Hyde Park Suites - Apartments - London

This was an absolutely appalling experience. First, we were given the wrong address. Check in is at 55 Inverness. The room was in 81. The room was up a narrow, filthy staircase. No point trying to take the elevator which was tiny and required walking down more stairs. The room was tiny, airless and smelled horrible. We could not open the window because the sash was broken. There was no hot water and we had to wait for it to be fixed. We only had one key for the first day and the intercom didn't work. It was too late by the time they produced a second. There was no phone. Even though we had prepaid we considered moving out. It was just too much trouble so we stayed. On our way back through London we found a beautiful large and luxurious room in a lovely hotel with all amenities for the same price. We feel entirely misled by the website and believe there should be some recourse.

Staff were quite unfriendly. Our ceiling began to leak our first night there and it took them 2 days to fix it - we also recieved no compensation for it. We had to request more towels and toilet paper as no cleaning service was provided for the entire stay. The only saving quality these apartments had was their excellent location but it comes at a major price as the quality of this accomodation is less than impressing.

Well located and practical for a short week-end. Close to Hyde Park and to the metro station. The kitchen is normaly equiped with a micro-onde and the bathroom had also a phon. The room was clean and the use of a domestic iron was possible. Unfortunatly, the room was really small and the bathroom also. The mattress of the bed was cheap and not a good quality mattress. The TV was working but for some reason it was not possible to see any channels. The window was broken and with small infiltration of air. The view of the room was bad (view to a whole space full of garbages). The people at the reception were unfriendly and had no "service attitude": another customer complained about the TV not working and they said that they should have been informed before, I complained about the TV not working and they said that it was not possible as the TV was new. well, they seem not willing to help or improve the service in general. Last thing, the elevator is so slow that you are faster taking the stairs. I would recommand this hotel in case of no other better choices and only for one short weekend.
