Hotel Travelodge Galway City - Galway

There was only one staff member at the desk when we checked in and checked out. He was not overly friendly or helpful. The room was cramped, the third single bed was a trundle pull out that was low to the ground and we questioned the cleanliness of the floor. There was no shampoo, we had to ask for a third set of towels by walking down to the desk as there was no phone in the room (therefore I'm not sure how you would get a wake up call if you didn't have your own alarm clock). The shower was difficult to operate. We could smell cigarette smoke coming into our window when it was open and at night there was a lot of noise in the hallway from other guests who were partying late. The hotel is not close to anything else of interest so you need to have a vehicle or take a taxi.

Location and price are good but overall the poor quality of the extra (pullout) beds, the dodgy stains on the carpet, the strong smell of smoke, the windows that didn't open or close properly, the curtains that didn't keep out the daylight and the noise from the traffic mean that I won't be back. In fact I moved on to another hotel for the rest of my stay in Galway.

The hotel rooms were clean and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful with answering questions about the area.

Everything very basic no facilities in rooms . interested in second night but no one came back 2 us as promised.Continental breakfast-very bad value

We ordered a triple room and recieved a single with a pullout couch. the hotel does not have any triple rooms but they still advertise them.

Rooms advertised outside hotel as€49 - I paid €169 - cant understand why I was charged so much. Feel it is false advertising. Booked the room for 3 people - there was only 2 towels and 2 cups in the room. Webside claimed that staff wld advise on all attractions - I asked how to get to Salthill roundabout and was told by receptionist that he couldnt direct me even though it is right beside hotel!

Expensive for quaility of room provided and service

Travelodges are ideal for travellers by car. We were using public transport, so had a 20-minute walk, not a problem (bus route, but poor service in evening). Fairly convenient for city centre and usual excellent Travelodge quality.
