We stayed in the Carlos Barros apartment on the 5th floor and the apartment is suitable for an able bodied couple of any age. The apartments are in a good location close to the port and within easy walking distance of the main tourist sites and the metro. There are supermarkets close by. Our apartment was clean and well provided with linen, crockery etc. The sitting room has a pleasant outlook over the square. The square is edged by busy roads on 2 sides but the bedroom is to the rear of the appartment and, therefore, the road noise does not disturb you at night. There is a 50 euro compulsory cleaning charge that you have to pay on arrival and a surcharge of 4% for payment by debit or credit card. If you have limited mobility please note the shower has a high edge to step over, the bed requires you to walk across a wooden platform with a step up and down each side and there are about 6 stairs from the lift to the front door.
