It's clean but old and on the outskirt of the city, parma isn't exactly a nice town in fairness so i wouldn't blame the hotel, we had to get a taxi to and from the city,.

A nice hotel in an old industrial building. Easy access to the city center and it's restaurants through the "parco ducale", around 10 minutes by feet. However the access to the park from the hotel is through a kind of wild area which would deserve some arrangement. Good breakfast. For the price payed I recommend.

While the hotel room was generally clean for some reason the ceiling was full of spiderwebs. We were there mid August which meant that the hotel had very few customers.

This is a very nice hotel which is centrally located with excellent facilities, competent staff and the price we got through venere.com was amazing! I suppose part of the reason is that we booked 6 months in advance.

Great service and excellent value, conveniently located to the Centro and to Parma's equivalent to Central Park. We only booked a single night and then added another once we arrived due to the quality of the hotel.

It is a very nice, traditional hotel. We really enjoyed our stay. The main positive surprise that we had, was the gorgeous "Parc" next to the hotel. It is cared, and safe. Families, couples, children and joggers use it during all day, and it is never threatening. The hotel is very nice: I would recomend a flat screen TV set.

This hotel looks like maximum 3*. During these days I'm travelling too much but I never seen a hotel you have to open your door with key. Moreever they have a huge key ring (at least 1/2 kg)!!! In my opinion they have to modificate their hotel as soon as possible. I'll never accomodate in this hotel before they modernize it. But staff was very helpful and good humored at all.

First, this is a 4-star business, not a b&b or boutique. It offers all the amenities you'd expect from a quality chain. The room was great, the beds extremely comfortable, a supermarket literally across the street and staff that were competent and available. It was hard to open a door without someone running to do it for you. The front desk was the best we've seen at recommending sights and restaurants. free Parking was a little hard to find but there's always the pay lot under the hotel if needed and only 10 e on weekends. The internet was not free but the hotel rates made up for it. A great experience.

The lobby of the hotel is very tastefully decorated. We had one of the larger rooms, which had a spacious bathroom. The soundproofing was adequate. The room had carpeting, which dampened the noise, and was fairly quiet at night even though you could hear plumbing, doors closing, and people on the street outside occasionally. The air conditioning in the room was great. Even though we were having some of the hottest days of summer, the room was a wonderful refuge from the heat. The staff was superb - very professional and very helpful for providing directions for things in town. The hotel is in a good location - a short walk to the old town, museums and train station. Being next to the park was an added bonus. There is a bank in the same building as the hotel with an ATM and a grocery store across the street. Parma is a little jewel that is not overrun by tourists. The food there is extraordinarily good. I'd recommend the La Forchetta in the old town for dinner. Some of the best gelato we'd ever had was in Parma. When we go back to Parma we will stay at the Du Parc again.

Some member of the staff were very kind and friendly, an important difference in the whole atmosfere of the staiyng. Location of the hotel permits to discoverever a wonderful and romantic garden, The Parco Ducale which offers a romantic entrance and approach to the town. Very nice building which was a ice factory and keeps its structure.

The standard of the hotel is quite high. The rooms are large, well furnished, and quite. The breakfast service (both for the food provided and the service offered) is not at the same level as the other services. The reception is extremely professional, but it results rather cool.

Excellent considering the price. Very spacious room, lacking in nothing. No noise at all. Breakfast was good (ask for Italian coffee). There is a beautiful public park behind the hotel and the centre of the city is only 15 minutes away. Of course, it's a big hotel with little "atmosphere", but we enjoyed our stay. I heartily recommend the Trattoria del Tribunale in the old city. The food was really excellent.

Great hotel but oriented more to corporate or groups. Very good breakfast selection. The hotel is adjacant to a very nice park for walking. Room was very well appointed. Staff were very helpful about things to do in the Parma area. First time to Parma and pleasantly surprised - it is very artsy and not touristy.

The rooms were spacious and clean, but old-fashioned in decoration, and altogether there was something dreary about the hotel. The breakfast was not up to the standard of other hotels in the same price range we booked in other nearby cities. The location on a busy commercial street is unattractive, and the entrance to the Ducal Garden behind the hotel is particularly ill-marked and unattractive. We would not have stayed there if the Hotel Verdi had been open during August, and would not stay there again even though we plan to visit Parma again in the future.

First time to Parma....great place for the price. Right next to big park that leads to "Downtown". The breakfast is the best buffet breakfast I have had in all of Europe, especially for the all-inclusive price. Nice hotel, rooms, and very accessible location in/out of town. Thanks Venere!

