Five mintues walk from Termini station. Which means that you can find everything from food to tranportation within five mintues walk. We found the staff very humble, polite and cooperative.

Originally I thought b-fast was included but it was not. The receptionist was not at all friendly, almost as though she had no personality. When we went to bed, we realized that there was only 1 sheet on the bed (the bottom). Had to ask for another.

When we came to the hotel, they started writing down our information, then handed us a letter in English saying that they did not have room for us and that the woman did not know English, and that they would drive us some other place. they did, and it was okay there, but when we asked to be able to speak to someone in English, they just pointed to the sign saying we had to pay, even though in the agreement it said we should pay when left. we did pay just so we wouldnt have to worry about it since they kept asking, and the rest of our stay was safe. the room was clean.

it would be a better stay if the quality of the facilities can be improved. the staff is friendly and helpful, but one morning i was waken by a loud conversation between them. the hotel is not difficult to reach from the Termini station, just that the map here provided is not at all clear.

Staff - very friendly Breakfast - good (but they have to improve their cappucino :-)) Rooms - clean, but furniture was little bit old (but the most important part - bed was OK) Room contains also air-condition that was great in such a warm weather (37-40 C). Plastic windows in room make a good noise isolation to the street.

Sunny in good position to access Rome sights. Within walking distance of Termini (Station) and therefrom buses to wherever you want. You can get a simple map from the Sunny, but a bus map is more useful - not available at the bus station! Though there are shops in Termini, a supermarket is on the Piazza Indipendenza. As mentioned before the family who run the Sunny speak very little English and just as little Italian. They have cold drinks on offer, but do not seem to want to make coffee other than for breakfast.

Location of this property is key. It is in very close proximity to the Roma Termini. The staff was very cordial and the room and public areas are clean. Finding the hotel the first time was tricky as the map listed on the website is not correct. This hotel is part of a series of building within a gated compound.

This is not the first time I am in Rome. So I knew what I was seeking for regarding accommodation. The Sogiorno Sunny had it all: cheapest offer which includes breakfast {be careful if it is you first you will know what Italian breakfast means ƒ¼} and air-conditioning. The hotel is located in old tenement as many hotels in Roma-Termini area. It is located on one of its floors but there is a lift provided. Hotel and room is clean. I is operated by Chinese family but some of them speaks English. Before you come here I advice you to print the location of hotel. As the hotel is not a separate building you may not notice a small 20cm2 label of Sogiorno Sunny Hotel. I was seeking for a hotel in Roma Termini district because it has the best transportation capabilities: 2 metro lines, bus station and the direct train to Fiumicino Airport. One disadvantage ¡V Roma termini is very dirty with beggars and homeless around the train station. But for a tourist like me it didn¡¦t matter - I was all day in more pleasant places which you know from Rome guidebooks and I hope you will see personally¡K Krzysztof, Poland

We, as an elderly married couple found that the Soggiorno Sunny was an excellent hotel for our five day stay in Rome. Indeed it answered all our requirements having very clean rooms with tiled floors (no yukky carpets), en suite bathroom, double glazing (no traffic noise) and remote-controlled air conditioning. A kettle was provided within the room, although strangely no cups. However refreshments were available to buy, Tea, Coffee and Beer. The breakfast room was small but adequate. The location was easy to find using our son’s directions which can be found elsewhere in the recommendations; the hotel was near to the Termini Rail Station where the Bus Station and the Metro trains operate. As an added bonus the Station houses two floors of shops including a food Supermarket.

The map is wrong with the direction inverted. The room was not very clean where we could find hairs on the pillow. Also the first time to see a room without a fridge inside. Overall speaking, our stay there was not so satisfied as the price was average but the facilities there was below average.

We had a very good stay in Rome. One of the things that were crucial was the individually operated aircon! Without that we would have been cooked in the italian heat...=) Three minor drawbacks: - The map does not indicate correctly, but there is no problem finding the hotel. - The language skills of the owners are not that great (at least if you don't speak chinese). - The breakfast was fresh, but we missed some real bread. Can I recommend this place? Absolutely, it good value for the money and placed closed to Termini!

