We checked in very early and the staff decided to put us in a disabled room. The room was small, the so called 'queen' size bed was more like a 'double' bed and their linnen needs updating. The lifts were tiny and you can be waiting up to 10 mins to get to your floor. They sure need a good update! Would not stay there ever again!!

This hotel was a fantastic location for first time visitors to NY. The rooms were small (well tiny)but had everything we needed for a few nights stay, More than a few nights would have been a struggle because of the lack of wardrobe space. But if you simply want somewhere to sleep and shower it is great. If we had ordered breakfast it would have had to be eaten in bed as there was no where else to sit! Our biggest regret was buying a glass of wine on the last day that cost us $34 for 2 glasses of red when the pub next door only charged $6 a glass. We were on the 2nd floor and could here the music from the nightclub below but we were so shattered it really didnt bother us. However if your light sleepers we would recommend you ask for a room higher up. Staff were helpful and we would stay there again and recommend it to others.

The rooms were so small it was ridiculous. (Even the NY staff was in agreement) The Service was ok. Paint spots on floors in bathrooms (very sloppy painters did not clean up) One coat of paint on the walls??? Craters in floors where the very stylish carpet was simply thrown over.. Glorified Motel 6 Elevators were incredibly slow (a cat and mouse chase between the two elevators to avoid long waits). The elevator door alarms sounded all night! HVAC in room was so loud. Screeching and vibrating all night. Engineer came 3 times. They moved me three times!! I didn't sleep my first night at all because of the elevator alarms sounding, doors slamming and the HVAC....not to mention the car garage next door - car alarms go off throughout night - you can hear ALL the street noise (and I was on the 7th floor). Hated staying. Redeeming factor was the bell, maintenance, bar and restaurant service. Front office was totally inept. The bell guy who stored the luggage told me he hired a town car to take me to the airport. My taxi driver said they aren't supposed to do that....when the car showed, it was a dirty white limo that looked like it just arrived from a hard road trip from Vegas. Bell guy was irritated when I told him that I would just stick to the taxi... ALL the guests were commenting on the same issues (Long conversations in the elevator because we had the time :) Will never go back... All that and they charge $260 a night!!! When I complained they gave me a plate of fruit and coupons for the bar...maybe if I stayed drunk and ate melon, I wouldn't make up for the probs....How about give me my money back!!

The staff were very friendly and enthusiastic. Hotel was very designer-edgy but we found the room we booked to be unrealistically small. It was literally only large enough to contain the bed! I wonder how guests with larger builds are able to move inside? We had to climb over our suitcases and shuffle sideways to access the wardrobe! Location-wise this hotel is perfect for those wanting to be close to the action on Times Square. It is just a few steps away from the TKS site. Value for money is due to the location and not from the room size. But anyone who is visiting NYC will NOT be staying in their rooms anyway so it's ok!

Stay.Hotel is literally located right around the corner from Times Square, so you are always close to where the action is and close to the subway at 42nd Street and at 49th Street (both at Times Square). The rooms really are small - we had a hard time figuring out where to put our two suitcases - and there's hardly any closet space. BUT the rooms are very well decorated, everything is clean and the bathroom is a very good size. There's free wifi in the reception/lounge area. To get access to the wifi in your room cost $10 a day. There's no breakfast included, but there are several good breakfast places nearby.

Rooms are a complete disaster. Extremely small, basically 4 walls surrounding a bed. Not even a closet. Very noisy as well. The worst was the really bad smell in the rooms. We were totally unsatisfied with our first room so we complained and got another one slightly bigger but even more noisy and the smell in the bathroom was absolutely unbearable. We were supposed to stay 3 nights but we decided to run away after the first night.

The location was exceptional, place was very clean. The room was small, but we pushed the bed against the wall, which freed up a lot of room for cases etc. It was exactly what we needed as we spent most of the day out sightseing. I would recommend to anyone!!

An ideal location near the Broadway and Times Square. Good service with an amicable ambience and professional staff. People might not be too satisfied with the spaciousness of room but this is in NYC. The overall experience is quite pleasant and would return to it.

The lobby of the Hotel is very contemporary and beautiful, but was unable to use it. Lobby and common area shown on website was blocked off for private party...which was sooo loud I could hear it on my 3rd floor room until 3:30 in the am. Rooms are very small even by NY standards. I had to turn sideways to walk around the bed and I am not a large person. Restaurant service was poor. Would not book here again.

Rooms are a little cramped, but clean and comfortable. Take a torch as not much natural light gets in and room lighting doesn't quite cut the dark! Hotel location is great for Time Square and Central Park and many other attractions are only 15 mins or so walk. First time visitors and guide books are a must.

The rooms were small but that's to be expected in New York City. But overall, the experience was fabulous. The staff was so nice and helpful and you can't beat the location for the price! It's right in Times Square and near a subway stop so it's easy to navigate Manhatten. I will definately stay here again!

I have been to NYC numerous times but not recently. This hotel is within a block of a much less expensive hotel--The Edison--where I have stayed often in the past. I expected both a more updated decor and more space in the room based on what I was paying. The room was clean and the furnishings were quality but it was teeny tiny with no closet and almost no floor space once the suitcase was on the floor. The staff was helpful when asked for assistance.

First time staying at a boutique hotel. Not sure I would make the same choice again. For this type of hotel, accomodations were great. Rooms are small, as described by others. Just didn't realize they would be that small. Not what I am accustomed to. Very clean though. Lively nightclub downstairs.

