This is a typical European type hotel. The rooms are not as spacious as Americans are used to, but they are clean, comfortable, and have everything you need. You have to specify if you want a room with a tub when making a reservation. The best part of the hotel is the restaurant. The food is OUT OF THIS WORLD! With everything from sea food to steaks, which is not common for German hotels, there was definitely something for everyone. And the breakfast buffet is unparalled in any European hotel I've stayed in, to include the Marriots and Hiltons. Overall, I enjoyed my stay tremendously. I will stay here again, next summer when my family vacations in Garmisch.
How to reach Wittelsbacherhof Swiss Quality Hotel
By train
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is on the railway line Munich-Innsbruck. Trains run in both directions hourly. Travel time Munich-Garmisch is 90 minutes, Innsbruck-Garmisch 75 minutes.
By car
From Munich approximately 80 km, expressway A95 in the direction of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. From the end of the expressway at Eschenlohe, follow B2 (10 km). After the tunnel, follow direction Partenkirchen, turn right at the 2nd traffic light. The hotel is located about 300 meters on the left.
From Innsbruck:approximately 55 km, take the road via Seefeld and Mittenwald to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, turn left at the 5th traffic light. The hotel is located about 300 meters on the left.
