Where is Misano Adriatico? Misano Adriatico is located in the Rimini province, which is in the Emilia-Romagna region. The town is approximately 120 kilometers south of Bologna.
Whenever I think about Misano Adriatico I instantly smile and my nostrils flare up, reaching for that delicious smell.
It is the smell of a faint sea breeze floating around the colourful, buzzing evening market of Misano. As the sun falls away, dropping into the pristine Adriatic waters into the horizon, Misano’s fine-sand beaches are slowly emptied and the market hums as people make their way up to inspect all the goods on offer.
Encircled by bumpy green hills, Misano feels like a secret location you do not want to let slip. It is just as beautiful by night as it is during its long, hot days, and despite the beautiful beach and coastline to explore by day, it is hard to forget those warm evenings, the smell of the sea and steamy fresh fish dishes mixing with sounds of people scurrying around.

Another fun option in Misano Adriatico is Villa delle Rose, a discotheque that has a wonderful mix of locals and visitors. Finally, you will want to visit the Centro Giovani Il Messicano for Italian-style entertainment. This cultural center offers shows, movies, performances and art featuring the culture and history of the area.

There are a number of beaches in Misano Adriatico, but Calypso Beach is one of the highest rated by visitors. There is a lot to do on this beach from listening to entertainers such as calypso bands to running with the kids on the playground. If you are interested in checking out what is beyond the borders, a day trip to San Marino might be a great option for you. Located only 30 kilometers away, San Marino is an independent republic contained within Italy. San Marino has an open border with Italy, so you are free to go in and out as you please.
Most people will head right to the capital, also called San Marino, though it is recommended that you park your car just outside and walk in because the streets can be narrow and difficult to maneuver. Walking around the city will bring a number of surprises, and you never know what you will find around each corner.
Insider Tip: If visiting San Marino, make sure to check out the local beer and sample some limoncello, a lemon liquor.
Just about 4 kilometers outside of Misano Adriatico is the lovely Aquarium of Cattolica. A variety of sea life resides in over 100 tanks. Species range from flat sharks and penguins to playful otters and snakes. There are a number of interactive exhibits that allow visitors to touch and hold the animals on display.

Located next to the water, Parco Mare Nord is a beautiful beach and park in Misano Adriatico. In addition to the sparkling water and warm sand, there are picnic areas, children's playground areas and lush green canopies, which many flock to for shade during the hot summer.
