Vacation Rental Antico Borgo - Bergamo

Nice large room, kitchen (!), balcony, quiet street an easy walk to the old town. Market just down the street. Large bed. Can't ask for more.

The location of Antigo Borgo is difficult to find and to get in contact with the staff. Antigo borgo is situated in an area which is very noisy due to local traffic around the clock.

Dirty and very very noisy rooms

It was very spacious and clean. A compfortable room on a quiet street. I was looking forward to the full breakfast that was promised in the email and was disappointed when I had to walk down the road to a local pasticeria for cappucino and pastry. They actually forgot to give me the voucher but a friendly lady who arrived later organised it for me. So ask for your voucher when you arrive!

This was the first time my wife had stayed in an apartment and really enjoyed the privacy and adaptability. The residence is a bit awkward to get to as you first have to check in at an office then be taken down a lane to where the apartment is. The lane is a one way street and was heavily used during the day and becomes very quiet at night. Some may not like this. breakfast was adequate - coffee and one brioche. the apartments were well laid out and spacious. We would stay again if in Bergamo

I felt really good. Iwent to Bergamo just to spend the weekend I engoyed the city even Milano but Bergamo is a small village but lovely.I will come back.My best regards.

Our flight was late so we arrived well after midnight. However we were welcomed professionally. Rooms were spacious, clean and all in good condition. Sleeping room with good bed and modern flatscreen TV. Even a welcoming bottle of wine was not forgotten. Apartment was equipped with spacious balcony. Just nice, and easy to feel at home soon. Location was convenient for shops, supermarkets and both old and new Bergamo City center. Walking to train station took some 15mins, this is in fact only minor disadvantage I could think of. However there are buses too, stopping close to the appartments if so desired. Breakfast(capucino + bread roll) was served in nice coffee shop nearby. Small but we appreciated the atmosphere and quality. I can highly recommend this if you look for a nice apartment for a couple of days. We really enjoyed our stay in Bergamo. It is also conveniently located for other tours like Milan, Lake district etc which we all did by public transport without any problem. You need to find your way yourself a little because not many Italians do speak reasonable English. However, they are charming and really showing hospitality so you will forgive this very soon. At least we did.

The interaction with staff was the best possible. Having an excellent restaurant Giopi' e la Margi in the house was a good surprise.

My wife and I, with our adult daughters, found Antico Borgo just about perfect for our New Year's weekend visit to Bergamo. We chose a "serviced apartment" to have a kitchen, since we knew that New Year's eve and day are bad times to look for restaurants. The apartment was exactly as we expected and was clean, well-appointed, and well located, both in terms of the immediate neighborhood and its proximity to the activities of in Bergamo. NOTE that the apartment is much closer to the city than indicated on the (08-Jan-11) Venere map. It is near the intersection with Vicolo Luigi Anghinelli. Being an apartment, there are no public rooms and parking is less convenient than you might believe from the web site. (But see below). Also, if you are using the sofa bed you essentially lose your "living room", but you can see that from the on-line floor plans. Odette, who was my principal contact, was very helpful, both before our arrival and during our visit. The recommended parking garage was 15 to 20 walk away but Odette pointed out that starting at 17:00 that evening we could park on the street until our departure in two days and allowed us to stay extra long in the "check in" parking space. You will find many interesting shops on the Via Borgo Palazzo and other nearby streets as well as markets to stock your kitchen.

I visited for three days with my Mum. We loved the apartment and the space (the floor space is huge). we spread out with one of us sleeping in the double room and the other on the comfy sofa bed. The bathroom and storage were excellent. We did cook in the well equipped kitchen which could only do with a little more work space. The apartment was further frome the old town than we thought (a 20-30 min walk) but the new town was actually still lovely and interesting to walk through. The old town woudl not have given us as much space and feels a little "touristy". Nearby was a lovely veg shop with fresh local produce and a well stocked small supermarket. we would thorougly recomend the aprtment (we stayed in no 5) but the photos need updating as they don't do it justice.
