Starhotels Tuscany - Florence

Hi, The breakfast at the hotel was amazing with all sorts of breads, fruits and desserts. The staff was really helpful and hold our luggage for us to pick up at the end of the day because we were heading back to Rome. The location is great because the bus station is right in front of the hotel.

One of the finest breakfasts in Italy. Easy free parking off the autoroute. Short bus or cab ride to centre of town.

This hotel is excellent, new,modern and quiet.The price was excellent,too.

Clean, comfortable room equipped with soundproofed windows. Double bed was in fact two single ones moving around! Nice view from 8th floor. Breakfast was poor quality (juice, eggs diluted with water). Located next to an 8-lane arterial road, supermarket right behind. Can be recommended only with own car, but parking space severly limited!

Rooms are very confortable and projected in a very rational way. I specially have appreciated the readings lights in bed, the flexible mirror in the corridor and the rational exploitation of every space.

The hotel is located outside the city centre, but there is a bus stop just outside the hotel and the bus only takes 10-15 mins to the city centre. In addition the hotel operates a free shuttle bus to the train station and to the airport (although not very frequent). One of the big drawbacks with the hotel is that the wireless is very expensive (22 EUR/day if I remember right). In the first place it is unreasonable to charge internet connection on hotels in 2009 (many hotels in Italy does not).

Hotel sympa, accueillant, propre et bien placé,petit déjeuné agréable, réceptionnistes agréables et serviables, nous avons oublié qqc dans la chambre et on nous l'a renvoyé avec plaisir chez nous en suisse!! Merci et nous reviendrons!

We took double room on 10th floor very clean spacious bathroom was as new and v good design and with full facilities. Breakfast was great and overall stay was v good i do recommend it and will stay again there if in Florence again.

Breakfast should be improved, no great choice and quality. Too high price according the services offered. Good thing is the available parking for guests, but it's too small! Not enough places for all the cars...

A good hotel with compact modern rooms which are well furnished. Easy to catch the bus outside the hotel direct to Florence (Stay on the bus after the bus station and you will be taken near to the Duomo)

We did'nt stay at the star hotel tuscany ; we had to change to the star michelangelo; our reservation was'nt in order..

Florence is an expensive city and hotels are expensive as well. This hotel has a good price/quality rate and in 10-15 minutes you can reach easly S. Maria Novella (city center)..

New renovation, great staff

Really nice hotel in Florence. It is not right in the centre but it is a fairly short bus ride away from it. Buses are quite regular and they run till 1.30am or so. The price was sensational taking into account the quality of the hotel and the prices of the other hotels in Florence in June. The rooms were very clean, bright and spacious. Hotel is next to a road, but it doesn't have that much traffic and double glazing is superb. You could not hear a thing. There is a shuttle in the hotel to/from the train station but don't even bother. Schedule is bad and it goes through the sister hotel a few miles away before stopping in the Station. Bus is cheap, far quicker and more reliable. Full size supermarket just at the back of the hotel too. We will stay there again in our next visit to Florence.

Surbooking was the bad surprise... We refuse to go to another hotel, (which seems to be an usual practice for them) and had to wait 2 hours for a solution.

We were a group of five (stag-do!)and stayed in two rooms. The rooms were very clean and tastefully decorated. The aircon was very effective as was the excellent treble glazing. Bathroom was smart and well lit and had a bidet, bath and excellent shower. The area around the hotel wasn't amazing but from our room on the front of the building we had a reasonable view into the distance. Overall very good.

I was offended by the front desk staff's inability to answer simple questions without smug indifference. Incorrect information was deliberately given regarding directions, taxi's and their shuttle service. It was a clean efficient hotel. The breakfast was more than generous. I think the front desk staff needs to be retrained to deal with the public. It was listed as a hotel airport and it was not near the airport. I chose it because it had an airport shuttle. The shuttle service did not start until mid morning and was of no use to me.

Very pleasant stay, rooms are clean and confortable. You need a bus to get to the centre (it takes 15 minutes), the bus stop is in front of the hotel.

Excellent hotel!!! no matter how far is it from the historical area (15 minutes on public bus)... public transportation is available.. taxis are not expensive... The city is gorgeous! Rooms are great!

Splendito hotel, personale molto cortese.

Very quaint hotel with a nice little lobby bar. We were only there (2 rooms) overnight, but was very convenient to get to and from center of Florence with hotel shuttle. Surrounding area not fabulous, but was fine (has large supermarket with everything right behind). Quick and convenient access to airport. Rooms weren't spacious, but very sufficient and clean. Was pleasantly surprised. Would definitely stay again for airport access for early morning flight. They even made us breakfast to go in a take out box as we had to depart hotel at 4:30 am. Very thoughtful!

