Aura Marina Apartments - Akrotiri

Extremely superb place to stay! Would do it again in a heart beat. Three possible drawbacks that could dissude some from choosing this location: (1) We stayed in the unit that has one bedroom down in the lowest, street level, so one window/door is directly at street level ... which, when cracked open all night long means you will hear the sound of about five locals heading to work at about 7:00 a.m. on their somewhat noisy scooters, motorcycles, or cars: enough to wake one from sleep. It was forgivable and still worth staying there for me ... but others may not like it. (2) I don't recall seeing 'non-potable' water any where when I looked at the hotel online, but maybe I just didn't catch that; so it was a bit of a surprise to me that we couldn't drink the water from the tap (probably a case of me not reading something). Again, this was not a deal breaker for me ... but others may not like it. (3) The showers don't drain properly, so I felt compelled to mop up the pooling water in the shower every day, just to keep the place clean and dry. All of this is a minor complaint compared to the value and experience of staying on this more remote side of the island. We loved it and would absolutely stay at the Aura Marina again.
