Una Hotel Palace - Catania

I stayed in two rooms. the first faced a courtyard and was very quiet. the only problem was a shower area the use of which always flooded the bathroom floor. the second room faced the street. too noisy and the carpet was dirty and had wine stains. for the most part, i enjoyed my stay and would return. the location is perfect.

We stayed a four equivalently-priced hotels in Sicily and only at the breakfast at this hotel were we provided the ability to make fresh orange juice and fresh carrot juice!

Only stayed one night but hotel was everything we expected having stayed with Una before. Very classy hotel though room was a bit on the small side. Staff all very professional.

If the price fits your budget, there is no question that the right choice is Una Hotel Palace. After a long train ride from Naples, we were greeted in the evening with the absolute warmest of receptions. The staff was impeccable, cordial, and helpful above and beyond the call of duty. They assisted us in arranging for transportation, recommendations on nearby attractions and dining, and even coordinated a Mt. Etna excursion for us. Our room was enormous, spotless, comfortable, air-conditioned, and fully furnished with every amenity and then some. I was floored to step out on the patio late at night, turn my head toward the end of the street, and have a striking view of the lava erupting from Europe's most active volcano. The breakfast buffet here was top notch by comparison. I don't mean to sound like a salesman, but after long days of exploring the city and volcano we truly looked forward to returning to our room at Una Hotel Palace. We had no idea what to expect of Catania as a city for vacation purposes, but we found a great deal to do here. The hotel is central to so many sights and shopping that are easily accesible on foot. Be sure to visit the daily outdoor market and explore the Duomo, Anfiteatro Romano, and the Castello Ursino which was buried in 20 feet of lava. You absolutely must sign up for a Jeep tour of Mt.Etna where the guide will take you through recent lava fields, inside ancient calderas and lava tubes. We recommend the evening excursion which will allow an improved view of the active lava eruption. You will love Catania and you will without question enjoy Una Hotel Palace.

There were two problems: 1) a sauna is provided, the first time I requested usage it was heated and an excellent experience. The second time was a disaster, it wasn't heated when I wnted to use it and I was made to feel that it was my fault. The night desk clerk was very uncooperative with my request. He was on duty the morning we checked-out and agaain brought up the subject and said it was my fault! The second problem occurred when I ask the representative to make a restaurant reservation. He said he did, but when we got to the restaurant, no reservation was recorded, because the reppresentative hadn't given our name to the restaurant! Otherwise our stay was excellent.

Beautiful, spacious, clean and quiet hotel right in the heart of Catania!

Excellent roof terrace and bar with roof-top views over Catania and Mount Etna. Helpful, competent and friendly staff. Modern decor. High standard of fittings and furnishings in the rooms. Plentiful breakfast buffet.

Great stay at Catania and once in Catania again we will be book it at Una again with no doubt. Excellent breakfast, incredible location among shops and many sites of interest. The staff is also great if our special mention to Simoni.

I was very pleased with this new hotel! The rooms are beautiful and the service was spectacular. The rooftop garden was incredible. We had drinks and watched the smoke from mount Etna. A short walk to a beautiful plaza with great food. A cute shop near bye that sells small sculptures made of lava rock was a wonderful surprise. I will gladly stay here again!!!!!

Central location. Great room. Good breakfast (cold coffee). Only stayed for two nights, but overall impression was excellent. Room price was 110 euros/room/night, hence excellent quality/price comparison. At that price, would stay again. The only negative comment is that the coffee was cold in the morning (they leave the coffee in a thermos bottle and it quickly goes cold).

Éramos 3 amigos. Estuvimos en Catania 3 días al comienzo del viaje y la última noche(10 días después)la pasamos allí también ya que nos había encantado el hotel. No os perdais la Happy Hour en la terraza del hotel, 7ª planta rodeada de sillones y sofás donde poder tomar una copa al aire libre, con vistas increibles de la ciudad.La mejor relación calidad-precio de toda Sicilia (finales de agosto) 105 €/habitación triple incluido un desayuno bufett bastante bueno. Muy, muy,muy recomendable.
