We stayed in the rooftop appartment for 2 nights on a whistle-stop tour of the Balkans and found the location and setting within Dubrovniks Old Town ideal. Not a good place for less able folk, as it is up a steep alleyway of the main Strdum, and then up two sets of steps within the building, but the welcoming by Tonka, and the wine from their own Vineyards made it a perfect spot to explore Dubrovnik from.

These apartments are very nice but are at the top of 85 very steep stairs so be warned. The owner does not live on site so you need to be careful to arrange a meeting time as you need a key to get in the front door. The apartments are very clean and comfortable, well located in the old town and the owner very nice.

Our stay was very nice but too short. The apartment was nice but some people used to lock the door in a way that other guests couldn't come in and we should scream in the street till someone inside the apartment could open to us. Anyway, Dubrovnik is amazing!

A wonderful base from which to visit Dubrovnik, right in the old town. Easy to find halfway up the street, it's a bit of a climb but do-able. The apartment itself was great, if a little dated, but it had everything you might need (except perhaps a TV - but there's so much else to do in Dubrovnik it's just as well). Tonka was very welcoming and we had a very comfortable stay.

Our overall impression was that this apartment has seen better times. We had to ask for more than one wineglass and the standard of cutlery was poor. A lot of dust etc behind furniture.

Not much offered in terms of entertainment or superfluous amenities but the location is hard to beat if you are visiting Dubrovnik and need a convenient place to sleep.

Nice apartment within the old city. No luxury but very comfortable, you have everything: small kitchen, private bathroom, big bed, but no TV! although you won't need it since the apartment is within the city centre and near all the amenities. Tonka, the owner, is very kind. 5 minute walking distance from the nearest beach, 2 minute walking distance from Stradun (main street in Dubrovnik, and city centre). Great location! Be careful with heavy luggage since the accomodation is at the middle of a hill with many stairs. But very quiet street.

The apartment is located about 2/3 the way up a fairly steep hill, above Stradun, the main drag of the old town. It's about 85 steps up. It's tough with big bags, but can be done with some rests, IF you are healthy and in half decent shape. I'm early 70s. Don't think I could do it in another 5 years!! Access is somewhat easier if you come in from above, via the Buza Gate, but you would have to have VERY good instructions or some familiarity with the area. The owner/operator, Tonka, is a very nice accomidating lady with reasonably good English, but does not live on site/nearby. This could present problems with eg. unexpectedly late arrival, which happened to one of our family members.

Tonka was wonderful and the place was clean and very close to the center of the Old Town. I was not prepared for the amount of stairs that we needed to climb with two suitcases but luckily we are relatively fit for the climb. Be aware though that she does not take credit cards which was difficult and you will need to bring all of your own tolietries, no soap provided. Overall a lovely place but very basic.

This was our first visit to Dubrovnik and we did not realise that the accommodation was inside the city and that there was no transport so everything has to be lugged up hill and many steps. Notwithstanding the position is excellent and the facilities were extremely adequate. The upper room is far superior to the lower room as it has views and is sheltered from street noise. The litchen facilities are a bit sparse.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Dubrovnik make sure its the old town, its wonderful. Other areas aren't as classy, clean, beautiful and interesting. This apartment was wonderful too. With wooden ceilings, a large spacious room, small bathroom and kitchenette were perfect for what we were looking for. The old town is expensive for food and so we were happy to budget for breakfast and lunch in apartment. The photographs on the website don't do the aprtment justice, it is set in a much nicer location. Thankyou!x

I really loved the apartment. The room was very spacious, bright and well divided, located on the second floor (top floor). The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom was very practice and clean, although small. Panorama offered by the apartment windows was wonderful: old city stretched before my eyes, I saw people on the Dubrovnik city walls, and the cathedral bells were heard. I really felt the atmosphere of the old town! However, you need some physical condition, because you went and fell over 20 stairs to reach the apartment, but the effort is worth doing!

The apartment BURA is an ideal location for a CITY break. The airport shuttle bus drops off @ The Pile Gate (although you need to go to the New Bus Station in the Port area, to return to the airport), through the gate onto the Stradum - main road & then third road on the left. The ONLY downside, is that Grad Dubrovnik is built like a stadium, and from ground level, ALL roads GO UP - in fact there are no roads - just steps. Quite demanding with luggage, but a definite help for fitness & weight loss! ALL OLD City accomodation has the same problem. TONKA Bura who owns the appartment is a lovely lady, welcoming & helpful, and normally visits once a day if you need to see her.If you cannot climb steps then stay in a Hotel in New Durovnik City & travel in. A bright & clean appartment with ALL the necessities for a short self catering stay.
