we had tremendous difficulty finding the B&B, and then could not contact the owner, or get the owner to open it for us (due to being on a Sunday). After standing around, someone came out of the building, and we looked into the courtyard briefly- it did not look very inviting. We finally contacted the owner, and canceled our reservation.

There are two locations for this property. Even though we had a reservation for a specific address, the owner had overbooked it, and moved us to another location across town. The area was not really a good part of town, of course, there really isn't a good part of town in Naples. I was really displeased with being moved across town, but the owner was nice enough to give us a night free for our trouble. The rooms were clean, and so was the shower. The linens were stained in some places, so be sure to bring and use your sleep sack! Due to the issues of overbooking and being moved to a different location, I probably would not stay here again. Other than that, it was okay.

Hello, It was my first time in Italy at all, and in Napoli as well. The B&B was very nice, although the building where the rooms are at the moment are under reconstruction. Otherwise some of the neighbours are a bit noisy, especially around midnight, when they are returning from the normal italian night:) For fast accomodation arrangements and availability is this B&B very recommended.

The room/studio is in a very quiet area near the sea. It is not easy to find! (Leave the metro at Amedeo and walk straight to the end of the road/roundabout - turn right into Via Guiseppe Martucci, after that ask!)The metro is about 5 minutes walk away, as is the Funicular and there are buses along the water front (which I never used). The room/studio is actually located in an old residential apartment block. If you want authentic, this is it. The surroundings are also residential. There is a pizza restuarant nearby (didn't try it) and a supermarket for all your supplies on Via Guiseppe Martucci - look out for it, it is kind of hidden. This is the area that is known for its antique dealers and furniture restorers and you will see them at work as you walk to the apartment. There is also a bar (didn't try it) and the aprtment is also close to a park on the water front - I've forgotten the name, but it features in the guide books - not very interesting. The castle Del Nuovo is interesting though. I stayed in aprtment 2 which is the one with the 'white' chairs. I had requested aprtment 1 or 3. Advantages of the apartment; sleeps four, clean, you can cook, close to public transport and most important of all - Quiet! (oh actually you can hear what is happening next door and one night we had a very irrate Italian woman shouting for what seemed like an eternity) Disadvantages; there was no toilet paper, mathes, or washing up liquid when we arrived. When we left the cleaner brought some; not much use for us, but maybe there'll be some there when you arrive; you have been warned though! Stairs, stairs and more stairs. The apartment is on the 4th floor, not easy to climb when you are tired. Then there are the stairs in the apartment, not safe for young children, or those unsteady on their feet. The 'white' chair covers needed laundering. The toilet is upstairs and the shower downstairs (apartment 2) - a tad confusing. But all in all I wou

Not easy to find, but after you realise that a set of stairs is called a street in Naples things get easier, but this is all part of the fun. Do not judge the book by its cover! The first impression of the building and the 114 stairs can be a shock, but what awaits you after that is a real (large!) gem for the price. The apartment is large, neat and well equipped for semi-self catering. The apartment is a duplex with the bed upstairs. The apartment was about the size of the whole hotel we had in Rome at half the price. We don’t know why people complain about Naples. After the really annoying rush of tourists and queuing of Rome, Naples was refreshing and beautiful, but be prepared to walk and climb stairs. People are a lot friendlier and helpful in Naples although English is not always spoken. We will definitely return to Naples and the B&B Mergellina! PS there is a very good Pizzeria just up the road across the Santa Maria church that is cheap.

A very charming room with all accomodations. Very good choice for a stay of 4 days or more.

Excellente prestation, rapport/qualité prix très intéressant, attention cependant aux 5 étages à monter et sécurité restreinte si vous avez de enfant (fenêtre non protégée).

Great place but: - on the fifth floor, without lift - breakfast served at the bar a little bit further on the street(meaning a real italian breakfast, which is great but you have to go out to take it ! On the other hand, you may have it from 7 to 11 AM)
