We had a great stay at this little bed and breakfast. Neighborhood is just off the beaten path which is perfect to get away from the crowds when needed. Plenty of restaurants and accesible shops around. Only advice is to get detailed directions on how to get there (there isn't a very obvious sign on the door). Staff friendly and rooms great.

The hotel is very cute however be warned that it is on the 3rd floor and there is NO lift which the hotel does not make clear in any of its information. We stayed here at the end of a 3 week journey around Italy and with our luggage loaded down with souvenirs it was very difficult to make it upstairs. That being said, we enjoyed the hotel overall. The room was very cute although we were in the attic room with sloped ceilings and I did hit my head more than a few times (and I am only 5 feet 7 inches). The staff was friendly and breakfast was good although slow if you were trying to get out early to enjoy the day. The location was good, a short walk to vaparetto stops and the Rialto bridge. If it weren't for the lack of a lift this would be a wonderful hotel. That is the only reason I am not sure if I would stay here again.

This was a group trip from a gallery in the UK to visit the Venice Bienale. We were looking for accomodation quite last minute, and searched the web and couldnt find any decent hostels that had enough rooms for a group of 10 in the righ location (central Venice). Then we came across Ca' Riccio and from the very beginning they were extremely helpful and accomodating. I was in regular email correspondance with Lidia at the hotel before we went out and this was great as it's always abit worrying booking accomodation through the internet and without actually speaking to someone on the phone! We were also delighted that Christiano was able to come and meet us in Venice as we got lost trying to find the hostel and had many heavy bags! This was such a kind gesture and was greatly appreciated. This is a really nice family run hostel and i think it's great to get that extra hospitality (and not have to pay throguh the nose for it!). The rooms were spacious and clean, the breakfast was adequate (croissants, fruit, cereal) and the staff were all very friendly. The bathrooms were great, hot showers and good cleaners. The only one thing i'd say is if you are looking to have a noisy holiday and want to be able to enjoy the night life and party when back at your hostel, maybe look at another place as the neighbours were not too happy with us when we made abit too much noise! All in all a very good hostel and i highly recommend it!

Staff are very friendly and considerate. The location is great. It is worth every penny. Definitely will go back to Ca' Riccio. As always in Venice finding the hotel is never easy whatever hotel your planning to stay.

Our attic room was lovely but very very hot- it was warm outside but there was no response to our 3 requests to have room heating turned down. Breakfast was also disappointing- only 1 croissant each on the first morning and then none at all (a small cake instead) on the second and despite the promise no breakfast at all when we had to leave early on the final morning. A good hotel, a lovely room, nice friendly people but need to improve service a little.

Hotel was an easy walk from the Fondamente Nuove vaporetto stop. Christiano met us and carried our bags upstairs for us. We were too early to check in but he held our bags for us and fed us breakfast! We thought that was very nice. Our room was smaller than it looked online but we fit. We could hear other guests in the hall on occasion but overall the hotel was very quiet. There were some cockroaches in our room - so I never left any kind of food out. Breakfast was the usual fare - a pastry, yoghurt, and coffee, with juice and toasts available. Hotel was an easy walk to Rialto & St Marks. The restaurants recommended by the hotel (very close by) were OK - not fantastic. If you're a TV person, no English channels. Bring a book or a magazine to decompress with. Caught Alilaguna from Fondamente Nove - Christiano left us a breakfast tray the evening before because we had to leave before breakfast service began. The coffee was only lukewarm at that point, but it was coffee. :) Overall, enjoyed our stay.

This charming small hotel is on 3rd floor and no elevator but the Owner was more than happy to help us with our luggage. It's close enough to comfortably walk to all areas of interest and close to water bus, but the area is not tourist intensive which we really enjoyed at the end of the day. Some excellent restaurants very close by.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Ca'Riccio! It offered us a very good value, the location was convenient, and the employees provided very good service. Like most places we stayed on our trip to Italy, our rooms were up several flights of stairs, so some may find this difficult.

The town house we stayed in was beautiful, more like a large comfortable hotel room. the room was quiet, and beautifully decorated, was large with table and chairs, security box, and large bathroom with excellent shower and water pressure, a bidet and toilet. The fittings throughout were of great standard. there was a fridge complete with mini bar in the room. the breakfasts were lovely and the young owners very accommodating and helpful. not sure what the price of hotels are in venice but this was one of the loveliest places i have stayed - and well worth the money. My only comment would be that the photos on the website dont really do theguest house justice - it is beautiful inside.

Avoid Room 6 - We arrived Friday night, only person on reception did not speak English and I had forgotten the map so it took us ages to find the place. Air conditioning in the room was broken and the window had to be left open - I thought I would be eaten alive by the mosquitoes and am still itching from the bites now a fortnight after arriving home. An air con unit was brought in but it was a plug in and noisey and had to be vented through the window so again the mosquitoes had a feast - I hardly slept any of the 3 night stay due to the mosquitoes and noise of air con machine. The door to our room had a faulty lock and could not be opened with a key, but the receptionist helpfully showed us how to break in... The sloping ceiling is a challenge and I'm only 5ft 3in and banged my head on heavy wooden beams several times. 6 flights of stairs up - the final flight is a spiral staircase. Though the location was great and staff very friendly I would not stay here again in that particular room.

Quiet, very clean place to stay. Friendly service, we liked the breakfast served in the room very much. The room itself was spacious, as it was right at the top of the building maybe in summer it will get hot there, but in May it was cosy. Not much of a view, but it was over roofs etc and to other buildings and not into a stairwell. The room was nicely furnished, with quite typical Venician lights, the colourscheme of the bathroom was really fresh and clean. The hotel is quite central, so we never felt we had to make a long trek to anywhere in Venice. We enjoyed our stay very much and the room was everything it had promised on the webpages.
