I would not recommend the hotel for holidays in Dublin, its far away from the city and in a bad neighborhood. The only advantage of the hotel is, it is near the airport, if you need only a stopover in Dublin, you can choose it.

Beware althought this is quoted as an airport hotel it is still nearly 18 euros in a a taxi!! The restaurant that is downstairs was understaffed and had limited avaliable drinks and food.

On arrival our taxi driver warned us thst Ballymun is a VERY BAD area and we must take care, and do not leave hotel once dark, and to always get taxis back from Dublin at night - if we had been made aware of this before booking we would have thought twice about staying there. I guess the price reflects the area - it was very run down and we could tell straight away that our taxi driver had given us very good advice. The reception staff were very unhelpful as was the lady in the 'restaurant'. We were able to use the local buses in the day to go into to Dublin. We did not know that buses in Dublin required the exact money and would not take notes or give change - when we realised this we asked for change at reception - we were refused and told to find a local shop - which given the area was not an option. This meant we were literally stuck in the hotel - my partner decided he had to have a walk to try and find a shop for change as we had to be able to get into Dublin in order to catch the Airport Shuttle bus. A taxi would cost 20 - 25 Euros one way into dublin a bus was about 4 euros! As the hotel was exceptionally noisy at night we got very little sleep - other guests were 'running' about at 3am - very unpleasant, staff not prepared to get involved. I would highly recommend staying elsewhere - the hotel might be cheap but once you add in the cost of buses into Dublin and the NEED to get a taxi back at night all in all it was not a cheap stay - spend a bit more for a decent hotel in Dublin Centre!

The staff at the front desk were friendly but clueless. The first night in this "upscale" hotel was unexpectedly cold and no one could tell us why there was no heat nor how to turn it on. We were given incorrect information about the cost of the local bus. Our room key card was deactivated 3 times in 24 hours during our stay. Every traveler should be notified that there are 4 Travelodge Airport hotels. This one is NOT the closest to the airport and the taxi driver must be told the complete name of the hotel, Travelodge Airport Ballymun.

The room which we had the first two nights at the hotel was just fine. Although we had been assigned to an occupied room initially the staff very quickly corrected the problem. The night of the 20th which we had reserved on the 13th was not as acceptable. Several light bulbs were burned out, there was only one sheet on the bed and we were given a room with only one bed in it. Although that did not create a big problem for my brother and I we were both upset that the one night cost us considerably more than what we had paid for two nights in the same hotel and the accommodations were less. Recommendations I would make are these, 1. Let travelers know how to use the key as the source of elevator travel between floors as well as the activator for the electrical setup in the rooms. Both of these were quite foreign to us and it took seeking out someone for assistance. 2. Provide wash cloths in each room for all individuals in that room. 3. Produce a better map on getting to the hotel from the airport giving the number as well as the name of the exit, or if there is a shorter way it should be outlined. It took us nearly two hours to find the hotel because of all the road construction and the lack of knowing the exit number or the name of the exit we should have used. This would be a great help to those of us who are not accustomed to driving on the left side of the highway. The amount of concentration it takes just to drive takes away from ones ability to be looking at signs that seem to just pop up at the exit rather than a distance from the exit so that appropriate lane changes can be made safely without endangering the whole highway. I realize this is not your problem, but a better map and description of how to get to the hotel will enhance the situation considerably. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and the staff was most cooperative and helpful to us. I'm not sure why it cost us more for one night than it did for two, but it's too late now to

The place is ok, clean and confortable. The problem was that the first night started the smoke alarm at random time, 2 or 3 times through the night (imagine our shock!). As explanation they told us to have some problems in the kitchen (?), but it was all OK. The same thing repeated EVERY NIGHT, and every day we had a different explanation (because of different receptionist!), we haven't sleep properly for 4 nights!

Our room was very modern and large(We had a room on the corner so it was extra large) The hotel was all new and clean and relatively close to the Dublin airport. the cab fare to the airport was 15 euros. How ever I would not stay there if I was visiting Dublin for vacation. The hotel is not in the greatest of Neighborhoods. It is in what appears to be a very low income neighborhood with lots of project housing. I would not dare go out after night. It is all very far from the city center. But if you need a place for one night to catch a very early flight then it will suit your purpose.

Hotel: The hotel is nice as well, but the employees didn't be friendly enough. In our room there was no power for hair drying, the hair dryer in the room didn't work and nobody could help us to solve this problem. We were drying our hair in the corridor. Second for people who don't speak english very good or who aren't used to speak english, the employees had better spoken slowly and accurate then even faster and incomprehensible. Restaurant: The employee in the restaurant was very friendly and helpful.
