona and genuinely walking distance to all the major sights. Everything in apartment was very clean and tidy, it all sems new. Air con could be better but OK. Claudio is on hand 5 mins away and he could not have been more helpful, inspite of limited English spoken, he is a real gem. Noisy with windows open but not an issue at all with double glazed windows closed. Sofa bed was quality and comfortable, unlike many lightweight ones. Kitchen a bit cramped for longer stays.
