Casale Villarena - Nerano, Massa Lubrense

What a GEM! We stayed at the Casale Villarena for 4 nights in October and just loved it! It was a bit off the beaten path, but that’s what made it so special...magical almost. Our room was spacious, clean and opened up to the garden; which was just beautiful. I would most definitely recommend Casale Villarena to family and friends. There was a tiny misunderstanding in the beginning, but Guglielmo (the owner) cleared everything up and even offered us a delicious lunch of fresh local foods (Caprese was divine!). By the time we left we knew we just had to return! The best part as others have mentioned was Guglielmo. He made us feel so welcomed and went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and had an enjoyable time. He booked us a ferry to Capri and arranged to have someone pick us up from the residence at no extra charge. He even drove us to the Sorrento train station one day. Great guy! Great place! Can’t wait to go back! -- P.S. If there is a wine tasting during your stay (usually high season), don’t pass it up… it was informative, delicious and fun!

We spent our honeymoon here, and the proprietors made it that extra bit special - we will always remember them, consequently. The location was also idyllic and the locals friendly. We also enjoyed beautiful weather - wall-to-wall sunshine for 7 days! Thank you.

When we stepped out on the tiled patio of our apartment, I told my wife: "This is the most beautiful place I've ever been." And that includes extensive travel on three continents. As beautiful as the view was—including the Sireneuse islands, fragrant lemon groves, a beautiful harbor, and towering limestone cliffs—the people on hand were even moreso. We were amply welcomed and supported by the owner Giugliemo and his housekeeper Rosa, who arranged for a home-cooked ORGANIC Italian feast in their garden. Nerano is a small town, with a very persistant bell tower chiming the hours and half hours (couldn't they shut it off at night?), and we fell in love with it. Easy access to the whole Amalfi peninsula, and the most amazing walking paths heading into the mountains. It couldn't have been a better 20th wedding anniversary trip for my wife and me.
