Naples gets a bad reputation for its litter and the rather rough neighborhoods, but this hotel is a real sanctuary. If you are interested in Pompeii, Herculaneum, Stabia or other historical sites, Naples is a great place to stay. (The Greek temples at Paestum can be reached from here via the train on a day trip.) On a previous trip to Naples we stayed at another hotel which has since gone out of business. We were much relieved to find Una Hotel Napoli on Venere. We stayed here four nights in April and May of 2012 and were very happy. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms the biggest and best in Italy (shower sufficiently large and plenty of hot water), and the breakfast was excellent (eggs, sausage, cereals, breads, fruits, and pastries). The staff members at the front desk and in the restaurant were friendly, professional, and helpful. The beds are of an adequate firmness and new. The rooms were not only spacious by European standards, they were also quiet even though they look out on busy streets. They have double-glazed windows and an internal wooden shutter system that blocks out the traffic noise and darkens the room for a restful sleep. Yet, when you open up the windows, there is a dramatic view of Vesuvius. When the construction in front of the train station just east of the hotel is complete, the neighborhood will be much improved. The rooms have no refrigerators or stoves for self-catering, but there are good restaurants not too far away and the hotel breakfast is excellent. By the way, eat at Da Danato, just a few blocks away. It calls itself a pizzeria, but it is much more, serving many traditional Italian dishes at reasonable prices. I had a massive steak there that was tender and delicious, like something you'd get in Florence, Italy or Omaha, Nebraska, but at half the price. We also enjoyed other traditional Italian dishes and creative and delicious pizza. Many thanks to the excellent staff at Una Hotel Napoli.

Although the carpet needed cleaning, the presentation of the room and the rest of the hotel was excellent. The buffet breakfast was very satisfying, especially if you like to start the day in a high protein meal. The hotel is superbly insulated from the bustle and filth of the surrounding area, and the smiling staff friendly and helpful. Vicinity to train station nonetheless makes it an excellent choice for anyone wishing to see Naples's historic centre and archaelogical sites at Pompeii and Herculaneum

The hotel is located just across the piazza from the main train station, which makes it very handy. While there isn't much to see in the immediate area, a short walk will take you into the main streets. The hotel was a great escape from the dirty streets of Naples. It's modern and clean and windows block out all the noise from the street. The staff were friendly and breakfast was great.

The hotel was a safe oasis after getting off the bus late from the airport. We chose it due to its close location to the train station for an early start in the morning. The area around the hotel at night feels threatening.

Location is close to the train station, not the nicest of areas. Only a couple of decent places to eat close by. Breakfast was good and the staff helpful.

Una Hotel Napoli is an oasis in a scary, garbage-covered Piazza Garibaldi. We choose it because we had an early-morning flight and needed to be close to the airport. The room was beautiful and exceeded our expections. Highly recommended. We would love to stay here again.

I enjoyed my one night at this hotel. I was so glad to see how close it was to the main train station. My room was clean and comfortable and all the amenities worked well. Thankfully the windows excluded the noise of the very busy traffic. The service was polite and efficient.

Very pleasant surprise. Napoli itself is a dump but this is a great little hotel. We stayed in Naples overnight before going to the island next day, this hotel was perfect for the task.

Do not be put off by the location of the hotel. We came from the Naples airport on the Alibus. Contrary to what we had thought, the bus did not let us out in front of the dreaded train station. The Piazza Garibaldi is much bigger than expected, and we were let off halfway between the station and the hotel, which faces the station. This provided a less menancing atmosphere or walk to the hotel.

We use Naples as a two night base for visiting Pompei. While we planned on venturing to Sorrento or returning to Naples attractions, Pompei enthralled us and took the whole day. We had heard the Naples crime stories but in reality felt no different than any other city. Una Hotel was the best in class during our two weeks in Italy traveling primarily by train and public transportation services; the room was great, breakfast fantastic (as was dinner) with rooftop seating available. A "discount" market sprouted around the hotel every morning about 5:30 AM (amazing). I don't believe the Una location, quality or price can be beaten for seeing the area of Naples.

When arriving in Naples we were concerned with the overall shabby conditions of the surroundings. However the Una Hotel was in deed very satisfactory. The cleanliness and excellent condition of the hotel impressed us. The staff was professional and went out of their way to please. Naples is a beautiful city unfortunately you have to be aware of the pickpockets and thieves that abound. The street are laden with filth and garbage. One would think that the City would clean up if they want to attract tourists. The restaurants were great. We found a small grocery store where we purchased bread and cold cuts for lunch, wine and beer as well as water for only 9 euros. We would definitely recommend the UNA Hotel to all our friends and if we were to return to Naples this is where we would want to stay.

Very welcoming front office and concierge staff. The rooms are well appointed with the best bathroom for the price we encountered in Italy. The breakfast/ restaurant is new and modern leading out to a balcony, wonderful setting. My only criticism which is very small is the city may that you're given isn't very good at all and there was no information on the public transport routes. If I was to go to Naples again I would stay at Una Hotel

The hotel itself was very nice but the outside location was sketchy and rundown. I would have preferred to stay in a place with better surroundings. Also I would have preferred to have a pool.

Absolutely fantastic hotel. This is clearly a high quality, high class hotel. We got a brilliant price (£70GBP per night) and it was incredible. I cannot recommend this place enough. Stepping off the hectic Naples street into this hotel was like stepping into another world. The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was wide-ranging and of a high standard. The rooms were very spacious, clean and well presented. The mini bar drinks were expensive, but no surprise there. The bar is open all day, as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner. The dinner is thoroughly recommended if you want high quality food and good service. Book it now!

I purposely booked a hotel that was 4 stars (normally 3 stars is fine when I am alone) because Naples has some seedy areas. I also wanted a hotel close to the train station because my main interest was visiting Pompeii and Herculaneum. It all worked out very well. The hotel was very clean, had a great breakfast, and the rooms were large, especially for Italy. Also, if you hang a left out of the front door, there is a good place for pizza or a panino very close by. If you take a right instead, there is shopping.

We only stayed one night in the Una Hotel in Napoli. We found it very modern and clean, everything was new and it was a great surpise to find such a hip hotel so close to the station. A find that at this price cannot stay unknown, already it was being used by airline staff.

We LOVED this hotel. Beautiful, new, spacious rooms with gorgeous decor and fantastic bathrooms. It's directly across the street from the train station, and became our refuge from the noise and grime of Naples. The staff was very accommodating, and the views from their terrace were fantastic. I totally and without any reservation recommend this hotel as an excellent choice in Naples.
