Vacation Rental Bolsinina Bassa - Asciano

Beautiful surroundings, wonderful redeveloped farmhouse with great rooms, a swimming pool with swallows flying overhead, and great home cooked food. A perfect venue to explore Tuscany, I hope to return again, and tell all my friends.

We stayed 3 nights in the main house, in a room named after Jock, one of their Jack Russell terriers. Very comfortable, nicely furnished with full size bed, large dresser, small dressing table, armour, full bath, and with a nice country view. We spent a couple nice evenings just snacking on various salami meats, pecorino cheeses, fresh peasant bread and a nice chianti, while enjoying the soft breezes and even better views from the second floor balcony. Maria and Marcello were wonderful hosts, providing anything you'd ask for. She is an excellent chef, and provided really wonderful 4 course dinners each night, and Marcello hustled back and forth doing an excellent job of servicing the quests during the leisurely meal (2-3 hours). Due to our running around the country side, we only reserved dinner for one evening, but it was most enjoyable. Breakfast and dinner was provided either inside a nice dining room or on the outside patio, depending on weather. The quests all were seated in their own groups at individual tables, and one suggestion I'd have is to provide a large table for all to gather together for conversation during the meal - a wonderful opportunity for tourists from all over to communicate (one way or another!) sharing stories about their various travels and their homelands. Either way, this was a very special place to stay. If we ever get a chance to return to Tuscany, we would stay here again.
