The inn Osteria del Borgo is administered by Mrs. Nadia. The guestrooms are located in a historical medieval building near Piazza Grande, in the heart of Montepulciano’s historical center. It was recently restored and it’s composed of 2 very elegant and refined apartments.

The apartment that faces Via Ricci is on two levels; on the first floor we have a double room with a full bath and a hydro massage shower cabin, and a very bright and cozy living room with a kitchen corner. On the second floor you can find a double and single room with a private bath and a whirlpool tub. Also, the traditional Tuscan furnishings with corners apt for reading or just simply for relaxing make you feel as if you were at home. The entire living quarters has wooden floors and linings; there is also a living room with an old fireplace which constitutes the heart of the room itself.

The apartment that faces the hills of Siena offers an enchanting view to the wandering eye. The apartment is also on two levels; on the first floor there is a bedroom with a small living room and a bath with a hydro massage shower cabin. The living room has a loft with a kitchen corner. On the second floor there are two double bedrooms with baths and hydro massage shower cabins.

On the ground floor you will find the tavern, also known in Italian as the Osteria, an architectural structure with barrel vaults that must probably date back to the Etruscan era and a breath-taking terrace that attracts tourists from all around the world. The location of the building offers our guests the possibility of visiting the historical center on foot and in the summer season our Piazza Grande (our main square) plays host to a variety of musical and theatrical events, an assurance that your nights will be unforgettable. For those guests traveling by car, free parking is available.

Fantastic room, very nice staff, perfect location. Wonderful veranda with nice view. The breakfast could have been a bit richer, but the capuccino was very good!

I've visited Osteria del Borgo with my wife. The location of the hotel was perfect, right to the Piazza Grande. Room was great. Good in size and with lounge area overlooking the fields. The bathroom wasn't in the room but was private. The only disadvantage was noise due to construction works on site but that is only temporary. I would recommend that place to stay.

This was the last on a 10-day Italian trip with our in-laws visiting from the US and it could not have been nicer! The rooms (apartments, really) were huge and comfortable. The location was ideal and included convenient, close, free parking!! The family was terrific and the wine cellar top-notch. I WILL stay here again and again!!

This our first time to Montepulciano and we found the Hotel Osteria del borgo was excellent. The views from our room were unbelievable. It was a long climb up to the Hotel and it was only after that we found there was a bus but this wasn't generally broadcast. The restaurant at hotel was a bit restricted but we found the food quite pleasant. We would definately recommend this hotel to anyone going to Montepulicano.

We got the double room, which was very spacious with a fantastic view from the sitting area. The bathroom is exclusive to this room, but located outside in the hallway. You will be given a ring of keys for the several locked doors you will need to get to this room. And, be prepared to carry your luggage up several flights of stairs. We had a very pleasant stay other than a few hiccups. We were unable to figure out how to turn the heat off in the bathroom, which was so hot it kept the entire hallway hot as well. This was difficult as temperatures were quite hot outside as well. The family who runs this is very friendly and accommodating, however, there are some who speak zero English. This caused some difficulty when trying to communicate as our Italian is very limited. There is usually an employee working that speaks English, but if you need something early in the morning or later in the evening, you may have some difficulty with communication.

Fabulous and a Must Stay accommodation. Wow, the beauty of the location, spaciousness of the apartment and friendliness of staff and locals made our stay a real highlight. We would highly recommend a stay here. There is a local bus (orange) that runs from the main bus terminal to the top of Montepulciano, the Grande Piazza every 20 minutes, so much easier than walking with your luggage. We stayed there to explore by car the region. It is not an hotel as such but a b&b type accommodation where you get your room and cleaning service is at the end of the stay. No problem for us. We got the room with the great view as shown on their site. If you have heavy luggage, it's quite a task to go up 3 floors. The bathroom is in the hallway but is private to the room. You are given 5 keys, one to open main grill downstair door, one for second floor, one for third floor, one for bedroom, one for bathroom. We got used to it and laughed about it. Room and bathroom are quite large, shower is thight. One staff at beginning of stay spoke english but we never saw her after. Staff do not speak much english but compensate for their kindness and attention. Continental breakfast consist of coffee and croissant. Could benefit from additional item such as glass of orange juice. The place is at the top of this wonderful town right on the piazza del Duomo. So it's all downhill to go everywhere, you've got to get back up. The town has a minibus service for the faint of hearth. They have free parking, a real bonus. Overall, great experience, both with accommodation, Montepulciano sunsets, striking southern Tuscany, kind locals.

Without doubt one of the best places we have ever stayed. No, you will not find servants waiting on you hand and foot, but what you will find is a beautiful, spacious room that is very well equipped. Great FREE wireless access. Wonderful osteria (cafe) downstairs. Beautiful folks run this accommodation and though they speak very little English, they are helpful in every possible way. Did I mention great shower? Or the AMAZING view from the terrace of the cafe? How about the fact that is it literally steps from the Piazza Grande? All are true. If you go to Montepulciano and would like to stay in the heart of it all (especially for you New Moon Twihards) This is THE place. Cautionary note: When taking the bus do NOT get off at the stop for the historical district like my wife and I (and our 3 bags) did. Ride the bus to the main station. From there, take the ORANGE bus to Piazza Grande (it costs all of one Euro). After exiting the bus, walk directly past the clock Tower, the hotel will be on the left just past an outdoor cafe. Do not walk past the church, that is the wrong direction. If you get off at the historical district stop, you will have a very arduous climb up to the top of the town. Nearly done me (and the missus) in!!! Anyhow, we love the Osteria Del Borgo so much we are changing our travel arrangements in order to go back!!!

We stayed one night with our baby girl aged of 8 month in the osteria, after many difficulties we found the osteria (this was never indicated) I would not recommend the osteria with young children, there is no lift, no facilities as baby bed or any thing made for babies. We were on third floor, the room was very nice, the view amazing (this is well the best point of this hotel) but it was almost impossible for me without help of someone to do something with my baby, as I simply couldn't bring the chair or the buggy in the room or in the restaurant. Also our bathroom was in another room, we had to pass a public area to access it, charming but not practical at all!!!! So definitely this is an hotel for couple or friends not family. The cleanless of the room was also not good but still ok. The location of the osteria is amazing and only for this if I would recommend it.

The location of Osteria del Borgo is superb as it is in the centre of Montepulciano and close to all the sights. Free parking was an advantage! Our room had a magnificent view over the surrounding countryside. The staff were helpful and friendly. The only (minor) drawback was that our private shower room was next door off a corridor shared with the adjacent apartment. Highly recommended!

Super large and well equiped apt (for 6 people). Access by car is part of the experience (narrow winding streets to the top of town)! Could be cleaner but still a good value. Location and breakfast are perfect.

Magnificent kind from the windows, tremendous design, a worthy choice of faults in the osteria, if we shall travel across Tuscany only there.

The hightlight of the trip: Our apartment was very roomy and cozy and had a sleeping room and two bathrooms, one with a jacuzzi. It seems very recently renovated. Initially we had booked for two days, but liked the apartment so much that we extended the stay for two more days. The upper apartment has a view, and the sunset in the restaurant terrace was spectacular.
