Vacation Rental Vila Marta - Funchal

We stayed for one week,the Vila Marta wasvery good value quiet and clean. To go to Funchal ciy centre was 15 mins by bus ,there were no cafes or restaurants nearby but the bus stop was close.We had a well stocked breakfast welcome pack on arrival and fresh rolls every morning.

First of all I'd like to highlight that the family was very helpful and they gave a lot of advice regarding places to go, when to go there, where to park the car etc. When the weather wasn't too good they offered to look up the webcams on the internet to get an idea about where to go. You should be aware that the TV weather forecast is limited to the weather in Funchal. Additionally the owner drove me to/from the harbour in order to get to Porto Santo even though it was early in the morning and he had just returned from a short vacation. At this point I refrain from continuing the list as they were really very helpful! Apart from this the room was quite spacious, the bath clean, the kitchen was equipped well and there's everything you might need for your FIRST breakfast, i.e. jam, butter and milk. Rolls are provided every morning. You only need to take along coffee, coffee filter and or tea. Even though the city centre is not in walking distance it is easily reachable by car. The same is true for the motorway and the supermarket (with free parking area).

We really enjoyed our week at the Vila Marta. It was quite difficult to find as the Sat Nav was confused by the new roads! However once we found our way it was a great place from which to explore the island having easy access to the VR1 main road. The owners were very helpful, caring and could not do enough to make our stay a pleasant one. Fresh bread in th mornings, hanging on the door knob was very welcome. The studios were adequate with a good balcony overlooking the see. I would stay ther again and recommend Vila Marta to others!

This was our second visit to Villa Marta and we remain as enthusiastic as before about the quality, cleanliness and above all the commitment of the owner and his family to make you feel welcome. With a Levada within 5 minutes walk of Villa Marta and easy access to cheap buses by buying a multi trip pass this is an excellent location from which to experience Funchal and surrounding areas. The local knowledge of the hotelier gives you more confidence to explore and enjoy some of the best of what Madeira can offer. We would have no hesitation in returning to Villa Marta and recommending it to other travelers.

Nous avons été absolument ravis de séjourner à la Vila Marta pour découvrir Madère. Le studio est confortable et d'une propreté impeccable. La petite terrasse donnant sur l' océan et sur les jardins alentours est très agréable. Nous avons apprécié l'accueil chaleureux et cependant discret de notre hôte. Ses conseils et informations se sont révélés très utiles et fiables. En résumé, tout le confort des grand hôtels,les services et la chaleur humaine en plus.

This hotel provides a quality of service far above its rating. The hotelier takes considerable pride in ensuring guests are welcomed and feel at home during their stay. Whilst the location is slightly out of the centre of Funchal access is a sort bus ride, walk or drive. We abandoned our car and walked or used public transport during our stay. This hotel once visited will, with the level of personal service provided, have you returning time and time again. This is a gem of a hotel.

These appartments are amazing. They may not be in the smartest part of town but they are immaculate and spotlessly clean. The prices are unbelievably low, too. The owner/manager is probably the nicest, most helpful man in Madeira.

Very nice and spacious rooms with a little kitchen and a little living room. Pratically the room is a little apartment. The boss is very kind and he advises very good and cheap restaurants near the hotel. Unluckly some new buildings have ruined the view from the rooms which had to be very nice some years ago. You can see the sea but behind buildings. However it's a very good hotel.
