The staff were rushed and unhelpful when I arrived. I was put in a smoking room when I asked for non smoking, it was like sleeping in an ashtray and smelt awful. There was no tea making facility. It cost 5 euros + 6 euros for room service to get cup of tea in room and when I called down the staff in the bar did not understand me, So i went to collect it myself and they were unfriendly. The restaurant attached to the hotel was very expensive. Several people were looking to be served in the bar for coffee and drinks outside of main meal times as no one was there. Breakfast finished being served at 10.30 and I missed out due to waking up through the night in stuffy room which was too noisy to open windows and then sleeping late. I asked for a late check out as I had 10.30pm flight and was given an extra hour which worked out Ok but the staff were not very receptive to my request. Saving grace was a great location.

After stays in Rome and Florence, we arrived in Milan. The hotel in itself is pretty easy to find, so no complaints there. The staff was friendly and the room was more than generously sized. There was a problem with the shower (water didn't drain properly) and the solution implemented was a bit clumsy (towels), but I'm sure that if we really had made a problem of it, we could've gotten another room. After checking-out, we realized that we forgot to tell them about the consumption of two items from the mini-bar. Sent them an email, but they didn't make a problem of it; got it for free! Very nice indeed. In conclusion: We can definitely recommend this hotel

This was our first stay at Hote Starhotels Rosa - Ritz closed for renovations. Hotel ideally located for visiting the historical parts of the city & shopping. The corridors were in a low state of repair with wallpaper & covings coming off. The reception & breakfast service was good & I could not fault any of the staff for their friendliness. Car parking was expensive at eur20 per day.

June 2008, we had 2 rooms for 3 nights, excellent value for the money, would gladly stay again. Location very convenient to shops, metro, train station, anywhere you can go by short taxi ride, if not taking public transit. Only couple of stops on subway to historical center. Good walking area, great coffee shop and bakery in the corner. Hotel breakfast buffet plentiful with both Euro (cold-cuts, rolls, pastry, yogurt, fruit, cereal, juice) and American (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage). Renovation still on at remote parts of the hotel, all guest rooms done up now very nicely with all modern features. Get a room in the back to avoid street noise at night, if you like to open windows for fresh air, since hotel cuts off a/c during the night (typical in Italy). They may be renovation the lobby next, so if you are concerned, do ask about this before booking.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast rich and delicious. the hotel is located in a great area just a ten minutes walk from the doumo. the only annoying thing was the noise of some construction works in the hotel every day. but it started only at 11 am so it was time to get up anyway. i would stay there again anytime!

Great hotel in a very convenient location. One of the best mattresses I've ever slept on! Rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day. The breakfast was excellent - great choice available. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely return to Starhotels Ritz. The only drawback was the construction noise.

Wonderful hotel close to main shopping district. Subway stop is close by and can take you to all the major sites within minutes. Hotel is clean and spacious and offers a great free breakfast. Be wary of having the hotel call a private cab to the airport---our driver, who took us to the airport at 4:00am, charged us 115,00 euros for the 35 min. ride! Would otherwise gladly stay at the hotel for any future visits!

During our trip to Italy, we had decided to do a short two day stop over in Milan especially to shop - we arrived 1 January 2005 to find all the shops and restaurants closed as it was a public holiday. The next day was a Sunday and we were told by the receptionists at the StarRitz that all the shops would still be closed on this day too! Luckily we found some shops and restaurants that were open, so we were relieved! The StarRitz is a lovely hotel, we had read from other reviews that the staff in some hotels in Italy were rude and unhelpful, but we were very pleasantly surprised that all the staff we came into contact with during our stay in Italy were most pleasant, courtious and very willing to help. Our room at the StarRitz was spacious and very comfortable, it was in a good location. If we go back to Milan, we would stay there again. A tip for other travellers: dont go to Milan for a short stay when there are public holidays - the place comes to a standstill!

It was very good hotel, I was really enjoying to stay there. Sound proof window, it was really useful to have calm night in Milano. Confortable bed, and TV which can use internet, but I thought the language which I could use, were English and Italian, so, I didn't use that though... The bath room was also quite good, big and clean. but I wanted to have a bath, but there was only a shower, I wish I could check the room and bath type before booking. The staffs were very kind and friendly so I felt Italy.. :-) About the hotel map in web site of the hotel, was not clear at all. we couldn't find the hotel by ourselves. (one street<-very important ! is missed) By the way, I don't know why, but when I booked that hotel on your site, the "total plice" was not same as I acctualy paied. booked 2nights for 2people, so I thought that "total plice" was for 2nights and for 2people, but I had to pay twice. "total plice" was just for 1person... I didn't know that..... :-( I think you should put "total plice for 1person", it was quite surprising and sad.. Apart from that, I'm really satisfied to know and use your site, it is very useful to search a hotel, I hope your site will be bigger and better ;-)
