the web asked me to put my visa card details, but the hotel reuqsted my credit card they said" otherwise they'll cancel my booking.

We stayed in Dubai in March 2013 with our two daughters, aged 9 and 11. The apartment was clean and spacious, with a kitchenette which however we did not use. The toilets were a bit outdated and the water pressure was rather low, but this is ok for a few days. The swimming pool in GSA Number 3, where we stayed, is rather small and more suited for a dip than swimming, but again this did not bother us. There is a supermarket about 5 minutes walk away, and it takes about 20-25 minutes to walk to the Old Town, which was absolutely fine for us. The surroundings seemed safe - they have a residential feel rather than being the centre of tourist attractions. We would stay again and were absolutely happy there as we needed a clean place to stay for four people, and this is exactly what we got. It's not a five star hotel, but this was expected :0) Staff were all friendly, and they let us in at 11am rather than the check-in time of 2pm, which was much appreciated as we arrived into Dubai early in the morning. Transport-wise, there is a metro station not too far away (about 5 minutes' walk, possibly slightly more), and it's easy and cheap to catch a cab.

The staff could not have been nicer; Very helpful, friendly, they do a wonderful job. Everyone from the front desk to the housekeeping. The only comment is that the gym could be better equipped. It has some very old equipment and some stuff didn't work - like the bike and one treadmill. Weight stacks missing pins. I think it's because it's right next to the pool and the kids go in there and mess with stuff. If they could put key access on it that would help. Everything else was wonderful.

Great stay at Golden Sands 5 during a first visit to Dubai. Moved there from another hotel. Really enjoyed staying there. Spent 3 nights in a studio room. The room was spacious with a 42 inch flat screen TV with good international news/sports channels. The bed and sofa were soft and improved the quality of sleep. Hope to be back. Staff got a taxi for me when I was leaving out for the airport. Free and fast internet in the room. A definite recommend.

Silver and Golden Sands runs 11 Hotel and Appartments. I is recommended that the more specified Name e.g. Golden Sands 5, is easier for tourists to visit.

Golden sands 3 was great value for the money paid. I stayed there for 10 days with my 3 boisterous boys. The conveniences were quite adequate and made our stay comfortable. The staff were kind and mostly polite, they should however be a bit less impersonal/stiff and maybe be a bit warmer and friendly as they offer their services. The internet services did not work in my room and no one seemed to know how to sort out the problem, having an IT person attached to the business center may be useful. Overall it was a good stay.

The house keeping service was poor. I had to request 2 times before my room was done up although I had put up the sign to clean my room. The smell in the corridor due to the carpet is not good. The room was spacious but the a/c was not very effective. Stayed for 3 nights.

I booked a one-room studio apartment for the first night and then a two-room studio apartment for the next two nights. Although I requested the hotel to allow me accommodation in the two room apartment from the first night onwards, as the hotel was relatively empty, they refused to oblige and I had to change my room after the first night. As a result, they had to clean two rooms after me and I had to re-pack my bags and move rooms after the first night. However, on a more positive note, the hotel is excellently located and has a very convenient airport shuttle service.The two room studio apartment is really compact but everything one needs is available. Three out of the four burners of the cooker were not working. The hotel looked a bit old, but I guess for the price offered it was to be expected.

The only remark : you don't know in which GSA you are booked in as 10 are in the same surroundings. The better way is to ask when arriving at the Dubai airport from the counter of GSA and giving the booking number to know in which place you are.

On arrival there was confusion over where I was staying (which building). I had received a phone call earlier in the day telling me to go to Golden Sands 3 which was efficient and helpful. On arrival I was told to go to golden Sands 10 instead. When I went there they sent me back to golden Sands 3. When I got back there the Manager greeted me personally and was very helpful and courteous. Overall I was very happy with the stay.

No where on my receipt could i find what number Golden Sands i was staying at and walked into 3 different ones before i found corect one. Maybe that could be made clearer on confirmation.
