Hotel Le Trianon - Arcachon

The location is superb being so close to the beach and restaurants, Casino, bus and train stations and boat trips and we enjoyed our 10 day stay. We were unaware at the time of booking that having arrived on the Saturday neither our sheets or towels would be changed until the following Saturday.We found this unacceptable but could not get any movement from them on this. Some bits of the hotel could do with a bit of a refurb, no safes in rooms, only hand held showers.There were some smells from the pizza house and cafes on the ground floor for those that are sensitive to this so higher the better. However for price and location excellent and self catering worked well with microwave, 2 cooker hotplates and coffee machine / kettle .

Upon arrival asked for a larger room and was told they were full...not sure that was entirely accurate. The balcony was covered with dirt and bird stuff so going out on the balcony was out. The location is excellent; a short walk from the train station and right next to the water.

The fact that there is noone responsible in the hotel to contact from 21.00 to 7.30 is not good.

This hotel is a residence which rents flatlets with kitchen, accommodating in our case up to 4 adult persons.

Not really a hotel (which I expected when booking). It's more like apartments with pentry. Which indeed has it's benefits. The breakfast was served very late, so I could not use it more than one day. The breakfast did not justify it's extra cost of 9 Euros. But since there is a pentry in the apartments, it's easy to arrange breakfast yourself. I was arriving late (they close at 21.00 !!!) and in such occations you need to get the access code to the hotel in advance!

Hotel Le Trianon was lovely. The room was big, had great facilities (it was almost like mini apartment).. My only criticism would be the shower (it was a hand-held shower head attached to the bath taps, which would have been fine but there was no fixture on the wall to hold it up), but that seems to be quite common in France and is pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to stay in!

It would be nice if the hotel could provide the guests with some amenities such as socket conversions, esp., as it is hard to find such devices around the neighborhood of Arcachon. I had this problem during my stay, coming from Japan. I forgot to bring my own socket adaptor and I had a hard time finding ways to charge my laptop, since the power plug I had did not match that of France. Upto now, I never had such a problems, because the hotels I've stayed with always provide socket adaptors.

Problem with parking, only limited space in hotel garage, breakfast medium quality for relatively high price however fantastic surroundings
