Located on the foot of the Matterhorn, Cervinia is a high-altitude ski resort in the Aosta Valley – the glacier’s slopes are open till summer! The resort has cruising slopes for beginners and intermediate skiers, but also direct access to the more challenging slopes of the Zermatt resort.
Useful Ski Info: The area features 2 snow parks - the Indian Park, for more expert snowboarders, and the Cervinia Cool Park, ideal for beginners and kids. Cross-country skiers will love Cervinia’s 3 km (1 mi) trail of natural snow.
Lifts & Slopes in Cervinia Ski Area: Cervinia has 8 lifts and 150 km (93 mi) of slopes. The resort is linked to the resorts of Valtournenche and Zermatt (Switzerland) for a total of 350 km (217 mi) of slopes.
Ski Pass Info: The Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche pass gives you access to Cervinia and Valtournenche. The International Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche Zermatt pass gives you access to the Swiss resort of Zermatt too.
Weather in Cervinia Ski Area:Snow is guaranteed throughout the entire winter season thanks to the snowmaking systems. On the Matterhorn Glacier the ski season lasts till summer.
Yes! The Indian Park, a snow park built in 2003, resides in the Cervinia ski area. The park rests at over 3000 meters above sea level and provides an expansive vista for snowboarding and skiing. The snow park offers 40,000 square feet, or 4 acres, for free-styling activities. The snow park is serviced by a chair lift and provides rails and kickers for snowboarders and skiers to practice tricks.
An offshoot of Indian Park called the Cervinia Cool Park is specially designed for beginners and children in the Cretaz area. The Cool Park offers mini kickers, a mini pyramid, and butter boxes for patrons to enjoy. Both parks feature music and events throughout the season.
Yes! A natural ice skating rink rests in Campetto del Cretaz and serves the Cervinia area during the winter season. The rink is open day and night, allowing for picturesque, sunny skating as well as skating under the stars for a nominal skating fee. The rink is located at the bottom of the Cretaz chair lift and is a relaxing destination after an intense day of skiing.
The rink offers open skating and an occasional arranged hockey match. You'll enjoy amazing views as the rink rests at the foot of the Matterhorn. It is also located next to a bar, giving you an opportunity to warm up and grab refreshments after a day of skating.
