Be very careful when booking through this website for this hotel. When we arrived they didn't have any confirmation of our booking and then told us we had to pay an extra 20CHF for the room even though I had produced the confirmation email. The hotel itself is ok, it's certainly nothing flash. The pillows are horrible and are lumpy but apart from that it's a typical 3 star hotel. You definitely get what you pay for and nothing more but it is central and ok. Apparently most places in Bern are expensive so if you just need a hotel for a night or two this place will do but I wouldn't stay here if I was making this my only destination for a holiday.

Great Central location with good breakfast, tidy rooms and friendly staff, but a warning, this hotel is located on a very busy square in the center of Bern. Needing to keep windows open in the summer exacerbated the problems. Rooms facing the square are very noisy until late at night, even with the windows closed. While we were there, the square was cleaned by loud street sweepers at 3:30 am with traffic noises starting early in the morning.

This is a very good hotel. The service is high qulity and excellent, the room is spacious and the facilities are satisfactory. The rate of quality and price is very good. Surly, we would come if we have a chance to visit Bern again.

The stay in this hotel was what we would expect from a 3 star in all aspects such as price, room, and breakfast etc. The only complaint that we have is that there is no employee at the front desk from 5pm in the evening to 8am or so in the morning. To check in after 5 you must go across the street to another hotel and retrieve your key. This activates both the front door to the hotel as well as your room so security immediately enters your mind when you consider that you may be returning late at night from a nightclub or such. It was a little un-nerving. You also could not call the front desk if you needed something, you had to actually leave the hotel and cross the street to talk to that receptionist. But other than this, when somebody was on duty during the day, they were very helpful and had all the information we needed about locations, buses, trains, internet...etc. The street was quiet and the rooms were cozy. I would happily stay here again if they employee somebody during the night to simply make sure that no unwelcome visitors enter the building and I can have somebody there if I have an emergency.

Good location. As advertised. Slightly old decor but good value for money. Normal city centre traffic noise. Breakfast is basic but OK.

The room was fairly basic - simple furnishings etc., but the shower room was better. It was very noisy from quite early in the morning 6:00 onwards, making sleep difficult. This was due to it being in the centre of the old town and there are lots of lorries unloading from early in the morning. Good location. The breakfast room was very pleasant. Helpful staff.
