Second stay at this small hotel. Good quad for family (really two rooms). Price high - would come more often/stay longer if it were cheaper! Rooms at back v quiet, only buzz from electrics disturbing us. Breakfast could be much better for same cost to hotel. Big problem was getting in late at night, as it is unstaffed. Phone numbers only INSIDE building, outside 4th floor entrance, and you need to persist. Someone answered one of the lines and told me it was wrong hotel. Then someone else answered from same hotel and let me in remotely!!

How to reach Merulana Inn

By car
From the GRA Grande Raccordo Anulare, take the 'via Tuscolana' exit and follow signs to the city centre. After 6.5 km, turn left into Viale Furio Camillo and take via Appia Nuova. Reach the round-about at Piazza Re di Roma, and follow signs to Piazza San Giovanni. Proceed straight on via Emanuele Filiberto and turn left into Viale Manzoni. Then turn right into Via Merulana. Proceed towards Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica.

By train
From the Termini train station, take the 'via Giolitti' exit, proceed for about 50 metres and turn left into 'via Gioberti'. Proceed straight on until the end of the road and reach Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore. Then turn left in Via Carlo Alberto. Turn immediately to your right where you will see the Banca Popolare di Milano and via Merulana.
Alternatively, from Termini station, you can also take the bus line 714 and 16 and get off at the Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica stop.

By airplane
The Roma Fiumicino airport is connected to the city by highway or by a local train service, called Leonardo Express, leaving every 30 minutes for Termini station.
The Roma Ciampino airport is just a few bus stops from underground line A terminus Anagnina. The ride to Termini takes about 20 minutes.
