Compact apartment in lovely area spoiled by bad management Things started badly because we had to collect the apartment key from a hotel miles away from our actual apartment. We would have to drag our bags up the massive hill that the Sacre Coeur is built on. So in reality its a long taxi ride around the one-way streets of Montmartre between your check in and your room. The management should obviously arrange some other method of key collection. The apartment (a single room up a tight spiral staircase) is called Sacre Coeur with no views of anything except a light well. It is a very quiet area though. The real killer blow for us was that the room only has 2 tiny single beds of a very low quality with cheap bedlinen and pathetic pillows. When it was pointed out to the management that a double bed was requested they just said it was our problem as no alternative rooms were now available in Paris. Furthermore the shower water ran out after one quick shower. Just stay away from this one until the management changes.

I was in Paris for 5 days, it was my second time, and I decided to book an apartment to contain the costs of food, the apartment in question is halfway between Montmartre and the Pigalle district (very close to the two metro stations, Abesses and Blanche), the exact street is rue Veron. The shops in the area allow you to buy everything you need for cooking, even late at night, the apartment is on the first floor of an old building, overlooking the tiny tiny cloister. The toilet in the apartment, is separated from the shower and the shower has no door, so careful if you travel with someone you are not intimate. I recommend it for the wonderful location, and for those who travel on low cost, but also want to have comfort.

We loved our little Studio Apartment. It was decorated as a cute romantic getaway in Paris. It was perfect for our visit and being able to make breakfast was great. The apartment was the same price as a hotel, but having a little kitchen was a huge plus. The bathroom was tiny and the internet came and went a little, but it wasn't a problem at all. There was no oil, salt, or pepper provided - be prepared to purchase some on your arrival or bring some with you.

The room is less than tiny. If you don't need a mirror for shaving, if you don't care about a slow drain and an even slower toilet flush and if a dirty staircase is ok for you this is a fine room.

We chose the Amelie Poulain Studio for a short city break in June 2011. The studio was well equipped, nicely decorated but rather compact (having said that, you got more space than if renting a hotel room!). Access was a bit of a struggle with a heavy suitcase as it's at the top of 4 flights of spiral stairs. We found the apartment to be very comfortable and perfect for our needs. It was surprisingly quiet for being in a city centre location (apart from 1 night when the neighbours below had a party!). The studio is on the same street as the 2 Windmills Cafe, where the film 'Amelie' was set and a short walking distance from Blanche metro and The Moulin Rouge. It's right in the heart of Montmartre with everything you could need on the doorstep - boulangerie, supermarket, ATM, tabac etc. There are tons of nice restaurants/cafes in the area too. We arrived late evening and had to collect our key from a nearby hotel which had been pre-arranged via e-mail. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Smelly, humid, small basement, not appartment as described. So much noise, so i hardly slept the last night of the stay, noise from very drunk neighboors all night through. Not good!!! And dont ever call it an appartment, when it is a basement, and dont write its wird a garden, its not, its a yard.
