The hotel is old and shabby. Taps in bathroom were hard to close so they wouldn't leak or drip. Music from room next door was fairly constant. Still for around $80.00 per night and 20 minutes from downtown by foot in the heart of chinatown and a cool bohemian neighborhood nearby both with great inexpensive restaurants it is a deal. If you are fussy you won't like it though.

Rooms at the Marriott Courtyard were not available for the entire duration of my stay. I saw the Studio6 was close to downtown and about 1/2 the price of the Marriott, and included a kitchenette. Pros: 1. Room was clean, at least on first observation 2. Kitchenette included frige, stove, microwave, pots, pans, cooking implements, dinnerware, silverware, mugs and glasses, dish cloth and towel, all in very good condition 3. Television was flat screen with standard Rogers programming 4. Close to a Loblaws grocery, shopping area, Chinatown, street car to downtown and subways It was basically what I expected. The room was smaller than expected, but OK for 1 traveler, maybe for 2, but likely not more. Just 1 bed. Cons: 1. Located in a dirty neighborhood with loose trash blowing around in the streets and yards. Looked like a subsidized housing area. 2. Inside of hotel was not maintained well with disconnected washer/dryer in stairwell. Not sure if there was a guest laundry because of that. 3. The hangers in the closet were the kind where the ring fits over the clothes bar so the hanger cannot be stolen. The hangers were of such poor quality I couldn't separate the hanger from it's ring, resulting in the whole clothes bar with clothes falling to the closet floor several times. This was particularly irksome. 4. The chain on the toilet handle disconnected from the mechanism, meaning I had to flush by taking the lid off of the toilet during my last night and morning. It was apparent the lid of the toilet hadn't been cleaned in sometime. Dusty and grimy. 5. The water in bathroom sink sprayed out with great intensity, and was difficult to adjust lower. Water splattered outside sink, a daily aggravation. 6. No dish soap or paper towels provided. 7. No coffee maker. 8. One night I tried to schedule a wake-up call with the office several times over the course of 3 hours and no one ever picked up the phone.

A little hard to find. Used to be an apartment, now converted to a hotel. If you want access to your own kitchen at a fairly low price, probably a good choice. (I was awakened by kids playing in the hall at 7 AM). As a single traveller, I would pay $10. more and stay somewhere else.

I was there for one night. The man on the reception was very kind and helpful (my computer could not connect to the (complementary)WLAN: he allowed me to use his own notebook. The room was clean and calm enough. The location is very good: short walking distance to Chinatown, walking distance to Queen´s etc., short distance to the excellent Toronto Traffic System (Tram, Subway). The hotel is hard to find, because Grange Ave. is almost unknown to residents and is interrupted by 2 parks; a better description or good map would be helpful.

We went to Toronto to visit CN Tower and we stayed in the hotel just for a night. The hotel is not far from downtown. The room was not very clean and looked like not comfortable.

The hotel is situated near China Town and you can visit the city on foot. The location is very good. A large parking.

The Grange hotel is a great deal for a short stay in Toronto. The neighbourhood is lower class, but dignified and seemingly safe. There are cheap eateries at a walking distance, although nothing fancy. The rooms are small but very clean and quiet. Overall, I'll be staying there again, whenever I go back to Toronto.
