Hard to get there, would had been happier with a different room, weather condition was extraordinairy awful - who cares - restaurants are spoiled by too many tourists - no need to make efforts... I will go there again.

A nice "hotel" (actually only rooms in a building - an agency located elsewhere takes care of the check in etc. This caused some problems when I wanted to contact the hotel before arrival - there is nobody there to answere!) with good facilities in Riomaggiore, Cinque Terre

What a quaint and gorgeous place Riomaggiore, and la casa di venere, is! It's like actually living in the community for a while. Qhite a few steps to negotiate, but that's the nature of the place. Even had my own little clothes line out of the shuttered windows!! Heavenly!

They welcome us as they save us the life. The bathroom was poor clean. We had an conditioning air in the room but disconnected (didn't work) but instead of it, we had a very noisy fan but we should use it because the hot was horrible and the air didn't run across these closed streets. The room of my friend was with private bathroom, and its private bathroom was outside the room! in the general corridor. It's not a luxury house, it's something very expensive for the services that offer. The matress were very comfortable.

Given that Riomaggiore is a fairly expensive resort, the very central accommodation was good value for money. Unusually the rooms were very spacious and impeccable in service, facilities, decor and ambience. The upper appartment for 3/4 was particularly well designed and finished, although the a/c was non-functioning whilst we stayed. In retrospect it may be worthwhile paying more for a room with a view perhaps outside one of the more popular resorts, up in the hills e.g.Biassa. The walks on the higher ridge top footpath (1) were the highlight of the trip. However our stay at Casa di Venere was delightful, despite it being in peak season in August.

Travellers Beware. On arrival at the address given on all email correspondence for Casa De Venere in Riomaggiore, Cinque Terre, there was a single door from an alley. No one answered door, no one was there. I went back and forth for 4 hours. Been travelling 10 hours from Cornwall UK. Had to book alternative rooms. Later that night found another venue where woman was from Casa De Venere. When I said what had happened she swore at me. Shouted at me, stood over me and said it was my problem. Do not book through Casa de Venere website for Riomaggiore. Apparently the same rooms are book by different hotels. I had to pay for the night I did not stay at the property and they took no responsibility. Following day after my complaints they had lights on, sign up and door open. It appears they do what they feel like. Spoilt stay in Riomaggiore. when I saw them in the small town they scowled at me and were abrupt. Never again.

There is almost no correlation between this property in reality and as represented in the photos. Our room looked NOTHING like the photos: dingy, dark and in ill-repair...outlets hanging out of the wall, door on the rather strange shower falling off. As for the surroundings, you are in an alley so narrow you can touch the buildings on both sides. It is FAR removed from the ocean. The only view is of the wall across the alley. It is noisy because you can hear the neighbors talking, coughing, flushing. The bathroom window is immediately adjacent to that of another apartment where the resident spent his time smoking so that the smoke entered our room. Most galling, however, is that it is almost impossible to find. After tromping up and down Riomaggiore's hills in the heat for over an hour, I finally located the building in its tiny little alley, climbed all three flights of stairs, only to find that we had to phone someone to check in. Fortunately, on the way back down to the Tabacchi to buy a phone card, I encountered lady who told me I needed to check in with the agency back down at the bottom of the hill. What agency? No where on this web site is that mentioned nor was I informed of this even though I e-mailed the facility three different times (receiving NO reply). When I finally found the agency, very near heat exhaustion, the agent ridiculed me for wandering around looking for the apartment. All in all, it was a horrible experience which could have been alleviated by two things: presenting truthful photos and informing the client that there is an agency at the BOTTOM of the hill on the main street that will check you in and LEAD you to your room. This is the first time we have been disappointed by a Venere property. Thank goodness we were only there for one night!

If you are able to climb stairs the place was wonderful. You could walk from the train station with your luggage Very good facility, excellent accesss to the everything, food and sights. Very safe and quiet. There was a very nice cafe within a short walking distance with excellent service. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and updated equipment. We were able to get the BBC on their cable telivision.

3 of us paid for a 4 bed apartment but it was well worth it! we had private external access that led out to an amazing and quiet path (even in peak season)with an incredible view of the sunset. The kitchen wasn't equipped yet. This place is tucked away behind the main street so private yet still amoungst it all. Im not sure that the other rooms have such great acess to views etc? But ours was perfect!!!

Nicest room (recently remodeled), we stayed in, for the money in Italy. Staff was also the most helpful and friendly we exprienced. A little difficult to find since no map was posted on website. Also, no window views, but our stay was relaxing and we wish we could have stayed longer.
