Val di Fassa is located within the Dolomiti Superski Area, north-east Trentino, with slopes above 2500 meters. Skiing and snowboarding can be done throughout the season but also nordic walking, ice hockey, and even night skiing.
Useful Ski Info: There are slopes for all levels, with a couple of really challenging black ones, such as the Portavescovo and the Ciampac. For cozy bars and delicious local restaurants head to the cities of Vigo di Fassa, Canazei, and Moena.
Lifts and Slopes in Val di Fassa: 87 modern lifts and 230 km (142 mi) of slopes. Slopes include 17 blue, 34 red and 4 black.
Expert skiers should try the popular black slopes -Portavescovo and Ciampac. The Christomannos stays open two evenings a week for those who want to ski under the stars!
Ski pass Info: The Dolomiti Superski pass gives you access to 12 different ski areas, with 1220 km (758 mi) of slopes. With the Val di Fassa-Carezza pass you can ski from Canazei to the Costalunga Pass. The TreValli pass gives you access to the Moena ski area, which includes the Alps Lusia, Bellamonte, Passo San Pellegrino and Falcade.
Weather in Val di Fassa: Heavy snowfalls and sunny days alternate perfectly during the winter season. Between December and February temperatures are usually subzero.
Val di Fassa ski buses are easy to navigate. There is an extensive bus system in the Val di Fassa area that operates from December to April and services a wide range of cities and ski areas. The buses cover over 20 kilometers from Moena to Canazei and stop at numerous ski lifts in Funivia Belvedere, Funivia Col Rodella, Lusia and Col Margherita.
Local hotels that are associated with the Val di Fassa Tourist Board will have bus schedules and offer tickets at reduced prices. Depending on your needs, you can purchase different types of tickets, which are sold as daily, 2-day, 3-day and 7-day passes. The 7-day passes generally offer the most cost-effective option.
There are plenty amazing ski tours to choose from in Val di Fassa! The Sella Ronda tour is a very well-rounded circuit ski tour that covers a variety of ski runs, encompassing over 40 kilometers of skiing. The tour’s entry points are located at Canazei and Campitello. The entire tour goes around the Sella Ronda Massif and takes approximately 6 hours to complete.
Moena offers the famous Giro delle Tre Valli ski tour, which boasts some of the best sightseeing in the area. Skiers will enjoy fantastic views of the Gruppe delle Pale and the Marmolada Glacier.
