Rooms are very spacious and nice. Residence is very quiet and private. The couple who runs the residence is very nice. However, we did not realize that because this is a residence that there is not staff at the desk 24/7. They also do not offer breakfast or any food service. Additionally, we thought the laundry service was in the residence and it about 1/4 mile away.

Wonderful stay in this old Italian house, with well fited garden and private free parking(important in Firenze), a feeling of being home, all due to the quality of the welcome, and service offered by Angela. Room are gorgeous, high ceiling, well arranged, all is of quality, the fact that hotel is not in the center is a plus, it help to discover the city, walking along the river, passing on the bridge. To come back taxis cost from 6 to 10 Euro. We had a wonderful birthday party, in restaurant all was confirmed for us by Angela, which is really the sun of this house. We will certainly come back, one of the best "hotel" experience.

Very nice and helpful hosts. Very spacious and clean room. Quiet room despite a busy street on day thanks to efficient shutting. Located at 20 mn walk to Ponto Vecchio. Free parking really appreciated, so for the small kitchen as there was no breakfast included. Good addresses for restaurant given by the hosts. Very good address

Overall a wonderful place...Location although not in town was no problem...Nice walk to center city was about 30 minutes max..Wonderful cafe at corner nearby for lunch, refreshments, and snacks as well as a couple restaurants nearby. Our host Angela was terrific with pre--arrival help with both hotel and attraction reservations as well as assistance during our stay....Would stay there again with no problem. Rooms were generous and bathroom's were excellent......Easy for taxi to find....

This was our second visit to Florence. Since we were traveling in Italy for 3 weeks, we had a GPS for Europe. We had visited Milan, drove to the Lake area...Como, Maggiore, Orta, all without issue. However, the address provided and then entered in our GPS does not correspond to the actual location for this hotel. After driving in Florence, no less, for 2 hrs. asking police for help...we contacted the hotel staff...absolutely no help at all...we finally located a taxi driver and he advised we needed to cross the River Arno and get into the correct district. Upon arrival the staff seemed amibivalent about our stressful trip. Also..it is not staffed during the nite. It has an electric front gate and electronic door for entry. It is truly a villa...not a hotel. There is a kitchen for making breakfast, but no other restaurant service. The stress caused in locating the property (since the address provided was inaccurate) was not forgotten by the quality of the services. I would not recommend this property.

Residence Michelangiolo is situated across the river on the road up to the lookout, and only a bus ride or a 30 minute stroll into the centre of Florence. Staff very helpful and friendly and would not hesitate to sty there again.

Hotel is about a 10-15minute level walk from the Ponte Vecchio in a reasonably quiet residential area. There is some traffic noise, though the hotel is set well back from the road with its own secure off-street carparking area. Very spacious rooms with high ceilings and slightly opulent decor (rich fabrics). There is no breakfast service provided, but complimentary mineral water and juice in the minibar and a cafe about a 3 minute walk away. Buses run from this intersection into the city.

Beautiful place. We woke to birdsong in the morning - our airy, spacious room had steps to the garden. Only 15 minutes' stroll to the Ponte Vecchio but we might as well have been in the country. Angela on reception sorted everything out for us, from booking our visits to advising on nearby restaurants. We chose Affe de Bucco(?) and it was excellent - great atmosphere, great food & wine - and half the price of anything similar in central Florence.

The best way to see Florence, in my opinion. Lodged on the tree-lined Viale Michaelangelo, it is a welcome rest from the hub-bub and crowds of the city, but it's only a 20-minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio, or 20 minutes in the other direction to the church of San Miniato, with a stellar view of the entire city! The rooms are huge, especially by European standards, and include a kitchenette inside a large armoire. Angela and Cherubino are friendly, and will help you with your Italian if you like. We have already decided to stay here on our next trip to Florence.

Angela came to the door to great us as we arrived and showed us to our wonderful room on the second floor, which was most impressive: very high ceiling, beautiful furniture, nice kitchen inside a closet and two large windows with great curtains looking at a green garden. It felt like being shown a room in a palace. The bathroom was nice, the towels perfect and the television set very convenient. We stayed for a week. Coming back from the various tourist activities was always a pleasant experience. We were given a key to the villa so we could come in any time and it was a pleasure to walk into the peaceful place and enter our huge room. Transportation to and from the city was easy: five minutes in one of two buses that stop a block and a half from the hotel and go directly downtown. Using the local transportation gave us a feeling of living in Italy and it took us away from the very touristy center of Florence, which can be overwhelming. I would definitely go back to this palatial place and I would definitely recommend it as a wonderful place to stay in Florence.

Our room was very large by European standards and very clean. The room was on the ground floor and opened out to a lovely courtyard. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The desk clerk spoke fluent English, which was a tremendous help. I would definitely stay here again. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk to most of the tourist attractions, but the weather was lovely, and we enjoyed the stroll. Other than the magnificent art galleries, one of our favorite moments was attending a Gregorian Chant concert at a nearby church. We also enjoyed a carriage ride in the downtown area.

Wow! What a beautiful little Palazzo (Palace). You get a very spacious and impecably clean room. The bathroom was also large and spotless. Our room even had a little kitchen. The location, while not in the heart of the historic district, is conveniently located near restraunts, shops, etc. We walked into town one day and it was no big deal. The other days we took a bus and that was very easy. The owners speak english and are wonderful hosts. Just be carefull with the taxi when arrive into town. Apparently there are 3 Michelangiolo hotels in town. This is a "residence" not a "hotel" the taxi guy told me. So have the address on hand so you can give it to the driver.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the residence. The directions given to help find it were accurate and the owner/managers were more than helpful. Angela and Cherubin assisted us with travel advice, maps, internet connections, restaurant bookings, return of hire car and were always interested in where we had been and how we were faring during our 3 night stay with them. We travelled as a family of four adults, parents and 23 and 20 year old, and the adjoining apartments were more than adequate for our needs. Lovely juice, tea, coffee etc provided in rooms and plenty of water. Lovely place to stay. Nice restaurant close and others about 15-20 mins walk. Very highly recommended

Angela and Cherubino were great and extremely welcoming and helpful. Our room was downstairs next to the front desk so it could be a bit noisy in the morning and evening, but that was probably the only room with that issue. We loved the back patio and the spacious room ... and we even had a kitchen!

The Residence is an excellent base for visitin Florence, although it is a bit of a walk to the centre but there is a good bus service. The room was beautiful, very large and clean with a very large and comfortable bed. The hosts were very friendly and helpful with directions and advice. I would certainly recommend this to anyone visting Florence and would definitely stay there if we visted Florence again.

A great 'Residence'. Rooms roomy & well appointed. No formal breakfast (as to be expected from a Residence) but basics provided in a mini kitchenette. Location is great too - on a main road but secure & quiet. Close enough to the sights (via bus), yet far enough away for peace & quiet. Hosts VERY nice, friendly, helpful & prepared to suggest where to go, how to get there etc. We loved it!