An excellent hotel overall. However, the restaurant was closed for several days, and the food available in the bar very limited and not particularly good, with its ambience also dull and unwelcoming. Breakfast was very adequate, but unvaried (same fruit every day). The distance through the park to the centre was said to be 5 minutes; it took that time to get to the park, and ten more to cross it. The park closed in the evening, with a much longer walk back (no buses after 8 p.m.) We were totally satisfied with every aspect of our room, and the desk staff.

Maybe we were lucky to get a double room for €115. Staying on a Sunday night probably helped. This was BY FAR the best hotel we found in Italy...real luxury-I still drool over the bedroom doors and frames, the bathrobes, the breakfast, the double handbasin, the desk staff who helped us make our next night's booking. It is a 7-minute walk to the centre of town. OK, so there's no hotel swimming pool.

This is one nice hotel. The minute you enter the lobby you realise they quality of stay you are going to have. I was expecting the typical Italian hotel but instead had a great stay in comfort. Bathrooms are impeccable and rooms are very nice. Rooms have air con/LCD TV (cable also), in room internet, mini bar, strong powerful showers, electronic safe in wardrobe. Staff are VERY professional and friendly and the location is good. You can exit the rear of the hotel into Parma's main park and then be in the center of Parma in 3-4 minutes.

StarDuc Hotel was a very clean, very nice hotel, rooms were spacious, bathroom was very large (not used to that in Italy)and the breakfast buffet was very good. (it wasn't just a continental breakfast, they had a nice selection of meats and cheese also) The only thing I didn't like was the location, it was a little out of the way from the town center, but was across from a very nice park. It wasn't that far to walk, but it wasn't a nice walk as you had to cross a highway, and go through a deserted street-during the day was fine but at night I didn't feel that safe.

We had a wonderful stay at Starhotels Du Parc. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The center of town was just a 15 minute walk away just as the concierge told us it would be. There was a computer in the lobby so we could conveniently surf the internet. Our double room was rather large compared to all the other double rooms we had stayed at during our trip. The breakfast was delicious...this was the only place out of our 3 weeks in Italy that served scrambled eggs and not just hardboiled eggs! There's a CONAD supermarket conveniently located across the street from the hotel.

We enjoyed very much our stay at the hotel, although we had some problems at the arrival. The receptionist had us change room three times until we settled down. The restaurant was excellent, but a little pricy. The breakfast buffet was satisfactory, but when we ordered breakfast in the room, it was of poor quality and quantity. Overall, an excellent hotel at a great location near the old town and the ducal park.

Basically the hotel is excellent, very good room and excellent breakfast buffet. However the restaurant meal was poor. In a fortnight of travelling it was the second most expensive and the least enjoyable. The menu promised more than it delivered and was over-priced (we had a very good dinner in town the second night). Our second night was marred by a very loud disco in the central courtyard keeping us awake until past midnight (we had requested a room on an upper floor away from noise). A pity as these two things let down an otherwise very enjoyable and comfortable stay.

The hotel is about 15 minutes from the historic centre of Parma. We enjoyed walking in sometimes along the river and sometimes through the park at the back of the hotel. The rooms are VERY spacious and very well equipped. This is a large hotel which is used for conferences; because of this it can seem impersonal but it is run very efficiently. We planned to use Parma as a rest & plan point upon arrival in Italy for an extended stay. We enjoyed Parma so much we didn't get much rest or planning done! The Hotel is a modern, streamlined affair with larger than average rooms and excellent services, but little character. The first night we dined in the Hotel restaurant and were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the experience (great food, perfect service.) Would strongly recommend the Hotel Du Parc to business or leisure travelers who don't mind a modern, more sterile atmosphere conveniently located for touring Parma and the surrounding areas.

We were given a room at the rear on the fourth floor which was as far as we could be from a lift. Unfortunately it appeared to have a staff bedroom above it and the sound proofing was non existent, as a result we were awakened each morning at 5.30 by the sound of a bath running which was loud enough to have been in our own room. We have however booked to stay there again as the location is good for us and we had no other complaints, the breakfast was good and the bar/lounge very pleasant

It might be me and my poor geography, but I think that on the map you show the hotel at the opposite end of the road. Whatever, it was right where we needed it to be (backing onto the ducal palace). StarHotel was awonderful find. A great place for a quick stay overnight ,right in the city... The best quality of the hotel was it's breakfast and dinner. Both of the rstaurants were very very good. Very good hotel. Hotel seems geared a bit more to the business traveler. Very modern building, about a 10 minute walk to piazza Garibaldi, there is a back exit that enters directly into the Parco Ducale. Room was a bit on the small side, but did have a huge matrimoniale bed, shower was awkward. Convenient parking with elevator access to the lower level. Would have no problem staying there again, but next time would probably try to book a hotel on the other side of the river more in the "old" city around piazza Garibaldi or the Palazzo Pillota to be closer to the pedestrian area, restaurants and shops.
