The charming and romantic Claridge Swiss Quality Hotel Tiefenau is located in the midst of a floral garden, right in the city centre of Zurich (3-4 minutes walk to the Old Town) and just off the Museum of Fine Arts and the theater.
The Feng Shui fountain in the hall, welcomes guests and the romantic entrance leads them in a remote world. The property, built in 1835 as private mansion, was modernized and renovated in 2002 by the famous architect Pia Schmid and met with universal approval.
The Claridge, suited not only for tourists but also for business travellers (a meeting room that can host up to 15 persons is also available), pampers its guests with different services: opera and theatre ticket reservations, massage therapies, shuttle service to and from the airport and tips for restaurants, bars or excursions in Zürich and its surroundings.

travelling with friends we found the hotel sufficient and rather well located vis a vis the bahnhofstrasse.rrom was clean but not to spacious.parking was available and ok.

it is a clean hotel in a quiet area. the room was wide and nice. A/C was very good (not all Zurich hotels have A/C, it is a point for this hotel) also the water heater with tea and coffe were complementry (nice touch from the hotel) i did not like the pilow it was very soft also, the breakfast is acceptable (it should be better because it is an open buffet)

Quiet setting, nice room with an slightly old-fashioned but cosy look. Very comfortable king-size bed. We had a very pleasant breakfast (a very, very nice buffet, by the way) in the garden, under the trees. Staff very helpful and smiling.

Directions on Venere were listed incorrect. Very nice hotel in quiet surroundings. Close to the Zurich museum.

The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. The room was very clea, quiet and a good size as well as the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable but the furniture, instead of looking antique really just looked dated. But I would still go back there. It is not a far walk to part of the downtown area either.

How to reach Claridge Swiss Quality Hotel
By car
From St. Gallen/Schaffhausen/Winterthur:
From the highway, follow the indications towards the city centre of Zurich; after the tunnel turn left and take the right lane. After the traffic light turn right and continue straight ahead after the first bridge. Take the left lane to the Central Platz and continue in direction of Forch/Rüti. Pass 4 traffic lights, go on in direction of Forch/Rüti and after the 5th traffic light turn onto Zeltweg. Finally, take the first road left (Steinwiesstraße), where you will find the hotel.
By train
From the main railway station take tram line 3 or bus line 31 and get off at Kunsthalle.
By airplane
From the airport take the express train (S-Bahn) nr. 16 or 2 to the railway station and follow the above mentioned indications. The ride by express train takes approximately 10 minutes. A hotel shuttle service from the airport is available and subject to charges.