Staff don't speak english, but in our opinion it isn't necessary, if you are able to plan your visit in Rome by yourself. They want, that you pay for the room at next day after arrival. This is unusual indeed, however okay. Contrary to what we red here from others, they accept credit cards. The room was very clean, they changed the towels every day and bedclothes every two days. Room is small, but enough space to put your stuff in. The location of the hotel is near Termini station, from where you can get at all places immediately. The room was as noisy as we expected, but you can close the windows and use air condition instead or you shall use ear-pegs. The only negative remark we can make is that breakfast needs getting used to.

beside the fact that the employees don't speak almost no english and italian and the directions at this website are confusing,it's a good hostal for the price. its convenient because it's near to termini. the best way to find this hotel is to go all the way to the end of the street noted on venere website and as soon as you face via pretorio (a big street) look to your right and there is a small gas station on a corner. the hotel is on the corner yellow building at front of that gas station and it has 3 big palm trees on the corner courtyard. go to the directory and press the hotel buzer, then go inside the interior patio and make a right into the first entry door.

This is the best budget hotel we stayed during our whole Europe trip. It has got the hotel standard and the breakfast is best among the budget hotels too. Only problem is its location, nothing much in the surroundings, though its quite near to main train station.

The rooms were clean and spacious with double glazed windows. It was good value for money (or it would have been for two people). The breakfast was croisants, crispbread and jam which I understand is normal for Italy. I would have preferred bread and meat/cheese however. They did have hard boiled eggs though. The place is easy to find but for some reason the property is placed in the wrong position on the map, both on this site and on the hotel's own website. This is how you get to it: Find the Marsala exit from the Termini station and go directly up the street opposite (Via Marghera), to the end. Cross the road and turn right, you will go past some petrol pumps an the entrance is the archway in the next wall. Ring the bell for the gate and continue under the archway to the end. When you enter the courtyard at the end turn right and there is a bell on the first door you come to. Ring the bell and go to the top of the lift and you are there.

It would be useful to have a more detailed map of this property when booking this hotel. It is actually number 25 and opposite property number 60. It had no telling signs to indicate it was a hotel. We came in to Stazione Termini and the hotel was 5 mins walk, only as it wasn't signposted or indicated on a map (plus we had several people send us in the wrong direction) it took us over 2 hours to get there.

It took us a while before we can find the place as the location in the map isnt clear because it is actually at the main road without clear indication. However, once found, we are really pleased with what we expected. The lift was working well so dont worry. The welcoming from the staff is excellent. The place is beautiful and much better than we expected. It is very near to the Termini on foot, and you can opt for a bus to Termini right in front of the gate if you are lazy for 5 minutes walk. The room provided for us is very clean and spacious. We thought we would be given a shared bathroom as the price was cheap, but instead we were given a private bathroom. The room has a small balcony facing the main road, so we were expecting a noisy night, but again, it turned out much better. once the windows were shut, however noisy and busy is the road, you wouldnt hear a single thing. The room basically has everything we wanted for. As it was getting warmer in Rome, we were so glad the room has air conditioning. It has a big wardrobe, kettle and extra blankets and sofabed. The breakfast is excellent and although the staff mentioned that it is only till 930am, we saw the kind staffs yet served for late comers. The only disappointment of the room was that we booked for a double room but were given a twin bed. Hence we had to push the two beds but the staff was kind enough to help us to do so. We would definitely recommend this accomadation to any of our friends or family as the location is strategic and worth of the price. It would be brilliant if most of your trip by bus. Although we opted for trips on foot, it doesnt take you long before you reach any tourist attractions such as Coloseo and Fountain de Trevi. By the way, the place is owned by Chinese and operated by a chinese staff. But they do speak quite fluent English and Italian hence it wouldnt be a problem. Overall, it is worth more than you are paying for. Book early to have a good price.

There is a definite language barrier but it doesn't have to get in the way. The property is on the forth floor of a bldg and when we visited, the elevator worked. It is not marked on the map on the website so it takes a little hunting around. The breakfast was very comparable to other locations and better than the typical Italian breakfast. The water pressure kind of dribbled but for the price, it was very hard to beat.

I really enjoyed staying here. It was very close to the Roma Termini train station. Make sure you exit the station through the Via Marsala exit. If you have never been to Roma, I recommend that you use either www.mapquest.com or www.viamichelin.com. You can get the directions this way. If you ask some one make sure you ask for Viale not Via Castro Petrorio. It is #25, the hotel is located on the top floor, there is a button with "Soggiorno Sunny" on it, once you ring the will open the gate for you. It is in Scala B (middle staircase), again ring the buzzer and take the elevator or lift as it is called in Italy. It's a long walk. Make sure you have the reservation information. The owners are Chinese and very friendly. The hotel is also close to the METER Linea B or blue line, very convenient and you do not have to use Termini often, make sure you buy a all-day metro or ATAC ticket, it's more cost effictive. There are good restaurants in the area and if you are a westerner, the McDonalds in Termini serves American style breakfast. We paid 130 Euro for two nights. It was great and I would use them again. I felt safe and as I mentioned before, it was convenient.