This was a good hotel for a short trip to NY for one person. I had a good stay on a higher floor and my room was quiet (once I turned off the AC). The room was TINY though, would be hard with more than one! Fantastic location. Hotel itself isn't anything special, but good for utilitarian purposes. Restaurant is surprisingly good I have to say -

Stay is an excellent hotel, conveniently located within 30 or so metres of Times Square. The pricing is very competitive and the hotel and room were in excellent condition throughout our stay. Overall an excellent experience - I'd read that it's preferable to have a room above the 3rd floor due to the loud bar/club downstairs. Being on the ninth we had no problems, but this might be something to bear in mind while booking as over the weekends the bar is pretty loud.

We stayed in the Stay Hotel for a week, and it completely exceeded our expectations. The hotel was in a brilliant location, a few steps from Times Square and close to Rockefeller Centre, as well as several different subway stations, and it was easy to get back to even in the middle of the day. The hotel itself was lovely, very well designed, and the rooms were a good size, not as small as I was expecting after reading other reviews. My only complaint was that the elevators were quite slow but this was nowhere near enough to ruin the stay. Overall I would recommend this hotel very highly.

I'm not a fan of Times Square, but if that's where you want to be this hotel is perfect. Half a block off the action. Room was uncomfortably small, and we considered moving to another hotel, but the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was extraordinary. Bottom line, the price was right and the staff exceptional. Room small, but it's hard to find a reasonably sized room for a reasonable price in NYC.

Stay really exceeded my expectations. I was concerned for a tiny room and street noise based on other reviews. When you walk in, the lobby is modern and breathtaking in it's design. I was given an upgrade to a king room and was treated extremely well. Accomodations in the room such as an excellent BOSE Ipod dock were a great surprise. The room had ample space and was exactly what I needed with a nice size closet and comfy robes. The beds were incredibly comfortable. Best of all was location...one block from the theater I was attending. This place is a dream and I will return! We also really enjoyed Aspen, the lounge/restaurant downstairs. Great music, great vibe, and a wonderful breakfast to boot!

"STAY" came to me via Venere. They hadn't any rooms in the city due to conventions and I had to come last minute. The stay at Stay was magical! Lovely, lovely, lovely. What would I do next time? Stay here but get a room on a lower floor since the ONLY inconvenience was the slow elevators. Otherwise, I'm rating this an 11!!!

This hotel is in an excellent location 30 secs off times Square and two mins from rockafella center with a friendly irish bar next door and an american bbq restaurant next to that, check it out on google earth. Going the other way is a small deli store and a cheap cafe that does good breakfast deals. The hotel itself was very clean and although the room was small it was very adequate, anyway you don't go to new york to stay in a hotel room! The only time we heard any noise in our room was on saturday night from the music in the bar, but heh it's saturday night. Bar was expensive $8.00 for a bottle of bud but theres a lot cheaper places just round the corner. Overall would definetly stay there again, Comfy beds brilliant shower and fantastic location.

We were 8 people, 5 adults and 3 guys of 27 years old. The occasion for our stay in New York was new year's eve. We spent there 8 wonderful days. The hotel is perfect for the position, near to Times square, the subway is near too. Rooms are beautiful but not big. We had 3 small rooms and 1 big. However we recommended this hotel to everybody because the staff is very good, we lost 2 luggages at jfk airport and the staff helped us until the end. After 2 days the luggages arrived in the hotel, in our rooms.

Very nice and well furbished hotel. A very good free wi-fi is available in the lobby, but it is not free in the rooms. Bedrooms are very small, and wardrobes are too small if you are in 2. Rooms should be more acoustically isolated because doors keep slamming at every hour. In addition, the cleaning ladies should not keep knocking at doors at 9 am. I mean, we are in NY! We're supposed to go to bed late, why should I be forced to wake up at 9? Rooms do not have any DO NOT DISTURB sign, not even a red light if you lock the door from the inside. Said this, the hotel is very charming and in an superb position, just less than 10 steps from the amazing Times Square! They also gave me a 15% discount voucher that I will use for my next trip.

This was the 3rd time in NY and the 1st at Stay Hotel. The rooms are EXTREMELY SMALL!!, also the closets! You should travel only with your carry-on bag in order to be able to put your things in there! Nice public places! No pool, no spa and nothing usual in a 4 star hotel. I would say it is a motel or a 2 star hotel, very well located indeed.

The Stay Hotel was in a fantastic location for all the tourist attractions, located literally a few steps off Times Sq. It presents itself as being a funky place to stay with great interior decor in the lobby, bar and restaurant. The bar was really busy early evening, with lots of New Yorkers, not tourists, using it as an after work drinks venue - it had a great atmosphere and music! We were really pleased to have found this place. The only negative comments would be that our room was miniscule, but that was to be expected in NY, and besides we spent little time in it. The 2 lifts were inadequate for the number of guests at peak periods which was a little frustrating. Nevertheless, we would definately stay here again!

Hotel was very nicely decorated and rooms were modern but there were some "teething" problems as the hotel is fairly new. Lift was very slow. Had to change room after two nights because of a leak. Staff was a bit rude. First room was tiny but "fortunately", due to the leak, got upgraded to a bigger one.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. We met a hotel that is being rebuilt, with a lot of work being performed and as the hotel only had one lift we do not like that is was occupied by workers half the time. It took up to 10minutes to get the elevator, and that was a bit too much especially as we were on the 7th floor stairs was not always an option...
