Agathi Studios - Haraki, Rhodes

Been to Haraki eight times, but this was the first time at Agathi Studios. The owner couldn't have done more for us - including waiting in the heat of a late night to welcome us following a delay due to car hire issues. This was the largest room we have stayed in with a massive balcony and raised king-sized bed. Sheets and towels were changed at least twice a week, and the room was very clean. Air con was really necessary in mid-August, and this was very reasonably priced. We were provided with produce from the owners garden as well as with samples of her home baking. The studios are in easy waking distance of Agathi beach and Haraki itself, though again, in mid-summer, a car is pretty valuable. Haraki is at its best in Spring and Autumn, but even in mid-season is still relatively unspoiled. There is some gorgeous scenery inland and the beaches on the West coast are virtually undiscovered, and cooler with a relatively constant breeze. Midsummer is a time when the popular spots - Lindos, Butterfly Valley, Seven Springs and so on, are best avoided as they are really packed. Rhodes town is always worth a trip - and make the effort to find Socratous Garden in the Old Town.