Ciao a tutti. Arrivati in via Castro Pretorio, girare a DESTRA. I am satisfied. To find the hotel I suggest you to tur RIGHT and cross the street next the traffic light. Olmost opposit you, on the left side there is the building in wich is the Sunny Hotel. You will find "Sunny" on one of the bells. Go inside the gate, and choose the first pair of stairs on the right side. The chinese man that runs the hotel don't speaks good european languages, but he is ok. He prefers to be payed cash on arrival, but no problem if you pay te day afetr.Probably he had clients who left without pay.The rooms are big enough, clean and with air condition/heating.Few minutes from TErmini Station and Castro Pretorio metro station.

FIRST, I WOULDLIKE TO THANK TO THOSE GUESTS OF THIS HOTEL WHO GAVE THEIR COMMENTS AND USEFUL ADVICE FOR THE NEW-COMERS. TO SUMMERIZE OUR IMPRESSIONS: BIG ADVANTAGE OF THE HOTEL> ITS CENTRAL LOCATION,CLEANLINESS OF ROOMS, GOOD ACCESS TO METRO AND BUS LINES. PROBLEMS: COMMUNICATION WITH THE HOTEL STAFF, BECAUSE THEY SPEAK ONLY CHINESE, VERY POOR ENGLISH OR EVEN ITALIAN. YOU HAVE TO PAY IN CASH, RIGHT AFTER ARRIVAL, NO CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED. YOU HEAR A LOT OF NOISE. IT IS FAIR, HOWEVER, THAT THEY INCLUDE A SMALL BREAKFAST IN THE PRICE, THERE IS AIR-CONDITIONING. GOOD TO KNOW THAT YOUSHOULD NOT LOOK FOR A HOTEL BUILDING, BUT AND ORDINARY DOWNTOWN HOUSE. YOU WILL FIND THE NAME 'SUNNY' ON THE DOORBELL ONLY, BESIDE SOME CHINESE LETTERS. THE BELL BOARD CAN BE REACHED FROM THE BACKYARD.YOU DO NOT SEE ANY INDICATION ABOUT THE HOTEL ON THE STREET SIDE!!

Nice hotel near central station. Don't look for a big sign but check the adress and look for a sign near the doorbell. Rooms were very clean, the owner very nice (even though communication was little since he did not speak English very well). As fas as we are concerned: very nice hotel for a visit to Rome!

A nice little hotel there is not far from the main station. The owners are Chinese and do not speak English very well, so not a place you want to have problem. Just a little note to help others: You have to pay upon arrival at the hotel; the payment will not work automatically! (We didn’t know that and it made quiet lot confusion when we arrived)

Nice hotel with very good price-quality relation. The elivator was working which was good. The distance to termini station is max. 10 minutes by foot which is okay. With the same budget I would come back again. Next time though a will learn a few words of Chinese...

I would suggest that you clarify the directions on your map, because this hotel is one floor in a building - so hard to locate unless you go right up to the building and read what is displayed next to each buzzer. We went around the block several times before we found it. Also, while the staff is really nice, they speak no English or French and very little Italian (they are Chinese), so hard to communicate when you have a little problem that you need to take care. (In our case, we were pick-pocketed and had to place a call to our bank and credit card companies. They were very nice about it, but appeared to be worried about who would pay for the call.

There are even lots of feedbacks so I will just do a short review: Both, me and my girlfriend were quite glad to stay in Hotel Sunny for 3 nights, the rooms were proper, the service was OK and the price (for Rome)is comparatively reasonable. Please be aware to have your (small) breakfast at a small lobby table. Big Plus: The bus station is directly in front of the building and the Metro's also in walking distance (3min). Ideal to explore the city. There was just one thing which vexed us because that guy (who manages everything in that little hotel) is really NOT unfriendly: Just on our arrival, he asked for cash in advance, we did not accept to pay cash, but paid with credit card one day later - as a sign of goodwill.

