Located in the centre of this picture-postcard Swiss alpine village, the Bernerhof Hotel in Kandersteg enjoys stunning views of the unspoilt mountain landscape around. The hotel is an ideal starting point for going hiking, mountain climbing or downhill and cross-country skiing, as it is near the cable cars and chairlifts taking hikers up to the Gemmi Pass and Lake Oeschinen. In winter, a cross-country skiing trails runs right in front of the hotel too.
This Kandersteg hotel in Switzerland is the perfect place for summer hiking holidays and winter skiing vacations in this winter wonderland which has been renowned for its natural beauty since Roman times. The Bernerhof Swiss Quality Hotel has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, which you will be more glad to return to after a day's hiking, skiing or climbing around the mountains.
Hearty Swiss mountain cuisine and some international favourites are served in the hotel's restaurant, just what is called for after all that mountain air. If you are feeling a little soar or just want to take it easy, then the hotel has a sauna, steam bath, ice grotto and a Kneipp shower to sooth any aching muscles. Mountains bikes are also available for the more energetic, although there is only a limited number.

How to reach Bernerhof Swiss Quality Hotel
By car
From the north: Take the motorway towards Berne and then the A6 Motorway to Thun and Spiez. Continue on this road until you reach Kandersteg.
By train
From Zürich/Basel/Berne: There are regular trains from Berne, Zürich and Basel to Kandersteg Railway Station which is only a few minutes' walk from the centre of town. It takes 1 hour in train from Berne and 2 hours 30 minutes from Zürich and Basel.

The hotel's restaurant boasts an extensive menu featuring a wide choice of starters, soups, fish and meat dishes including trout from Blausee, meat fondue, emincé of veal in a cream Zurich sauce, all served with Grandmother's rösti, roast potatoes with bacon, mushrooms and cheese.
