We really liked Independence Square. The breakfast is two microwaved croissants with cream filling, a glass of orange juice, and a coffee. We had a shared bathroom, but shared only with one other room. When we arrived, the person working told us it was free day at the Vatican. Otherwise, we wouldn't have known. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. They also let us leave our luggage until 10:30pm when our train left. When we arrived to get the luggage, someone in the restaurant downstairs immediately dropped what she was doing and literally ran to unlock the door for us. The price was extremely reasonable, but had to be paid upon arrival. Luckily they accept credit cards.

This is an excellent good value bed and breakfast and I would highly recommend. It is basic and clean but excellent value if you are on a budget. We were greeted by a very friendly employee who took great care of us for the duration of our stay. He speaks excellent English as he is a native of the USA. He gave us excellent advice, a map, directions and even advised us of opening and closing times of the Vatican Museum. If he had done this we would have missed seeing the Sistine Chapel as we did not know that the day was a religious holiday. We are very grateful to him!!

How to reach Townhouse Suite Independence Square

By car
Take the "GRANDE RACCORDO ANULARE" (G.R.A.), and exit at "Via Salaria".Then follow the directions for "Roma Centre"

By train
Our B&B is a five minute's walk from the station.Cross the bus stop area and turn right on "Via Solferino", which then takes you to "Piazza Indipendenza". Our structure is located on the opposite side of the square

By airplane
FROM THE LEONARDO DA VINCI AIRPORT:
A train departs every half hour and arrives directly at the Termini Train Station. Our B&B is a five minute's walk from the station. TAXI: Transfer time varies from 30 to 40 minutes depending on the traffic. FROM CIAMPINO AIRPORT:
The Terravision bus service guarantees transfer from the airport to the Termini Station ( stop on via Marsala, n° 22). The Tickets costs only 7,00 Euro.
The fares vary from 50 to 60 Euro.
