This hotel is well located in that it is readily accessible to the crowded, well-known areas of Venice without being in those areas. The neighborhood is quiet and easily accessible by water taxi. The gentleman who greeted us was terrific, meeting us to show us the way, helping find wonderful non-tourist eating places — simply a delightful and knowledgeable man. Would love to return.

Veramente "the best place in Venice"!

lovely area a bit outside of the main tourist section but easy walks everywhere.

I would have liked a fridge or minibar in the room. There is a cheap internet & phone shop just round the corner - going away from the hospital and next to that is a very nice traditional Venetian bar and very close to that is a great baker's shop

Hotel staff was very helpful and accomodating. The limited breakfast menu was the only complaint.

Thought this was one of the best places we have stayed at in a long while. You will not be disappointed when you stay there. The thing you have to watch out for the the service charge the resturants wack on everything that you have e.g. diet coke £4.50, but this place is definately value for money. Take my word for it. Only negative thing was that you could hear people talking sometime, but this is nothing compared with the comfort it offered. Give it bug wraps!!

Very pleased with air-conditioned rooms. Quiet enough for a good night's sleep. Nice location. About 10 minutes walk from the waterbus. Breakfast served on tray into room.

The hotel was easy to find,in a very good location away from crowds but easy to walk to the main attractions. The room was very comfortable with an interesting view and the staff were very helpful and friendly which we found unusual in the rest of Venice. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others and if I returned would stay there again.

The only problem is that from our room we hear all the discussions at the reception desk - especially in the early morning . But it is a really good place to stay.

I have stayed in Venetian hotels that charged twice the price for a fraction of the professional service, renovated facilities and comfort offered at Locanda S. Giovanni e Paolo. It would be an exceptional hotel anywhere. Situated as it is between two of Venice's most characteristic campi (Zanipolo & Sta Maria Formosa) and a 10-minute walk from the Rialto or San Marco, it is an excellent base for fine Venetian holidays and business trips.

We loved this hotel. Donatella our hostess could not have been nicer, the room was quiet, clean and lovely. Our only problem was finding it. Be sure to get specific directions and then hope you don't get lost, it is Venice afterall. And remember "Saint Giovanni e Palo" is a square, a church and a neighborhood.

It was great. A lovely room with a good bathroom. The staff were really friendly, well informed and spoke excellent English. I would reccommend it to anyone wanting a reasonably priced place to stay in Venice

The room was intolerably noisy and bed absurdly uncomfortable. In room 2 or 3 we could hear everything that happened on the ground and first floors. I understand that Venice is an expensive place to stay, but for the price we might have had a good night's sleep. The double my wife and I slept on was really two twins pushed together. They did not stay together throughout the night.

The room was small but adequate for my needs, and the bath was great. I loved the neighborhood - you had a feeling of living in Venice; hearing the sounds of kids off to school, shopkeeprs opening their stores, and the smell of bread baking. Excellent restaurants in very close proximity with points and places of interest nearby. Definitely off the beaten path and I would return to this hotel again. I would have loved a common room to have breakfast as I felt eating alone in one's room was too lonely for my tastes so I always breakfasted down at the local Cafe.

The hotel was excellent. The photos on the web-site did not do the hotel justice!! Not only was the hotel delightful, the staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay very much and highly recommend Locanda Ss Giovanni e Paolo!!!!! Do not accept the offer for a free boat ride and tour of a glass factory on the island of Murano. A real rip-off!!!!!!

The room was terribly small, the bed was too hard, the pillow was too hard, and there was inadequate light for reading. One of the desk staff spent all one evening on the phone, and his voice resonated all the way up to my room on the second floor until I told him about it, and he stopped.

The room was very clean and pretty, but the walls between rooms were a little thin. The neighborhood was wonderful. The breakfast served in the room was excellent. The reception was a bit cool, but perfectly adequate. The night clerk was a little strange and forcefully recommended a touristy restaurant for which I'm sure he received a kickback.
