The hotel Liassidi Palace, situated in the center of Venice, not far from Riva degli Schiavoni, in the Castello area, is an elegant 15th century Gothic palace built on the foundations of a previous medieval structure.

The hotel's facade is dominated by a splendid mullioned window with six lights framed in decorations and inserted between two couples of windows. The balconies of the first floor have some overturned columns and for this reason this building is also known as the Zorzi Building with the crooked columns.

The hotel is a member of the Small Luxury Hotel of the World. Complimentary wireless (high-speed) Internet access is available.

No pets or service animals are allowed at the Liassidi Palace.

Hotel does not live up to its 4* rating, its 3* at best, or its own hype; inside the decor has no character or charm, our room was small and basic but clean and air conditioned, nothing like the rooms shown in the photos. The bar, not really a bar, the seating area in front of the hotel, order via reception, closed early (before 10pm), then had to use the mini bar from room (which was not restocked) which meant a trip to the 3rd floor and back to get a glass of wine, they even took the cushions off the seats. There was no restaurant service and breakfast was average, the staff were mostly friendly and welcoming (especially the man on reception) but with an air of nonchalance (in some staff). The hotel is in a good area, quiet, within easy reach of everything, there are a couple of ok restaurants close by, but you have to travel a bit for really good food. Overall very disappointing, will not stay again or recommend this hotel.

My first visit and I hope not the last. I particularly appreciated having a warm room in some exceptionally cold weather.

We spent four nights at this hotel, and it was excellent. The location is very close to St Mark's square. The staff were very welcoming and very helpful. We would certainly return.

An excellently appointed boutique hotel in a good, quiet location, but one which is still only 5 minutes walk from the front & 10 minutes to St. Mark's Square. Although situated on a canal we found it to be very quiet & there are a number of good restaurants within a few minutes walk. The front of house staff were all very welcoming, helpful & professional. Having experienced some fairly small hotel rooms on previous visits to other hotels in Venice, we had on this special occasion, booked a double superior room. This proved to be a very wise choice as we were given a lovely, spacious room on the first floor overlooking the canal with two balconies. The bed was huge, we had a spacious sitting area & a well appointed bathroom complete with jacuzzi bath. The only noise we ever heard was from the canal outside & this was only minor. We never heard any noise from other guests or parts of the hotel. Indeed it was so quiet we were astonished to see so many people at breakfast. The hotel has a pleasant courtyard garden in front of reception & a huge well furnished public room on the second floor. Our only minor criticism would be that the breakfast room/bar is a little dark & cramped but the breakfast itself was fine. If you can afford it the hotel has its own landing stage for water taxis. We have always used the Alilaguna water bus to & from the airport. As it was a special occasion we let the hotel book us a private taxi which took us from the hotel reception to the airport in 15 minutes. Expensive but an experience & well worth it as a one off. Whilst the Liassidi wasn't the cheapest hotel in its price range, we felt it was a better option than some of the pricier hotels fronting onto the Grand Canal. It certainly appeared to be quieter but still well located. If you are looking for a quiet, small luxury hotel for a special occasion, you could do a lot worse than book the Liassidi.

This hotel is located in a quiet area yet not The staff provided detail informations, e.g. the travel routes by walk, the date of strike, and the taxi. The decoration of room is very nice.

We do recomend Liassidi Palace. Venezia was crowded, as ever, the hotel also, but the quality of services was excelent. Concierge, reception, bartender, all the staff was kind, polite, trying to do the best to the clients fell comfortable. Near San Marco, but far from the noise and crowd, the only rumor came from the waves moving by the gondole.

Great property...central but just off the beaten path so it was quiet. Superbly competent front desk staff...friendly and quite helpful with restaurants and directions. We had a junior suite which could use a couch and dresser...other than that we have nothing else to recommend for improvement. Really enjoyed the atrium for evening drinks...shaded and cool. For nearby restaurants try Carpaccio and Oliva Nera for great but "reasonable" meals. Both were recommended by the front desk staff. We would definitely recommend the Liassidi Palace to anyone. Decent value for money in an otherwise overpriced city.

A stunning little hotel, very convenient for all the main sites. I'd say it was better than a much more expensive 5* Venice hotel I stayed in earlier this year. Definitely highly recommended.
