Astons Apartments - London

The room was quite clean, only the bathroom, a bit of dark stains on the shower.The area is very nice. I used to live in High Street Kensington not to far from the hotel so I know quite well the area and I am always very please to go there. Negative points: 1) the staff, they don't make you feel really welcome. They don't sound really really professional compare to the hotel staff. I waited at least 20 minutes before somebody take care of my booking and there were no other clients at that moment :-/. 2) The internet did not work at all, and I paid 12 pounds for 3 days. I called the reception on the very first day to ask why it is so slow. They said it is because a lot of people are trying to connect. I went out and went back late, from midnight to 2 I tried quite a lot, it worked very very slowly. I went at 10 the next day at the reception to tell them directly, it was another excuse, because of BT this time, but the man assure me he will write it on my booking in order they can refund me at the check out. On Saturday while checking-out, a Spanish girl (staff member) told me she could not see anything on my booking so she will contact me on Monday once she has double-checked with her colleague. Today we are Thursday 13th of october, no news from them so I imagine they don't have the intention to refund me anything. I went to Hammersmith Library and for free I was able to check my emails. What a shame for a so called 4 stars apartment, I am very disappointed. I will not recommend this hotel to any friends or family, and even myself I go quite often to London because I love this city where I have plenty of friends I will not return. For the same price or less expensive I could have a 4 stars hotel with breakfast and with honest and professional staff.

I have stayed at Astons before on my own. This time I came with my wife and would be pleased to stay there again.

La habitación para 4 personas disponía de un sofá-cama en el cual no pudimos dormir la primera noche (toda la noche sin dormir), incomodísimo, ruidoso. Toda la noche sin descansar y el día siguiente lo perdimos por tener que estar pendientes del cambio del sofa por dos camas, reduciendo el espacio del apartamento. Muy caro para la calidad ofrecida.

Very good value - Very clean - Only spoiled by one noisy night caused by a party on the balcony of an adjoining property. I would definately stay there again

The room was very small, despite having apparently been "upgraded" to a twin room this was not suitable for 2 people. The carpet was sticky and I would not walk on it without something on my feet. There was a very tatty table and chairs, the seats of both chairs were badly stained and therefore I spent my time in the room sitting on the bed. The room generally was very tatty and parts of the curtains had fallen off the rails and the hems were down in parts. The bathroom was basically a part of the room that has been sectioned off with shower, toilet and basin all in one very small space. I would certainly not return nor would I recommend this property to anyone. The only saving grace was the location which was very close to a tube station which was on a direct line from Heathrow.

nice place in the South Kensigton-Chelsea area. Lots of pubs and supermarkets open 24/24 near the apartments.

Simple use of the toaster let the fire alarm "explode" - it was impossible to use the toaster without alarm. That was quite bothersome. 62 steps to the appartment was a good exercise :-) We enjoyed our stay and would certainly consider coming back to Astons when in London again.

long walk up to 5th floor with luggage, internet did not work in room, used lobby computer, friendly and helpful staff. room very small, bathroom even smalller, good location

The apartment was correct. Quite street, nice building, nice surrondings...But the bathroom was incredibly small. It was very difficoult to move inside that little box. Anyway, we enjoyed our stay in London.

We think relantionship between price/quality could be improoved, regarding the size of the double bed rooms and the inexistence of a lift. Otherwise we loved it and hope to come back.

Hammering noise from piping. Woke us up in the morning. Web pages says internett services. This was not correct. There was no wireless, no hardwiring to the rooms, no PC's available for guests. We were told that if we wanted to send a mail we could borrow one of the office PC's! We brought two laptops from Norway and could not use them. Location in the city was good.

The location - South Kensington, was great as handy to Glouster Road tube station, cafes, banks, though we thought it was rather pricey on Australian standards for what you got.

overall exceptionally clean, fantastic location , on the negative side rooms small,and limited hot water on the night.unexpected deposit of £50 for room key, which was returned at the end of our stay.

The toilet is the worst, it's impossible to take a shower because is small. There are only three channels on the TV and there aren't enought kitchen tools for cooking.

Expensive but what you would expect to get in London for the money. Pubs nearby all excellent and a great location if you're planning to take in The Natural History Museum and The V&A. Gloucester Road tube is within easy walking distance.