It does not appear on the web site but the management is chinese, speaks little english and little italian but they are trying hard to please their guests. The hotel is a bit difficult to find. it ison the 4th and last floor of a fairly large building. There is no sign telling you it is a hotel and on the bells at the main entrance be sure to choose the one in chinese completed with the only western word "sunny". Besides this, excellent stay in Rome, Ciao!

The Sunny was nearly impossible to find. The map wasn't adequate for the obstacles one encountered hunting for it. The street ended in one direction and started in another, and on the other side of the street. Confused? So were we. The area we were looking in was littered with garbage, also making us think we were in the wrong place. The only way we found it was by running into, and asking, a man hanging around the train station (we had retraced our steps for the third time when we saw him). He offered to show us the way. We, tired from a 5 hour train ride and frustrated by our efforts, were leery about trusting him. In order to not lug all our luggage on a, possibly, 4th wild goose chase, I left my valuables with my friend, who stayed at the train station with our luggage, and followed the man. He said he worked for some organization that was connected to a variety of hotels and could help people to their hotel if they had a reservation there (we did). He said he wouldn't charge us anything. He led me through the same littered area and to the hotel safely. It was in a place we never would have looked. Once there, I checked with the desk clerk to verify my reservations before going back to my friend. The man behind the desk was brusque and surly toward me, appearing to not have any interest in helping me. He angrily made it clear he spoke no English and didn't even want to listen to my feeble Italian. My "guide" intervened. When I arrived with my friend, the desk clerk, who we later found out was the owner, was polite and welcoming, speaking mostly to my friend, a man. Was it a gender issue? The room was comfortable though street noise was distracting. In the morning, we tried paying with a credit card (a sign offering this service was in clear view) and the clerk/owner fussed about it asking for cash. When we insisted on using a credit card stating that we hadn't enough cash to pay for the room (this was our last day in Italy), he relented.

The hotel was actually a bit difficult to find upon arrival since its entrance is located from a backyard and there is no visible sign from the street. The hotel is then situated at the fifth floor. Yes, there is a small elevator. The reception was excellent. We were supposed to arrive late in the evening but due to fog both airports of Rome were exceptionally closed. After being redirect to Pescara airport at the other side of Italy, and a 3h15min bus tour back to Rome, we finally arrived at 04h30 in the morning. A sleepy hotel host in his nightgown was still able to give us a warm welcome – outstanding! The room was very correct for a 2 stars hotel. Everything was clean and the bathroom and shower were nice. The furnishing was simple but well planned with a wardrobe, television and even a safe on the wall. The hotel is located at the eastern side of Rome, a ten minutes walk from Termini. Although there are hotels at a more central position, we felt we were central enough to access everything by foot. And of course, all busses and the metro are available at Termini. The breakfast was included in the price. It’s not like the breakfast buffés at the bigger hotels but we found the basics like coffee, yoghurt, orange juice and croissants (or similar). Finally, we were very pleased with the hotel. We got everything we expected and paid for i.e. a nice and clean family hotel with a lovely reception at an affordable price. If there is anything to improve, I would recommend to put a sign with the hotel name visible from the outside and maybe add a few more choices to the breakfast.

The hotel owners are very kind and helpful. The room was immaculate and there was even a little balcony, definitely a plus. It is conveniently located near Termini, making transit easy. Don't be afraid of the elevator, though small it does work. They also offer a very nice breakfast. The value was excellent, I would recommend this hotel and would also come back. Thank you.

While the room was fine and the bathroom new and clean, our stay at the Hotel Sunny was a nightmare. First, they stuck my father-in-law in the tiny, airless little room behind the front desk which the night clerk normally uses. It had no bathroom. They promised this was temporary, but then refused to move him and rented the en suite room he had reserved to someone else. The night clerk was by turns sullen and maniacal. He did not speak Italian or English. He resorted to shouting at us in Chinese and performing alarming, aggresive- seeming charades, complete with theatrical hand chopping motions. The hotel is on the 4th floor and the elevator was broken. In the morning, we were to take a taxi very early to the airport. We ordered the taxi, only to discover that the clerk had gone out and locked the front door from the outside with his key. We were unable to get out. If there had been a fire, we would all have been trapped. When the clerk returned, my father-in-law gave him a 50 euro note to pay his bill. The corner of the note was torn, though the number 50 was still clearly legible. To add insult to injury, the clerk made a great show of taking out another note and comparing them, as though we were trying to pass a phony bill. I hated the Hotel Sunny!