It's a business Hotel, service was OK and so the room provided. Just in front of it there's a Bus stop ( line 22 ) going straight to downtown. Recommended.

Hotel is great, our rooms were very comfortable. There is no view and you are a ways from town but they have shuttle service. Listen to the shuttle driver! He turned us on to the best dinner we had in our 2 week stay in Italy and it was not that far from the hotel.

We were travelling with our own car and we found this hotel very convenient for both the highway and the city centre; the airport is also nearby but you will not hear noises thanks to the soundproofed rooms. We were staying in a triple room (a double room with an extra bed), therefore the room was not so big for 3 adult sharing but we knew when we booked it. The room was modern and beautifully decorated, very bright, with confortable beds and it was fully equipped with fridge-bar, tea/coffee making facilities,free safe-deposit box and satellite tv; the bathroom was perfect with a little but powerful hairdrier (2000 Watts). The complimentary buffet breakfast was good and large. The hotel has a free shuttle bus service to the city centre at fixed times. Moreover, there is a bus stop just in front of the hotel (i.e. “Regione Toscana” bus stop) and you can also buy the tickets at the reception with no extra charge. The staff was friendly and gave us all the information we asked for. A supermarket is also next to the hotel, just in case you need to buy something! I would highly recommend this hotel to other travellers: great value and a very beautiful hotel indeed!

The hotel is on the ourskirts but we chose it because it sounded modern which it was. It is easy to get to by taxi or bus and although the surroundings are not pretty the hotel is extremely comfortable, with soundproofed rooms so not traffic noise at all which is essential in Florence. Very comfortable with great bathrooms.

Stayed in a double room with extra bed, so room was a little limited for three, but this is normal. Staff were friendly and helpful for check in and advice on places to eat etc. Hotel was excellent for online price. Staff were helpful and free shuttle bus to the centre of city was great. Limited food etc in area of hotel, but with the shuttle this was not a problem.

I was visiting Florence with my teenage daughter. I felt that the manager(?) (name starts w/ an S) did not welcome us as he did others who were checking-in at the same time. Did not inform us of complementary breakfast -- consequently, we missed out on breakfast the TWO mornings we were there. Were we discriminated upon? Possibly. For the price, not a good deal. Nowhere to go but in one's room or down to the reading corner in the lounge area. And the reception somewhat aloof. We will NOT be staying at this hotel again. (By the way, I'd like to be refunded the portion of the price I paid for the TWO MISSED BREAKFASTS!!!)

This was the most wonderful hotel we stayed in on our month long trip through Europe. I thought we would surely be charged more than the stated 105 euros (as some people had said they had at some other hotels) but we were not. This seemed to be a $300 hotel. Much nicer than the starhotel we stayed at in Venice which had not been upgraded yet but was supposed to be in the process of being remodeled. This hotel was not in the center of town but we rode one bus ride directly downtown (but they tried, unsuccessfully, to pickpocket my husband on the bus ( and 2 other times while in Italy.)

Great public areas, with a fireplace aside the bar that is really nice and warm. Rooms are well designed and confortable, with a large desk to work with laptop and more. The hotel was recently renewed, I was there before renovation and this is absolutely another kind of hotel (much much better). The only big big miss is the lack of a fitness room. Good place if you come to Florence by car (it's really a few minutes from Firenze Nord freeway exit). Not good if you want to make a walk in the neighborhood (you're far away from the historical center).

This is a great hotel.We have stayed in Florence before and almost all hotels are VERY expensive and not as nice as this one. It is a pity that is so far away from all the Firenze attractions

We stayed at this hotel one night just to be close to the airport for an early morning flight. Our room was GREAT...plush and comfortable...(but no view of anything) with a beautiful bathroom. It is not close to the city center but that wasn't important for us. Great breakfast buffet with everything you could ever want. There was only one little problem.... they informed us at checkin that the water would be turned off from 1 am until 6am to fix some problems. As I expected that it would turn out this way.... the water was not back on at 6am so I couldn't shower before we left and my husband used the bottled water in the frige to shave! I think they should have adjusted our bill but they didn't when I asked. Over all though, we would stay there again if we needed to be near the Florence airport as our room was great.

We cannot praise the hotle staff enough. Christina, the desk clerk, helped us confirm our flight the next day with Lufthansa, who had cancelled our reservations due to their mistake. Christina was amazing and helped us get home on time. We also ate the hotel restaurant, which was excellent. The rooms were modern and very quiet. It is a bit difficult to find, but I would stay at this hotel again!
